About Tracy Zielinski

I purchased this resort knowing it needed much work in order to get it up and running. It has taken many man hours to renovate the resort while still keeping the 'up north' charm, but it was worth every minute. It was always a dream of mine to own a resort and provide a place in Northern Michigan where guests could come and enjoy what I get to enjoy every day. There is just something about being 'up north' that immediately relaxes you and takes all of life's stresses away! I recently relocated to National City full-time to get away from a stressful job and allow me to put more time into my business. We have made many awesome improvements over the past 4.5 years and I hope you enjoy them as much as my family does!

Tracy Zielinski purchased this cottage in 2000

Very cozy. Very inviting.

  • 5 of 5

The "lodge", was wonderful. Very cozy, very inviting and VERY CLEAN.

The kitchen was fully equipped. There were plenty of towels, blankets, sheets etc.

If you're looking for a cozy get away (we stayed in Feb....lots of snow) The Lodge is the place to stay.

We'll go back.

Perfect little Gem

  • 5 of 5

What a wonderful place. The main lodge has everything you could possibly need. I was surprised by the amount of kitchen items I could cook an entire thanksgiving dinner there. Everything was very clean and decorated perfectly. My 3 year old even had a blast he cried when we had to leave. Defiantly would stay there again.

Triathlon Weekend

  • 5 of 5

Fantastic! The weekend was great and in large part because of the facility. It all worked tremendously better than using hotel rooms as we normally do. The kitchen and living rooms were very useful but the garage was a true luxury for prepping our bikes and storing our gear. Thanks so much for a great weekend.

Family with children

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 5 and our extended family of 4 all stayed at the main lodge for 3 nights, 4 days. We couldn't have asked for a more comfortable, well equipped place. The main lodge is beautiful and includes everything that you might need from kitchen utensils to blankets, to a blow up mattress. The resort itself is beautiful, as well. The lake is gorgeous and the beach area is sandy and clean. The owner also provides beach toys, paddle boards, a paddle boat and kayak for guest use. I would highly recommend this resort to those with young and teen children.

This was my first experience renting from VRBO/Homeaway and I AM HOOKED!! Finding Tracy and her "Little Island Rustic Resort" was such a huge BleSSing!!! I`m so crazy about this hip little Rustic chic Resort, that for one BREIF moment, my family and I actually contemplated NOT writing a review.... lol ~ Because then EVERYONE would know our secret Treasurer and we wouldn't be able to get a reservation anymore..... : ) Terrible I Know.... But I am screaming because Tracy has done such an amazing job in designing, and working hard to seeing her resort grow into something beautiful!!! Flowers so gorgeous I thought they were fake!!! CLEAN... CLEAN... CLEAN & CLEAN ... If my family of neat freaks who scruitinize everything says it clean and is!! We stayed in the Main Lodge and the thing I liked the best was ..... if I had a super cute cottage here on this lake~ its exactly how I would have decorated it. and Customer Service was off the charts, several things we wanted to rent ie.. Jet ski and bikes, Not a problem, she stopped what she was doing and got them. she even pulled the Jet ski out of the other Lake, no problem!! Cabins are right on water... gorgeous views from all... beautiful sandy beach and if that wasn't quite enough....... there in the middle of the National Forest. Bike riding and trail hiking at its best. All at a reasonable price, because we all know what most people charge for cabins on a lake!! thank you, Tracy for bring a beautiful resort to fruition for all the ages to ENJOY!

Little Island Rustic Resort is located in the Seven Lakes Area. It is a quiet family oriented area, but just 10 minutes from downtown E. Tawas with shops, restaurants, and bars. The Lumberman's Monument - Huron National Forest is just 12 miles away. There are many summer and winter festivals is the area.
