Property description

Enjoy this beautiful private estate situated in the hills above Malaga.
As well as being one of the few remaining classic Andalucian farmhouses, the location is unique:a totally private valley on the edge of Malaga city -just five miles as the crow flies from Malaga cathedral. You can be in the city centre, at the beach or in the airport in under 20 minutes. The nearest supermarket is under 10 minutes away and in the village are seven bar/restaurants.
The house sits in 91 secluded acres of rolling hills with abundant olive, almond and carob groves. There are wonderful panoramic views to the western Montes and the Mediterranean Sea. The home dates from 1854 and was originally an olive mill built in traditional style with brick, stone, and stucco. All the rooms have beamed ceilings and the floors in the house are tiled in original terracotta. In the mill itself -an integral part of the home- the original stones and press are still intact and there is a large wood-burning stove. The house has been restored using original Andalucian materials, colours and design features while offering all modern conveniences, from the fully equipped modern kitchen and bathrooms to broadband internet connection and satellite TV.

The ground floor consists of four main rooms. The olive mill which is a large airy room, is often used as a room for entertaining. There is a large salon made up of a sitting and dining area with a fireplace giving the room a very cozy feel. There is also a guest bedroom on the ground floor with up to 5 beds. The spacious kitchen, which is fully equipped with all the modern conveniences and a long refectory table , also has an open fireplace and which makes for a wonderful place to enjoy dinner. Step out of the kitchen to one of the three terraces around the main house and the barbecue area.

The first floor has two bedrooms with queen-size beds and two bedroom suites with king-size beds, one with a small childs' room adjacent.

In the evening enjoy the city lights of Malaga from the pool and terrace area there. There is a one bedroom cabana with a kitchen and full bath at the pool side. The main house is fully modernized 19th century olive mill, with all the warmth and charm you can expect of a Spanish country home. Its location makes it ideal if you would like privacy, peace and quiet for yoga or meditation retreats. Las Adelfas has also hosted business seminars and weddings. Being in the beautiful unspoiled Montes there is a wealth of birdlife to observe and the Torcal nature reserve is just to the north.
