The place is 750 sq ft or 69.6773 sq. meters. This is big by NYC standards. However, you decide if it is enough for you. If it's not enough room, pls do not rent the place. There are measurement converters on line so you can figure out your convert your contries unit of measurement. Also, pls read the entire listing before booking. I really don't like it when I get complaints in the reviews about something that was clearly explained in the listing. 2 bedroom with stainless steal appliances/dishwasher. Recreation center and Olympic size pool(free pool only available in the summer) are right around the corner. Near lots of beautiful community gardens and parks. Also, close to many new clubs and bars but located on quiet block. 4 people can comfortably stay, but there is also a pull out couch for 1-2 extra guests. I also have a blow up mattress and a camping mat that both accommodate 1 person. The place can sleep a total of 8 people, but it is only a 2 bedroom so if you feel you need more space pls rent a 3 or 4 bedroom apartment. I am open to letting up to 8 people stay, but I want you to decide if this is enough room for you before you arrive. Please do not book the place and then say it is not enough space. if you need more space, pls book a bigger apartment. I cannot determine how much space you and your party need. However, I am open to providing affordable accommodation. I have had parties of 6-8 people all say it was plenty of space. I have also have a party of 6 who complained that it was not enough space. I can only tell you how much space it is. Then you can decide if the space is right for you. If it is not big enough, there are bigger apartments for rent. The apartment is about 750 square feet.

This is a no smoking apartment. Please no smoking of any kind in the apartment. You are welcome to smoke on the shared patio or shared roof top.

Street parking, elevator, shared roof access, shared patio access. There is also a pull out couch. Shampoo, sheets, and towels are all available.

Very vibrant, and full of lively restaurants, bars, and galleries The apartment is located on a quiet street. However, not a sterile completely gentrified neighborhood like the Upper East Side or TriBeCa.

It takes 12 minutes to walk to the F train entrance at Houston and 1st Ave(this stop is called the 2nd Ave stop), and 20 minutes to walk to the Delancy St. F train. All off the buses are steps away. The 14D bus comes every 3-4 minutes, the M9 bus comes every 15 minutes, and the M21 bus comes every 1/2 hour. If you are very organized you can take the M21 bus to the 2nd Street F train. I however hate waiting so I usually walk to the entrance at 1st and Houston.

The diversity, the nice people, the art galleries, all the new shops, bars, and restaurants on Ave C. The funky vibe, the vibrant artsy atmosphere, etc.

"A great neighbourhood covered in restaurants, bars, cafes, and shopping options. A friend and I visited many other areas in the city and still thought that the LES and East Village was the most exciting. it is perfectly safe and certainly full of life and activity".

Please read my reviews for more information regarding the neighborhood or ask me anything you would like to know. The closes subway is 12 minutes away, and there are 2 buses that will bring you to the subway in 1-3 minutes.

I offer Amazon Fire TV, Sling TV, HBO, Netflix, ESPN, etc.

The cleaning fee includes clean sheets, towels, cleaning before you come, and after you leave. If you require extra cleanings, there will be a fee based on what you need.

The apartment away from the Nuyorican Poets Cafe and The Stone.

Disclaimer-A photo of all of the front and back of the IDs of all occupants at the time of booking is required. No 3rd party bookings. If anyone who shows up does not match up with their ID, the entire party will be turned away without a refund. Ask me for my photo!

About Ann

Good sense of humor yet quiet and respectful. "99 percent of life is showing up".

Ann purchased this apartment in 2001

Why Ann chose Alphabet City

Great deal in vibrant neighborhood. Located on quiet block which is extremely rate in NYC.

Why East Village: Considered part of the Lower East Side until the early 1960s, the East Village became a haven for iconic artists, poets and musicians in the 1970's and 1980's housing the likes of William Burroughs, Lou Reed, Keith Haring – and the Queen of Pop herself - Madonna. With its famously fractured history, the fact that the East Village has become one of the most dynamic places to eat, drink, shop and lay roots is not lost on the old timers who still reside in the area. Recognized as the center of the counterculture movement, its punk past intersects with latin culture, immigrants from all over the world, and gentrified version of the neighbourhood that sees Wall Street wizards mingling with art world acolytes. Old timers say there was a time when over 10 different languages were spoken in Alphabet City which is part of the East Village. Precocious cocktail dens churn out some of the world's best drinks, while the restaurant scene teeters between the cheap and cheerful to romantic, date-night spots. Brunch is a rite of passage for New Yorkers, so get out the door early before the late-night revelers make the wait unbearably long. Take in a live show at one of the many musical haunts or roam the streets for fun vintage finds. Although St. Mark's Place has succumbed to a restaurant chain or two, the area this apartment is located in is still an homages to its rough-and-tumble past without a trace of commercialism and not a single chain restaurant or shop. The art galleries that used to occupy Soho and Chelsea before Chanel and Gucci moved in now litter the East Village and Lower East Side. The East Village is where the true art scene is now located. Walk a block or so in any direction and you will be in one of New York's finest galleries featuring famous and emerging artists alike. The Stone(which is an experimental music hall) is right around the corner.

