A stunning, brand new, 2 level Laneway/coach house in the heart of beautiful Vancouver. Our 800sqft coach house is a completely separate and private house adjacent to the main house. It offers the benefits of both privacy, and easy access to help when needed. Our VRBO is perfect for families and up to 4 adults. There are 2 large, bright, bedrooms, both with queen sized beds, and plenty of custom storage. There is even a balcony off the master bedroom. There is a full bathroom on the upper and a half bathroom on the main floor. A full sized washer and dryer complete the upper level. The sunny main floor has a fully equipped kitchen with brand new appliances, including a dishwasher. The kitchen includes small appliances such as a toaster, kettle, blender and a french press. We also include complementary tea, coffee and spices. The living area has a comfortable and functional futon that can convert into a double bed if needed. Enjoy your favorite programs and movies on our large 48' LED smart TV, with free Netflix. Free WIFI internet access is included with your stay. For your large items, there is an extra storage room. We also include board games, books and toys for our guests.
We are located close to two skytrain lines, as well as the Nanaimo and Broadway bus routes. If you have a vehicle, we offer a free car port off the side of the house. We are located in a quiet residential area but with all the conveniences of being right in the city. Just steps away is beautiful John Hendry park and the brand new Trout Lake commuity centre. The community centre offers a fitness centre, a skating rink, gym, and many classes. Also in less than 5 mins, you can drive to many restaurants, banks, and shops including McDonalds, Subway, SuperStore, PriceSmart Foods, Walmart, Starbucks. A few blocks away is Commercial Drive, one of the most vibrant streets in Vancouver. Here there are a large range of restaurants, cafes, clubs, and boutiques. In the summer, Commercial Drive is often closed to vehicle traffic as it is converted to a large, fun, and family friendly street party with great food and music.

About Jan Shim
Hello!! My name is Jan, my wife and I are very excited to be offering our great new Coach House as your home away from home. I have been living in Vancouver since high school, and I know the city well and absolutely love living here. The great thing about Vancouver is it promotes a great balance of work and play. For work, I am a software engineer, but outside of work I am very active with triathalon, mountain biking, snow boarding and camping. We are here to help make your visit in Vancouver a special and memorable one.

We chose this property because of its central location. It is close to all forms of public transit, parks, restaurants and shops. Vancouver has a moderate climate - never too hot or too cold. There are plenty activities to do here year round. We also think the city is just the right size. Easy to get around, but also with world class amenities.
What makes this House unique
We love the central location and easy access to shopping and activities. We live in a family friendly neighbourhood and love the convenience of being in the city. The laneway house is next to the main house and is completely separate and private; however, it has the benefit of being close to us if help is needed. It is on the south facing back yard and is very bright and sunny. From the rooms there is a south facing tree filled view. Our access to public transportation is very easy, with both buses and 2 skytrain lines. Because we are so close to major supermarkets, it is easy to make a quick and affordable grocery run. We are also close to the countless amazing restaurant and shops. If you want to explore the Lower Mainland even further, we live less than 5 mins from Vancouver's main highway.

A clean, new house well appointed
The laneway house was better appointed than any other VRBO we have stayed in. Attention to detail everywhere. The owner was helpful in suggesting good places to eat in the area. Highly recommended!
Nice vacation base
The size of this home fit my husband and me just right.
Close enough to all we wanted to see, we had rented a car, quiet and away from the city bustle.

Vancouver Stay -- a Winner!
Property is very neat and clean, well stocked -- our host, Jan, very accommodating -- the coach house is centrally located and very quiet neighborhood -- we would recommend to all, and it's surprisingly roomy enough for two couples, could be six with pull out sofa/futon -- the half bath downstairs really is convenient!
Great home in a safe neighborhood. We were so grateful for the small toy room and plenty of space for our family of 6 to spread out. The house was very clean and we loved having a fully kitchen to prepare meals each night.

We are located in the heart of the Greater Vancouver Regional District and are close to many of the attractions, great eats, and activities that this great city has to offer. We are 3 mins from the entrance of the highway. Heading north on the highway, it is easy to access our local mountains; Grouse Mountain, Mount Seymour, and Cypress Mountain. On the mountains, you can go hiking, skiing, snowboarding, snow shoeing, and skating. Also in North Van, it is very easy to access Deep cove, a quaint getaway, with a cute small town feel, canoeing/kayaking, and great hikes. At the same time, we are 12 minutes from downtown via car, and 20 mins via bus/skytrain. We have very easy access to the stadiums (hockey, football, and soccer), clubs, great restaurants, and terrific shopping that downtown has to offer. We are just steps away from John Hendry park, which is famous for beautiful Trout lake. During the summer, families love to swim, sunbathe, BBQ, and play around the lake. There are also 2 great playgrounds at the new Trout Lake community centre, an indoor ice rink, basketball and tennis courts, picnic area, and fields in the park. During the summer, the community centre regularly offers free outdoor concerts from local artists. In addition, every Sat during the summer, Trout Lake is home to a farmers market where you can buy local fresh produce, delicious hand crafted delicacies, and artisan crafts. Also within a 2 min drive is Commercial drive, which is also fondly known as Little Italy. Commercial Drive is known for its amazing food. You can find one-of-a kind cafe's, absolutely delicious homemade gelato and, of course, some of the best Italian food in Vancouver. Commercial Drive is also famous for having one of the largest selection of food in Vancouver - from Mexican, Indian, Japanese, Lebanese, Ethiopian, and Greek. If you want it, Commercial Drive probably has it. In the summer, the entire street is often closed to vehicles and there are great street parties, with lots of music and entertainment. The CULCH theatre, East Vancouver's premier theatre is also located by Commercial Drive. Only a few blocks from your VRBO are many of the largest stores that will be very convenient during your stay. These stores include Superstore, Price Smart Foods, Walmart, Canadian Tire, and T&T Supermarket. These stores have unbelievable selection and affordable prices. 4 minutes from our house is Hastings Street, which is similiar to Commercial Drive, offering great local food and shopping. Hasting Street also has fun, family friendly street parties during the summer. We are also 7 mins away from Main street, famous in Vancouver for its countless great restaurants and boutiques, most of which are unique and locally owned. Main street offers fun and family friendly street parties during the summer, where all the stores and restaurants are on display. We are also 13 mins drive from Metrotown mall in Burnaby, which is the biggest mall in the the Lower Mainland. Metrotown is also very easy to access by skytrain from our location. We are just off Broadway street, and are close to all the shops, trendy restaurants, and gourmet eats including Whole foods. Cactus Club, and many other local restaurants and shops. We are a 15 min drive to Granville Island which is one of the landmark attractions in Vancouver. Granville Island is a public market with amazing fresh produce, baked goods, gourmet meats, sweets, etc. Granville Island is also a hub for Vancouver's local artists with our premier art school Emily Carr situated there. Because of our central location, we are no more than 20mins from most of the attractions of Vancouver. Whether it be the beaches, clubs, ethnic foods, hikes, canoing, shopping.... and the list truly goes on and on, all activities are truly easy to access from our great location.
