Valaree (Jodi) Flake purchased this House in 2007
Why Valaree (Jodi) Flake chose Jacobs Ranch
Keith bought the AJ House in 2007 since it's in the middle of our Desert Ranch, and he needed a place to stay, while he works cattle in Apache Junction. We have a home, ranch and office in Snowflake too. Jodi teaches school in Snowflake and commuted to the AJ Home for 2 years, while she finished her Masters in Music at ASU in 2010. Keith and I and our kids only use the home about a third of the year, so we wanted to share it with other families, needing a place to stay in the East Phoenix area.
What makes this House unique
We love the open, comfortable floor plan, where we can sleep 10 in our home and the accessibility to most activities and attractions in the East Phoenix valley. We enjoy the gated-community club house, parks and pool and getting out of the snow and cold in Snowflake, during the winter and spring months. It's a great vacation - get-a-way home for a weekend.
Pool / Spa
The house was quite spacious and very clean. The latter the most important to our family. The house was quite well stocked w necessities. I would
highly recommend this property to anyone traveling to the area. A microwaveable set
of dishes and plates would be nice but the house was well stocked with paper plates so it really didn’t matter.
Enjoyed our stay
The house worked very well for my husband and I. It was well stocked and the bed was very comfortable. The community swimming pool is heated and was only a couple of blocks away. We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 month stay in this home.
The property is in a very good location, close to Highway 60, which provides easy access to entertainment, dining, golfing, shopping, and sightseeing activities.
The owner was very good to work with and responded timely if we had questions. I would highly recommend this location to anyone looking to spend some time in Arizona.
We stayed over Christmas so we could celebrate with my parents who live in an RV Park in Apache Junction. The house was decorated for Christmas with lights and a tree! The beds were mostly comfortable, my daughter wasn’t fond of the bunk beds though (she’s tall). There were some minor issues I shared with the owner but overall we were quite happy staying here.
Perfect for our needs. Thank you.
We were in and out of the house due to a family gathering. It was perfect for our needs. The Christmas decorations was a nice touch.
Enjoyed our stay
Place suited us just fine. Back patio area could have been been better maintained (weed and debris removal). Neighbors in back are very close just so you know if you prefer privacy. Also, it would have been nice to have a garage remote because entrance door wouldn't lock with the key. We notified owner right away and she was always great at getting back to me. We only stayed 2 nights so I'm sure she has addressed the minor issues. Beds and pillows were comfy, which is always important to us!
Home in gated community
This home is perfect for those looking for a home base in the area. It worked well for us since it was near everything we were visiting. It has easy access to the freeway, and is in a gated community if that matters to you. There a ton of houses right on top of each other, so it is close quarters. The back yard is pretty small, with a tiny patio. The pool is several blocks away from the house, but a good size next to a playground. If you plan on doing a lot of cooking, the kitchen is minimally stocked. They have china which cannot go in the microwave, which made reheating things challenging. As far as the beds go, don't count on the top bunk of the bunk bed when planning sleeping arrangements. It has no rails and is pretty shaky and we decided it was not very safe. There are several couches and chairs through out the house, and a nice big dining room table so plenty of seating which is nice. The only instructions given relate to the wifi, air conditioning, gate access, and keys. It would have been nice to have instructions on check out procedures and trash service in the house to refer to since we did not want to be calling the homeowner with every question we had while on vacation. Overall, it worked out just fine for our family and is one of the more affordable rentals in the valley.
