About Janice Kelly

The large picture windows face west for a view of the mountains and ski area. We have a large extended family. We think the house is perfect for family reunions and/or just relaxing.

Janice Kelly purchased this house in 2006

Why Janice Kelly chose Baldy Mountain

We enjoy being in the mountains. We bought this home because it is within walking distance from the town of Breckenridge. The home feels like a cabin in the woods, but has all the modern day conveniences, including cellphone reception, wireless internet, cable TV and espresso machine. The house backs to open space and the woods, but is also only minutes away from the restaurants, shopping and groceries stores.

What makes this house unique

Our home is spacious and is wonderful for 2 or 3 families. The large great room adjoins the kitchen, so that everyone in the group can visit and be together, even during meal preparation. The house also offers enough bedrooms so that guests can get away for some privacy.

The house has two outdoor decks and a large parking area.

Wonderful Thanksgiving in Breckenridge

  • 4 of 5

We were a group of 9 adults, 3 children and 2 dog's. The house was plenty big enough for all of us and there was everything you needed to live comfortably while we were there. One of the things we were concerned about was ....would there be enough hot water for all of us? We never ran out of hot water at any time and believe me we were doing lots of dishes and showers/baths.

While we were preparing for our trip, the owner of the house communicated and answered any of the questions or concerns we had. To know that the owner's lived within driving distance to this house was reassuring in case something broke down.

One recommendation I feel should be added to the description of the property is that there is actually 2 kitchen's in the house which made making our Thanksgiving Dinner easy to prepare and plenty of oven/stove space to do it in!

All the comforts of home and a hot tub too!

  • 5 of 5

We recently spent our vacation to Breckenridge in this large, comfortable home. The one problem we had was quickly remedied with a call to the owner. We had 8 people in our party, and each couple had their own bathroom either in their bedroom suite or nearby. There is ample room for more guests as well. The family/living area is huge, with plenty of comfy seating, a big screen TV (we enjoyed the Olympics coverage on it) and even a massage chair! The lower level contains a Mother-in-Law's apartment with a bedroom, bath, living room with TV and another kitchen. We enjoy hiking, and the neighborhood itself makes for nice walks. Downtown Breck is within walking distance, though we always drove the 5 minute or so trip in the car. The home is far enough into the woods that we enjoyed seeing wildlife; a gorgeous fox sometimes came near the deck and we were able to get within a few feet of it. One evening around dusk I saw a bear walking in the street! Did I mention the hot tub? It was perfect for relaxing the muscles after a day of hiking, and the cool nights in the mountains made the warm water just perfect. After the relaxing week we spent at this home, we somehow managed to leave our dog's collar there, and the owner was gracious enough to mail it to us. Thank you for a great vacation!

House in good location

  • 3 of 5

My family and I (nine of us) enjoyed the house location and its basic amenities. The view from hot tub was awesome and the 10 minutes drive to the gondola was great. The living room and fireplace made for an enjoyable location to share ski stories and some laughs. Kitchen was adequate with more than enough utensils and dishes. The WiFi worked so some of us could check in with our offices. Could not really figure out how to run the tv or sound system - we used our own devices and the WiFi. We did have issue with the house not being very clean overall. House operating instructions were not up to date and we did not know what to do at check out time. So we stripped the beds and placed all towels, etc in the laundry room. There was a banging noise in the wall in the main floor bedroom. And being a light sleeper, it was not conducive to sleep. This started every night around 10PM and lasted until 7AM. The upstairs bathrooms were small. The beds were comfortable. Overall a very convenient place to stay for a ski vacation.

Owner's Response: Judy, I wish you had called about the banging pipes. We have the boiler serviced at the beginning of each winter, but air gets into the pipes. We will have it serviced again.

Great mountain weekend!

  • 5 of 5

We had a nice time at the Breckenridge house. The house was comfortable with room to spread out in for our group. The kitchen also was stocked with common ingredients which was much appreciated. Views and surrounding area were great. We would definitely stay again!

Cozy and Close to Town

  • 5 of 5

Two full families stayed here for a family reunion. Mom stayed down in the fully functional (kitchen, living room, bathroom) basement with a door that leads out to the driveway. In addition, there are 3 rooms upstairs and 1 on the main floor. 2 of the rooms upstairs have bunk beds. So there is ample sleeping space. However, the mattresses on the top bunks are pretty firm. The fire place is fantastic and the house was stocked with plenty of cut wood. The hot tub was amazing! Great size and always stayed hot enough for us. There wasn't much snow but if there was, it would be tough to get out of the driveway without AWD. The back yard is very spacious and backs up to the open woods. We were greeted by a large female moose one morning that stuck around for the kids to see. I would highly recommend this property to anyone!

Fantastic House and Location

  • 5 of 5

Spent Christmas in the house with a bunch of kids/adults and 2 dogs. Great house. Plenty of room for everyone. Location was great. The street leading up to the house was a bit icy (we had to get chains for one of the cars) but the 4x4 cars had no trouble. Nothing but good things to say about our stay.
