Other than the bed being a little hard (bring a mattress pad), staying on the boat was a fantastic experience. So many places to eat or drink are within a short walking distance. Those that aren’t within walking distance are an easy drive from this central, convenient location. The boat is clean and well maintained. We had an issue with the boat that Ken quickly and graciously fixed. I loved sitting on the bridge watching the sunset, drinking a few local craft beers, and listening to music. Great people watching, as both the boardwalk and waterways stay busy with walkers and boaters. However, none of that matches mornings on the Amanda Jane. Drinking coffee while watching our new dolphin friend swim around was truly magical. Thanks Ken. We will be back.
Thanks Doug I’m happy you enjoyed your time onboard
I like a hard mattress and never thought to change it but I’m going to look into it
See you soon thanks again
Amanda Jane has become family tradition
We stayed on Amanda Jane last year for the first time and enjoyed it so much we returned this year. I am in town yearly for a work related meeting that we have turned into a mini vacation. We have decided to make Amanda Jane part of our family tradition for a mini vacation every year. Ken, the boat's captain is the hostess with the mostest! Thank you Ken for sharing Amanda Jane with our family!
I am so happy you enjoy Amanda Jane as much as I do! Thanks for staying , see you next year
My husband and I loved staying on the Amanda Jane. We saw Daphnis and manatee every day. Lots of great people watching, too. Ken, the owner, is great, too. He responded quickly to my questions. It was a lot of fun!
Well maintained boat clean and comfortable. The boat was spacioua
Enjoyed every minute of the stay. Shem Creek is a great location. The sunsets and sunrise were awesome. Close to restaurants we could hop right off the boat and eat lunch or dinner. I would recommend renting kayaks or paddle boards right there in Shem Creek. We would absolutely do it again
Glad we tried staying on a boat. Don't know if I feel the need to do it again (but the bad weather (9 inches of rain in two days) influences my opinion
Judy I agree with you about the rain, unfortunately I have no control over the weather. If you want to come stay again I will discount the rate and hopefully the weather is better. Thanks for staying
The boat is docked in a great location. You can view dolphins, paddle kayaking, boats, plus walking people on boardwalk. Restaurant & Bars on both sides of creek. Boat was bigger on the inside then expected- this was a first time experience on a boat instead of a motel room. Nice shower & sitting area.Great for family of 4 or less. We had 2 adults & 2 children, one slept on couch. We were on board for 2 nights, the only drawbacks that we did not anticipate was the noise of flushing the toilet during the bedtime hours & the fishing charter boat in front of our boat that left very early in the mornings ( 4:30 or 5 AM)- engines were noisy . Other than these waking sounds , it was a great experience.
