In case you contact me and I don't write back, it means I didn't get your message. I just found out from someone that they wrote me and it didn't go through. So, if I don't write back, please write me again!

Large 2 bedroom with stainless steal appliances/dishwasher. Recreation center and Olympic size pool are right around the corner. Near lots of beautiful community gardens and parks. Also, close to many new clubs and bars but located on quiet block. 4 people can comfortably stay, but there is also a pull out couch for 1-2 extra guests. I also have a blow up mattress and a camping mat that both accommodate 1 person. The place can sleep a total of 8 people, but it is only a 2 bedroom so if you feel you need more space pls rent a 3 or 4 bedroom apartment. I am open to letting up to 8 people stay, but I want you to decide if this is enough room for you before you arrive. Please do not book the place and then say it is not enough space. if you need more space, pls book a bigger apartment. I cannot determine how much space you and your party need. However, I am open to providing affordable accommodation. I have had parties of 6-8 people all say it was plenty of space. I have also have a party of 6 who complained that it was not enough space. I can only tell you how much space it is. Then you can decide if the space is right for you. If it is not big enough, there are bigger apartments for rent. The apartment is about 750 square feet.

This is a no smoking apartment. Please no smoking of any kind in the apartment. You are welcome to smoke on the shared patio or shared roof top.

Street parking, elevator, shared roof access, shared patio access. There is also a pull out couch. Shampoo, sheets, and towels are all available.

Very vibrant, and full of lively restaurants, bars, and galleries The apartment is located on a quiet street. However, not a sterile completely gentrified neighborhood like the Upper East Side or TriBeCa.

It takes 12 minutes to walk to the F train entrance at Houston and 1st Ave(this stop is called the 2nd Ave stop), and 20 minutes to walk to the Delancy St. F train. All off the buses are steps away. The 14D bus comes every 3-4 minutes, the M9 bus comes every 15 minutes, and the M21 bus comes every 1/2 hour. If you are very organized you can take the M21 bus to the 2nd Street F train. I however hate waiting so I usually walk to the entrance at 1st and Houston.

The diversity, the nice people, the art galleries, all the new shops, bars, and restaurants on Ave C. The funky vibe, the vibrant artsy atmosphere, etc.

"A great neighbourhood covered in restaurants, bars, cafes, and shopping options. A friend and I visited many other areas in the city and still thought that the LES and East Village was the most exciting. it is perfectly safe and certainly full of life and activity".

Please read my reviews for more information regarding the neighborhood or ask me anything you would like to know. The closes subway is 12 minutes away, and there are 2 buses that will bring you to the subway in 1-3 minutes.

I offer Amazon Fire TV, Sling TV, HBO, Netflix, ESPN, etc. There are also some pay per view shows and movies. If you watch these, I will be charged. I do not mind as long as you pay me back. If you use the pay per view movies and shows and you do not pay me for them, I will ask you to pay me.

The cleaning fee includes clean sheets, towels, cleaning before you come, and after you leave. If you require extra cleanings, there will be a fee based on what you need.

The apartment away from the Nuyorican Poets Cafe and The Stone.

Disclaimer-A photo of all of the front and back of the IDs of all occupants at the time of booking is required. No 3rd party bookings. If anyone who shows up does not match up with their ID, the entire party will be turned away without a refund. Ask me for my photo!

About Ann

Good sense of humor yet quiet and respectful. "99 percent of life is showing up".

Let's see,my friends say I'm zany, funny, crazy, etc. I'm the art business, grew up in Upland California and I went to UCSB. Studied in Europe at the University of Sevilla and the Sorbonne, but I can't really remember much French. However, go ahead and speak Spanish with me. Lived in Japan for at least 6 years. Miss it a lot and need someone w whom I can practice Japanese. I used to be a voracious reader, but I've been corrupted by the internet, sad. I would really like to be able to read your profile and see photos of you and your family so please fill it out before contacting me. Please feel free to ask me anything you would like to know.

Why Ann chose Manhattan

Great deal in vibrant neighborhood. Located on quiet block which is extremely rate in NYC.

