We co manage and keep the place warm and welcoming for your arrival. We are happy to share a glass of wine & or sashimi, if you have never tried the wonderful AHI fish available locally, or just conversation about various TRAVEL SPOTS.
Nida Goulding purchased this house in 2011
ITS AWESOME! There is NOT another location like this one, at the end of the road with no neighbors on the Jungle side...
with POOL AND HOTTUB
3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms when you also rent the studio which has an ensuite bathroom(shower).
possible fourth bedroom available at times (inquire)
free laundry machines & free telephone, POOL&HOTTUB too!
From the communication, to the ease of gaining access to the property, to the accommodations, this was top notch! The pool was always cleaned (1x per week) and the hot tub, as well! Everything was there that we needed, and even extras in the extra fridge. Jack and Nida are excellent hosts! We were one of the first guests in the 2 bedroom home and could not have been more comfortable! If you get a chance... rent from them!
This was our first trip to Hawaii. I researched for months. Our first two properties were booked by the time we were booking. Oh, darn! We got the much, much, much better deal with Jack & Nida's home! We were here for 2 weeks and do not want to leave! It is clean, loved, and well-kept. They have a pool lady that comes in weekly, a gal that cleans the home and studio, and a gardener. Nida was on top of the ball in getting us all of the info we needed to get to the home from Hilo (or Kona, if that is from where you are flying into), the code to get the key, information, and who was staying in the Ohana during our stay (one couple with whom we made fast friends!). This is NOT recommended for families with small children due to the pool and the proximity of the rocks/rough cliff area! The pool is 3 stairs to a 4', then goes to 7' immediately.
We went to Kona for 2 days (Thanksgiving for Laua and just to go to Kona). We wanted to come back quickly! It is quite the oasis, especially with noone else on the property! The hot tub is perfect (would be more for 4 than 6). The beds are extremely comfortable and the storage space in dressers and closets is MORE THAN SUFFICIENT!! There is AC in the main bedroom to turn on at night (to cross breezes are sufficient during the day), and a dehumidifier in the 2nd bedroom and the main living area. We didn't use either as the cross breezes kept the house more than comfortable.
The coqui (tree frogs) take a day to get used to, but we are going to miss them in Nebraska. I even tape recorded them! There is one neighbor next door, but it, too, is a vacation rental and is currently being renovated. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful . We even looked at properties in the area! There are 3 stairs to get into the property, so a wheelchair accessibility would be difficult, but cane is fine! I am recommending this place to everyone I know. So much better than a resort or hotel!!!
Proximity to everything: quick, quick quick! We saw everything in the entire island to see and went snorkeling 4x (the Kapaho Tide Pools are only 20 minutes away). Hilo is 25 minutes to downtown. Make sure you hit both Farmer's Markets: Maku'u on Sundays and Hilo's on Saturday or Wednesday!
This house was the icing on the cake for our vacation. Having once lived in Hawaiian Paradise Park, staying here was like going home. It was very private with a wonderful view and a short walk to see the Sea Turtles during high tide. Nothing better than watching the ocean and the waves while you float in the pool! Lots of out door living space with area's for sun and area's to get out of the occasional tropical rains. We rented both the main house and the studio which worked out great for us. The house is beautiful and the kitchen is well stocked with dishes and cookware. The owners called to check in with us and we found that a nice personal touch. Next trip, I'll definitely stay at this house again.
I would definitely recommend this property if you want a relaxing and beautiful vacation spot
We wanted to get away from it all and yet be close enough to see the sights and have a good Wi-Fi, mission accomplished!
The place is really private and we would recommend this to anyone!
It's as pictured and better!
We had everything we needed beachtowels, coolers included
The outdoor living space was greatly appreciated as well as all the ceiling fans and aircon in the bedroom, which we didn't need to use for more than a few minutes before going to sleep. The one hour auto-off button is great.
We loved the pool and the hottub as well as the sound of the waves and beauty of the area. There are so many things to do on the big island, we will have to come back for a longer stay next time...we will DEFINITELY return to this vacation rental, its an AMAZING place for really great value! We had everything we needed here, and it is better than pictured!
Stay HERE so you can see the TROPICAL side of the BIG ISLAND..its not dry and voggy like Kona, its LUSH and beautiful...LOTS TO SEE and not far to go to VOLCANO NATIONAL PARK!!!! close to :Hilo has pretty much everything, museums, theatre, movies, malls, beaches, airport, horseback riding and waterfalls, just abit beyond. People do own horses in HPP (Hawaiian Paradise Park)
Great restaurants in PAHOA too, is a mile closer to us than Keaau which has mostly fast foods and a few restaurants .. COME SEE PAHOA before LAVA may cut off the town or shut it down....one Thai restaurant left, another remains! We love Kaleo's and the TIN SHACK BAKERY is yummy for FULL breakfasts
