Courchevel #55 is a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom unit with a 1 car garage. East facing windows throughout this end unit give it a bright open feeling. Located just 275 yard from Canyon Lodge this unit is only a few minutes walk to the ski lifts. The large open first floor above the garage comprises the living room, dining area and the kitchen all open to each other. The living room has two sofas, a recliner, a flat screen TV and new pellet stove for additional heating. The unit sleeps up to five people. The first bedroom has a queen size bed and the master bedroom has a queen and a twin bed. Additional amenities include free wireless internet, a fully equipped kitchen with microwave, VCR/DVD and a portable radio/tape player. Parking for a second car is allowed on the complex with a permit. Linens and cleaning are included. There is no extra cleaning fee. The Courchevel complex has an outdoor pool and BBQ area in the summer and two indoor hot tubs with coed sauna open year round. The communal coin operated laundry room is in the spa building. Stayed there from a Thursday to Sunday recently and had a great time. Only problem was the wifi not connecting based on the instructions given. Made a phone call to the number listed and the lady was super helpful. Got me hooked up with another network and it worked great all weekend. Originally was worried about not having kitchen supplies to cook breakfast in the mornings based on another review but was happy to find ample pots and pans and utensils (also no problems cooking bacon and setting off any alarms). Might want to pay attention to the toaster. Had bagels in there and didn't pop out. Luckily we noticed before they burned. Stove and fridge worked great. Wish the bedrooms had televisions and the living room tv was bigger but no biggie. DVD player worked great. The place is very close to Canyon Lodge so was convenient for my pregnant wife to walk back and forth during the day and also take the free Gondola to the Village to shop. Oh, also, it's very convenient having a garage to park the car in. It snowed fairly heavily while we were there but didn't have to scrape any ice or snow from the windshield which was nice.
I will be booking this place again next season if possible.
The location of this condo was fantastic. We parked our car at the condo and just walked over to Canyon Lodge each day. We also were able to take the Gondola or the shuttle to the village which was also a plus. My constructive feedback includes that there were minimal supplies in the condo. No dish towels, one roll of paper towels....we spent a lot to stay there over the long weekend and expected minimal supplies so we could cook, clean up, etc.
Also if you stay here, don't rely on the dishes to cook with. The sautee pans are bent and the ventilation not good - we set off the fire alarms twice cooking bacon.
Location - excellent though so would recommend....just prep some supplies if you plan on cooking at home.
World class skiing and snowboarding on Mammoth Mountain in winter. Endless summer fun with fishing, hiking, mountain biking, and almost any other outdoor activity. The Town of Mammoth Lakes has plenty of shopping venues and a wide range of restaurant choices.
