Our Massanutten home received a ten-month renovation which includes a new HVAC system, 80-gallon water heater, new flooring throughout the entire home, complete kitchen renovation with new appliances, renovated bathrooms (new jetted, soaking tub in the upstairs bathroom), a full-size washer and dryer, and skylights installed in the vaulted, living room ceiling. To add one more to the list, we've just purchased a new U-shaped, Klausner sectional sofa that seats up to 10 people comfortably! No worries about maintenance issues when staying in our Massanutten home.

There is a 42" FLAT panel TV in the living room & each bedroom has either a Flat Panel or regular 20' - 35' TV. A BONUS FOR THE KIDS --- we also provide a Game Cube system with games!! For the adults -- poker cards/chips & board games. We also provide numerous Comcast cable TV channels including ESPN, along with a NetFlix capable DVD player and a movie library of 40+ movies that are suitable for families (at no charge).

***Our home is only one of a limited amount of rental homes located within TRUE walking distance of the SKI SLOPES, WINTER/SUMMER TUBING PARK, the ZIP LINE course, the OWNER'S POOL and ice-cream shop, frisbee golf and mountain biking on the ski slopes, the EuroBungee attraction, mini-golf courses, trout-stocked pond, the go-cart track, the skate park, Golf course @ LeClub. A short 3-5 minute drive will bring you to the resort's new INDOOR/OUTDOOR water park, horseback riding stables and the resort's on-site outfitter where you can spend a day river tubing, canoeing or kayaking!

DURING THE WINTER .... WALK TO THE SKI SLOPES!! You'll never have to walk along a main resort road. Simply walk to the end of our road, walk across a short foot bridge & through the snow-tubing parking lot and past the tubing ticket office, follow the asphalt path to lift #3 -- It's THAT easy! Because of our close location to the ski slopes, within TRUE walking distance location, our home tends to book quickly**

** Location, location, location! ** There's NO need to struggle with parking lot traffic ... NO need to load your ski & snowboard equipment in/out of your car in the parking lot! There's no need to wait in long lunch lines or find a table at the ski lodge - SAVE MONEY when you walk home for your meals.

For insurance purposes, we require all guests to sign a hard copy of our rental agreement, which will be emailed to you. This is the same rental agreement that you will sign via e-signature through the online reservations system.

WE HAVE MANY REPEAT RENTAL GUESTS .. Will you be one of them too?

You can enjoy morning coffee on a large, wraparound deck while watching the deer graze in the backyard and the birds visit the birdfeeders. Our birds visitors include finch, sparrows, nuthatch, titmouse, cardinals, bluejays and a variety of woodpeckers!

*SHORT-TERM leases are considered during the Fall months (Late August through - mid December) & the Spring months (early March - early May).**

Our home is NON-SMOKING HOME & pets are NOT allowed. 50% of Rental Rate is due at the time of reservation; balance and security deposit are due 30 days prior to your reservation date. Security Deposit will be refunded within 15 days after inspection shows no evidence of smoking & no damage to property. Cancellation: Full Refund with 60-day notice; 50% Refund with 44-30 day notice; no refund less than 29 days. MUST be over 25 years of age to check in to our home. Condominiums check-ins require a minimum age of 25 years old.

We specifically wanted a vacation home that we could walk to/home from the ski slopes. There are NOT many private homes with this TRUE, walk-to-the-slopes location.

What makes this house unique

SAVE MONEY by being able to walk back 'home' instead of standing in long lines and buying expensive ski lodge food!

Nice clean place! Great location to slopes and recreation area!

We just stayed here from July 1st - 5th. The house was very neat and clean and just a short walk to the slopes, fireworks, mini golf, go carts, and other activities.

Nice Amenities

Great house, close to slopes (though we chose to drive), linens provided, fully equipped kitchen, homey atmosphere. Owner was very accommodating, no surprises.

We had a great time. We would rent this house again.

Awesome Home But stairs can be tricky.

Thank you Janet for working with us at the last minute. Massanutten is a beautiful place to stay. We all enjoyed our stay. We all loved the comfy couch. We had plenty of room for the 3 of us. The Stairs were the most difficult thing for us leading up to the house. I arrived late at night and there was NO light on and no lights up the trail to the house. There are Solar lights but they weren't on the night of arrival. I got what I had to have out of my car and waited till the next morning to unpack. The deck on the house was great for our family who loves the outdoors. We spent more time outside on it than we did inside :) We got to see Deer, Fox, Squriels, possum, and more. We loved being able to watch them frolic around the house. There is a steep driveway and small parking area. It was good enough for two small cars, but very thankful I didn't bring my van :) There were plenty of pots and pans, kitchen counters, games, and more. Was great to be able to fix meals rather than eating out every night. All in all it was a great stay & we didn't want to leave.

There are a few things we all thought would be nice to improve on:

1. A Ceiling fan in each of the bedrooms. It gets hot up stairs and even though there were fans provided a ceiling fan would help a lot as well.

2. The house is in need of a fresh coat of paint. There were a lot of areas where I know they are improving but a lot of areas need a fresh coat.

3. The Bathrooms are TINY, especially for us "Bigger people". My dad (the smallest one of us) could barely fit in the downstairs shower. The upstairs bath/tub/shower combo needs a mat or something so it is not so slippery. There are no had rails and it is a very high tub. Me being short (5') made it hard getting into and out of.

4. There is water damage and mold on the outside of the house. I see they have been changing out the windows and the new ones look great. It would be nice to add screens so that people can open them and enjoy the cool weather of fall.

5. We know it is Fall season but the leaves were thick and hard to get through my 1st night up, was a little afraid of what might be under the leaves just because I could not see until I got into the house and got lights on.

6. The entrance into the house is a double patio door. Very nice but needs blinds or privacy curtain. I didn't realize how much I was exposed until I walked out the next morning in my gown and saw that the neighbors that live next door could see into the house.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your feedback; we did enjoy having you stay in our home. We will check the bulbs in our walkway lighting. -When you mentioned your father having some health conditions at the time of your reservation request, I did specifically state that we have approximately 12 steps from our parking area to the walkway of our home (you assured me it wouldn't be an issue). I feel that we are very forthcoming when renting to families with older folks, because we want people to be happy. -Additionally, our parking area was recently expanded to 24 feet wide - we park our 2 SUVs, side by side, without issue. The standard width for parking spaces in the U.S. is 9' wide; I do feel there is more than ample room for 2 SUVs. -During the Fall Foliage, it is very difficult to keep leaves from resting on our steps. Since our home is located among many trees, leaves in our mountain regions accumulate quickly, even after clearing them away. -Since our main bathroom measures 8 long by 6 feet wide, I wouldn't consider this a tiny bathroom. Had I known that you needed a bathroom with a large dimension I would have gladly let you know that our home wouldn't be a good fit. -And yes, you are correct in observing that we are constantly updating our home with new furniture, windows, decking, gas grill, etc. However, there are also projects that are currently being planned.

Perfect vacation rental with fully furnished and utensils for cooking

We stayed for 2 nights in this property and had good time visiting Shenandoah national park.

Home is easier to find and has all the things needed for perfect stay. It can easily accommodate 10 people with comforters and linens. With enough room in the living area this home is a perfect vacation rental. Only thing that's missing is Jacuzzi.

Great location. Comfortable set up. Only issue is the long climb to the front door. But what do yo expect in the mountains. Great resort. Tons to do. 20 minutes to Shenandoah National Park. Spent 4 days there, exploring. Highly recommend the "Bearfence Mountain Trail".
