Come stay at this wonderful Remodeled and newly furnished home just 3 blocks from the Arapahoe National Forest that holds the Mt Evans Wilderness area which has not been developed and is kept like its been for the last thousand years. Huge wood deck for wonderful evenings under the stars. Deer visit the home daily and have eaten out of our hands and there is an occasional moose sighting as well. Hiking trails into wilderness area 2 block away. National Forrest shooting area 15 minutes away. Home is roughly 15 minutes off of highway 285. There is also a neighborhood lake with huge rainbow and brown trout and you will definitely see Golden trout if you feed them with the fish food that is available for 25 cents at the lake. It is about 3/8 mile west of the home. You can also fish here with artificial bait only and must follow the rules outlined at the home. There are 3 bedrooms upstairs and a studio type sleeping area on the main level with privacy. Huge great room with Hi Definition TV and cable tv as well as Netflix. A wood stove to keep you warm and allow you to have that wonderful mountain cabin feel. Large leather couches to stretch out on and relax.

The remodeled kitchen has slab granite surfaces and all new stainless appliances.

A very easy home to get to in the winter with paved plowed roads to within 2 blocks of the home. It has a flat driveway which is great for winter navigation as well. Exceptional views of Mount Logan and it's massive cirque, Bandit Peak and Meredian Ridge from the 2 decks.

For a close driving trip we definitely recommend Guanella Pass which is just west of Bailey. The turn off is in the small town of Grant just 10 minutes west of Bailey. Follow a really nice road to almost 12,000 feet and enjoy the incredible views and cool weather at this elevation even on hot summer days. The trip from the house to the top of the pass is under an hour and you can continue on to visit unique Georgetown which is another 45 minutes. You will be glad you made this trip.

About Paul Reisbeck

We live in the Denver area and also use this home frequently ourselves when we come up to maintain and further improve it. We are natives to the state of Colorado and chose this property for it's location and views.

Paul Reisbeck purchased this house in 2013

Why Paul Reisbeck chose South Central

It has spectacular views of Mt Logan and Luther's Cirque, Bandit Peak and Meridian ridge. It has a wonder front deck that is a great spot to watch evening sunsets. Also a great upper deck great for suntanning if weather allows. Spectacular hiking trails close by that lead into the Mt Evans Wilderness Area. You may encounter moose, bighorn sheep, deer and elk on your hikes.

What makes this house unique

There is a Forest Service shooting area within 15 minutes of the home for sport clays, handguns and sighting in long rifles. No fee and it is just a come and enjoy.

Relaxing, peaceful and great location.

  • 4 of 5

We had 6 adults and 1 6-month old stay at this home. It was the perfect location for us to take Day trips to surrounding areas. We hiked Rosalie Trail, kayaked & stand-up paddle boarded at Wellington Lake and this house provided the perfect place for us to come "home" and unwind from our full day. The seating area had more than enough space for us to all sit in the same room and talk. On our final night the upper most deck provided the perfect viewing area for the meteor shower. I highly recommend this home to anyone who wants to enjoy the solitude of the mountains but to be close enough to find plenty to do.

Nice place, plenty of space and beautiful scenery

  • 5 of 5

The Mountian Home was great for my family. They had a nice pond down the road that has lots of trout. It is about a 20 minute drive to the highway, lots of deer and some elk at dusk. Nice and comfortable stay.

Lovely mountain home

  • 4 of 5

This is a beautiful property and mountain home. We really enjoyed being so far out in nature. The hosts did a wonderful job of staging the house, although there were some basics missing that would have made things more convenient (only one roll of toilet paper in each bathroom and no paper towel). The decor was more religious than I would have expected for a rental property (there were large decorative crosses in every room, including a huge one with barbed wire in the bathroom), but the home was beautifully decorated otherwise. There are four beds and two of them were quite comfortable, but the third bed was extremely hard and the twin beds pushed together were too short if you are 5'9'' or over.

Loved this place!

  • 5 of 5

Wonderful, spacious home with all the amenities! We loved every aspect of this home - gorgeous kitchen and family room, well appointed bedrooms and kitchen, multiple places to eat with plenty of dinnerware settings, excellent 'mountain home' feel and many touches that make you fell right at home. We ate our breakfasts on the balcony and settled there for sunset several evenings- what a spectacular view! Saw several deer, fed fish at the pond, and relaxed thoroughly. Thank you for sharing your home and making us feel like we belonged. It was a special part of our trip that we will always remember!