Why East Village: Considered part of the Lower East Side until the early 1960s, the East Village became a haven for iconic artists, poets and musicians in the 1970's and 1980's housing the likes of William Burroughs, Lou Reed, Keith Haring – and the Queen of Pop herself - Madonna. With its famously fractured history, the fact that the East Village has become one of the most dynamic places to eat, drink, shop and lay roots is not lost on the old timers who still reside in the area. Recognized as the center of the counterculture movement, its punk past intersects with latin culture, immigrants from all over the world, and gentrified version of the neighbourhood that sees Wall Street wizards mingling with art world acolytes. Old timers say there was a time when over 10 different languages were spoken in Alphabet City which is part of the East Village. Precocious cocktail dens churn out some of the world's best drinks, while the restaurant scene teeters between the cheap and cheerful to romantic, date-night spots. Brunch is a rite of passage for New Yorkers, so get out the door early before the late-night revelers make the wait unbearably long. Take in a live show at one of the many musical haunts or roam the streets for fun vintage finds. Although St. Mark's Place has succumbed to a restaurant chain or two, the area this apartment is located in is still an homages to its rough-and-tumble past without a trace of commercialism and not a single chain restaurant or shop. The art galleries that used to occupy Soho and Chelsea before Chanel and Gucci moved in now litter the East Village and Lower East Side. The East Village is where the true art scene is now located. Walk a block or so in any direction and you will be in one of New York's finest galleries featuring famous and emerging artists alike. The Stone(which is an experimental music hall) is right around the corner.

What makes this apartment unique

Close to NYC's best hot spots, but quiet! Also, near many community gardens. The East Village is a special gem, if you can appreciate it's unique qualities you should stay at my place.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Graduation Trip

  • 5 of 5

Lisa's place was AMAZING! It was in the perfect location, with many places to eat, shops and easy access to public transportation. We had a family of 5 in NYC for a week. The apartment was very clean and neat. We had enough room for all of us. She kept in contact with us from the day we made our reservation and was very accommodating. She has a very lovely view from the top of the building. We had a beautiful view of the Empire State Building at night. I hope to visit again and would absolutely recommend her place. This was our first time booking a rental, and I was not sure how it would go. But she was AWESOME! If it is your first time renting an apartment for NYC! This is the place to stay! Thank you Lisa! We hope to meet again!

Great Bohemian Feel

  • 5 of 5

We had a great experience renting this apartment. The building was very clean and the apartment was as well. There were five adults from 19-54 and one child of 12 years of age. The only situation was all sharing one bathroom....there were four women. We didnt spend much time in the neighborhood or the apartment as we did a lot of sight seeing. The neighborhood has a great Bohemian Flair and a lot of night life for the college age groups. We became familiar right away and eventually learned how to navigate the subway Etc.....The best part was the communication and kindness of the owner. She was wonderful and gave us a lot of valuable information about everything. I would def choose this apartment again if I am ever in the city visiting. It was a very tiring but invigorating vacation.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your kind words! I would love to have you back again and I hope we meet next time. You really should eat at some of the restaurants in the area. The great assortment of comfort and gourmet food isn't just for college students. :)

Good place to stay while in NYC

  • 5 of 5

Nice little apartment. We were a family of 6 (2 adults, 3 teens, 1 preschool) who travel a lot. This is a fine place to stay while in New York, very convenient. Beds were comfortable. Lots of grocery stores and restaurants nearby. The subway (F line) is a 10 minute walk away and there is also the option of bus a bit closer. The place is small but this is normal for New York - we really liked the apartment. Very quiet. The rooms faced the street and we heard no noise. We were there during a cold spell and the heating in the apartment worked well. The owner goes out of her way to help if any issues come up - we appreciated that very much and are very thankful.

If you have a car, parking is on the street but you really need to look for it. Don't park within 15 feet of a fire hydrant.

We were very happy and would stay here again if we are ever in NYC.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your kind words. You guys were great guests and I hope to have you again soon. Just one thing, I want to clarify. In the 1st paragraph of my listing I state that the apartment is 750 sq ft which really isn't small for NYC.

Perfect spot!

  • 5 of 5

Went with four girlfriends to New York and stayed at Lisa's place for a week, and it fit us perfectly! It's kinda far to the subway but almost right outside the apartment are bus stops that takes you to the subway or anywhere you need to go.

The area is great with a lot of cozy restaurants and bars and we had a really great time!

Lisa was an excellent host and made sure that we had everything we needed! Will definitely recommend this to our friends :)

Thank you Lisa!!

Car: not necessary

Very vibrant, and full of lively restaurants, bars, and galleries but the apartment is located on a quiet street. However, not a sterile completely gentrified neighborhood like the Upper East Side or TriBeCa.

You can also rent a car and visit beautiful upstate New York, and go for a hike.
