Wonderful Property!

  • 4 of 5

We stayed at this property over Labor Day Weekend with another family (3 adults and 3 kids, ages 5, 13 and 17) and it was just what we were looking for - an open kitchen and table where we could all sit and eat together, a lake, a pool and poolside bar, and a fire pit. There really isn't an amenity I can think of that wasn't there! It was a great spot to relax and for everyone to spend time together or for people to spread out and do their own thing. There were a couple of minor issues while we were there, but Laura was responsive and had them taken care of. The only thing we were disappointed with was the boat (pontoon) rental. If you are considering this option, know that the pontoon is very small, old and doesn't have a canopy to provide any shade. We would definitely go back to the property, but would rent a boat from a local rental place next time.

Wonderful family vacation

  • 5 of 5

The home is beautiful. 3 nice bedrooms on main level. 4th bedroom downstairs got a little cold at night- nothing that an extra blanket couldn't take care of. Great kitchen/dining area- plenty of dishes and pots/pans- bake wear. The grounds are spectacular. We had a fire every night - wood provided. The heated pool was the hit of the weekend. We literally spent the whole weekend at the pool/ tiki bar area. The full size fridge in the tiki bar was wonderful for snacks and beverages. There is plenty of comfortable seating. So relaxing and comfortable. We had a little problem with a toilet running downstairs- called Laura- she responded quickly and offered to take care of the problem on a Sunday. We were very happy with our experience with Laura and her beautiful home- our kids want to go back again next year.

Good location. Property was decorated nicely with all the conveniences

  • 4 of 5

This property was great for our vacation .

My grandson almost lived in the pool.

The fishing was good. We caught enough for two meals.

The only things that keeps me from giving 5 stars is the noises from the sump or well system ( constant banging) and an unpleasant odor in the laundry room

Very well done!

  • 5 of 5

This house has it all. The interior of the house is very nice. The outside is set up perfectly for entertaining. Lots of space and seating around the pool. The pool house with bar, tv, frig and bathroom was awesome! If you choose to enjoy the lake, the back deck and dock are also nice. We fished off the pier and enjoyed several campfires at night. The channel provides easy access to the lake and is almost better than being right on the lake because its less traveled. We had no real issues but Laura was easy to work with. The only thing I might change is the addition of gas grill in the pool area. Charcoal grill worked fine and the food tasted great but a little more work than cooking on gas. Cheers to a vacation property well done!

Family vacation

  • 5 of 5

Enjoyed our stay in Decatur. Owners did everything right with provisions and making sure our stay was enjoyable. The pool was a great fit for the kids and all the extras around the pool kept us pretty much outside the whole time. Weather was great, and plenty of room for our pontoon boat which we brought along for our stay. Would consider renting again if the dates would fit family schedule.

A great get away!

  • 5 of 5

Our family just spent a week at Sunset Haven and enjoyed it very much. Our grandsons had fun fishing in the lake and the pool was, of course, a huge hit! The kitchen was well stocked and had everything we needed. We did have a slight problem with all the rain, but the owner was quick to respond. The Tiki bar was a hit with our grown children and was pefect for making snowcones for the little ones while they were swimming. We also enjoyed the firepit located by the lake. One suggestion is that maybe the Pontoon boat could be rented by the day, rather than by the week. We did get to use it, however, and it was such a relaxing ride. I would recommend this house as a perfect vacation get away.