What makes this apartment unique

Close to NYC's best hot spots, but quiet! Also, near many community gardens. The East Village is a special gem, if you can appreciate it's unique qualities you should stay at my place.

Guestbook comments from the owner

  • The bedroom to the left is a bit bigger and it has a closet. One side is for guest belongings. The other side has extra sheets, blankets, and pillows for guests to use. This bedroom also has 3 dressers for guests to use. One has about 10 smaller drawers. A few of them have items for guests usage. The other empty drawers can be used for smaller items like jewelry, wallets, scarves, etc. There is a large dresser with 3 giant drawers, and a high dresser with a lot of smaller drawers, but the bottom 1 or 2 have some item in them. However, there are many other drawers that can be used. In the room to the right, there isn't a closet, but don't worry. There is a closet in the living room that can be used. There is a dresser w about 6 fairly large drawers. The top drawer has a nice robe for a petite woman. I have other robes that I lay out for guests, but that one doesn't match. It is for guest usage. The other drawers are for guest usage.

Fun in Alphabet City

  • 5 of 5

This apartment is wonderful. I stayed there with my two teenagers for 5 days. The apartment is on a quiet street but is close to many wonderful restaurants and nightlife. The apartment had a wonderful kitchen, the bedrooms were a great size as well as a bathroom. The apartment was very clean and had all the linens needed. We were there during a very hot time in NYC and the air condition was very well to cool us down. I highly recommend this nice place to stay when you are visiting the city.

Great apartment that met all of our needs! Lisa was great. Clean, safe, convenient. Fully stocked kitchen, great beds! So glad we had this experience instead of a hotel room. Loved the rooftop views. We shall be back!

Clean, roomy, not noisy and perfect for an East Village Apartment

  • 5 of 5

This is a fine place to stay in New York. First thing, it has an elevator. No lugging suitcases up the stairs (I wish I knew this before). The apartment is clean, with two nice bedroom, stove, tv the works. I couldn't have asked for a nicer place and for NY city, surprise--it wasn't all that noisy. I recommend it as a place to stay.

Nice apartment, interesting neighbourhood with lots to see and do.

  • 5 of 5

Was good. Apartment felt roomy and bright. Kitchen area nice. Some minor issues with the furniture and TV., but not a big deal. Building is small and quiet and in good shape. Street is mostly residential and more or less quiet. Rooftop was nice view. The neighborhood was very interesting and lots of different types of stores, restaurants, clubs everywhere. No chain stores in sight, very local feel. Very few obvious tourists or tourist traps. In the evening just go for a walk and you will find many unique places to go very near by. A bit further Chinatown, Soho, etc. all in walking distance. Some strange ones around, but felt safe even late at night. Grocery store very close. Subway a bit of a walk if you are in a hurry, but not ridiculous. Street parking is scarce, but was able to find a spot. Owner was available and helpful.

Generous and communicative host, excellent air conditioning, transitional neighborhood

  • 4 of 5

Our host, Ann, was very accommodating and generous. She met us at the apartment and showed us everything. She bought us milk, OJ and cereal, which was a nice touch. Whenever we had a question she responded very promptly.

The apartment is well equipped. The water pressure in the shower is good, and Ann provided us with ample towels.

The air conditioning is much better than what I experienced in other NY apartments. Rather than a window unit which only blows straight, each bedroom has a large unit which cools the whole room. The bedrooms have a lot of storage, and the closets had many hangers.

The neighborhood can, most charitably, be described as transitional. It doesn't feel dangerous in any way, but it is sketchy.

Car: not necessary

Very vibrant, and full of lively restaurants, bars, and galleries but the apartment is located on a quiet street. However, not a sterile completely gentrified neighborhood like the Upper East Side or TriBeCa.

You can also rent a car and visit beautiful upstate New York, and go for a hike.
