Located in the heart of historic crescent hill, one of the hottest neighborhoods, this 100 year-old, 3300 sq ft recently remodeled home places you walking distance to the frankfort avenue restaurant and shopping district. Crescent hill was featured in Southern Living’s January 2010 issue as one of the top historic neighborhoods in the south.
Walk a few blocks to the craft house brewery, porcini restaurant, heine bros coffee shop, the wine rack, blue dog bakery, eggs over frankfort, the consider boutique, usa nails, jerry heston hair salon, and the peacock boutique. Drive approximately 1 mile on frankfort avenue to basa restaurant, el mundo, irish rover, varanese, bourbon bistro, volare italian restaurant, nancy’s bagels, the silver dollar whiskey bar, the Hub, comfy cow ice cream, and the frankfort avenue beer depot & bbq.

About Mark & Tracie
Our family purchased this home in 2003. We renovated the entire home in 2011 transforming this 100-year old home into one of modern charm. We enjoy coffee each morning on the back porch. Mostly we enjoy walking to restaurants, consignments shops, bookstores, bakeries, and our favorite local coffee shop.

Great house layout and location but not suitable for renters!
This property has a great layout. And, the location is absolutely AWESOME! However, the house was very dirty and unsuitable for renters. Countertops had food stuck on them, the range and microwave had food and grease all over them, the oven looked as though it has not been cleaned in many months, the showers in the bathrooms were laden with mold and mildew, the bathroom floors had not been cleaned, the refrigerator smelled horrible, the floors throughout the home were filthy and layered with dog hair, the cabinets in both the kitchen and baths had dirt and grime on them, at least one of the beds had not had the sheets changed before our arrival, and the towels smelled as though they had been left in the washing machine for an extended period of time and then dried in spite of the fact that they had soured. Produce had been left out and there were many fruit flies enjoying the feast and there was even a cup of old coffee on one of the shelves. There were also fans / lights that didn't work, and I could go on and on about the unsuitable conditions. (If we had been able to get hotel rooms, we would have left the property.) We contacted the owner and asked for help and supposedly a sister-in-law came to clean, but there was very, very minimal difference after her visit. The only noticeable change was the floors seemed to have been swept. There was no follow up call from the owner to check to see if the problems had been remedied to our satisfaction. We ended up going to Target to purchase cleaning supplies and tackled the job ourselves, so that we could at least get through our stay. No offer has been made by the owner to compensate us for any of this. I would not rent this home again, and I would strongly dissuade others from staying here if cleanliness is a priority.
Your rental process began with a phone conversation in which you haggled for a free night before renting and arriving. Within two hours of your call stating that the house was not up to standards with regards to cleaning, we sent a two-person team to professionally clean the house again. After thanking us we did not hear from you again except for an attempt to secure yet another free night. We have always received high ratings for cleanliness so this rating response was an outlier that was both shocking and disappointing. We are sorry that you were not satisfied but wonder if your rating might have looked differently had your received additional free nights.
Very Nice Home to Stay in
Mark and Tracie have a very nice home. We first stayed in 2016 and were so happy with our stay that we came back in 2017. The screened in back patio area was amazing for large group meals and just relaxing. The house offered plenty of room for our large group and the neighbors were friendly as well. We were just a few minutes from Cherokee park where we could ride and run. we had quick access to the freeway and were fairly close to downtown.
Very happy with the property. Great Kitchen, dining and patio. Plenty of room for everyone. Everything we hoped for!
We had a great stay in this beautiful home. The house had a lot of charm. We loved the updated kitchen and large porches. There were shops/restaurants within walking distance and was only a 10 minute drive either downtown or to Bardstown Rd. I would definitely stay here again.
Wonderful place to stay!
This house has a lot of charm. The kitchen is beautiful and the porches provide places to relax. It was clean and in a great location. We enjoyed some of the local restaurants that were within walking distance. The owners went out of their way to make us feel welcome. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a home in Louisville. It made our vacation much more pleasurable. It beat a hotel room any day.
Great house well worth the money
This is a fantastic house with all amenities you would need for a derby vacation. It has an awesome screen porch where we spent a lot of time Talking with friends and having a few drinks.The kitchen is also great for cooking a dinner after a day at the races.location is great and the house is very clean. I would definitely return!
