About Jeff Elliott

We have lived in Michigan all our lives and really love the 'up- north' experience. We camped for many years around the state and finally decided to purchase property in this area because there is so much to do, no matter what the season is. Our dream was to own waterfront property and as soon as we saw the area, we knew this was the place for our family to enjoy for many years to come. We have made so many wonderful family memories and we hope that you will come and stay and make cherished memories of your own.

Jeff Elliott purchased this cabin in 2009

Why Jeff Elliott chose Saint Helen

We wanted to have waterfront property which would provide a beautiful view and relaxation. We love that the lake is quiet and not crowded, and would allow us to enjoy fun water activities such as swimming, fishing, tubing, and riding on our PWC and pontoon. It is really nice having a sandy beach too. We love the serene setting and surrounding areas of wildlife. The area is great for riding ATVs and snowmobiles too. Our family likes to downhill ski and so we often drive to Boyne in the winter to enjoy some of Michigan's finest skiing. It is also close to several golf courses.

What makes this cabin unique

After purchasing this property, we waited two years to build our home. We wanted to build something special that we could enjoy for many years to come. Once looking at plans, we knew we wanted to build a home from logs. We chose a floor plan that would allow us to see the amazing views from every room. We put the finishing touches on our furnishings to create a warm, comfortable, cozy cabin. Behind our cabin, there are more than 6 acres of wooded land with a pond that is adjacent to State land.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Fabulous time! Wow, what a home! Great for kids!

  • 5 of 5

We just recently stayed for week at this beautiful cabin and my family absolutely loved it! We had 4 kids with us ages 11, 9, 8, and 5 and they stayed busy the entire week with all of the things to do. They fished, swam, built sand castles, played and ate lunch in the playset, fished some more, kayaked, jumped off the dock and on our 1 rainy day they were overwhelmed with choices of board games, movies, and video games. The lake water temperature was perfect for water tubing and kayaking and we didn't miss a single day. My dad swam a total of just around 12 miles around the lake during our time there.

We had an absolutely wonderful time during our stay and I would recommend this property to anyone. The pictures on VRBO don't do the property justice and you can't get the full experience without the wonderful wood smell inside the house.

My only regret is not bringing my ATV's with me. I had no clue that there was such a plethora of trails to ride only 0.10 miles from the cabin!

FYI my 2 sons caught the biggest bass of their lives right off of the dock! I wish I could post some pictures just to show how big these things really were! Enormous!

Last thing...the owners were an absolute pleasure to deal with. They take every step to make sure that your stay is a pleasurable one. Their timely communication was nothing like I have ever experienced in renting any property. Thank you!

Fabulous Setting!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful week on this lake with family. The home was absolutely perfect with all of the amenities you could ask for! The use of a pontoon boat with tube included was a highlight for us, along with the huge deck and beach. The lake is peaceful and provides beautiful sunsets! A great setting to get away and shut down for rest and relaxation!

Where do you live?

Very clean, wonderful family spot

  • 5 of 5

My family stayed at this house for a week. We really enjoyed the quiet atmosphere. It is not a party lake, so don't expect that. It is a beautiful getaway in the woods. The pontoon boat was perfect, we pulled the kids on the tube all over the lake, and there was only one other boat on the lake. The loons were calling, and we saw deer. The beach was a great asset as well, and the water was sandy for a bit before it got mucky. We loved the kayaking, went every day. The house was extremely clean, which was a wonderful plus. Only downside is the stores are 15-20 minutes away, so plan accordingly. I would without a doubt stay here again.

Absolutely perfect!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed as a group of 12 in this house and we had plenty of room! We had 3 families each consisting of 2 adults and 2 kids. All of the kids were 8 years and under. The water is shallow enough that the parents could relax and let the kids play all day. It felt like we had the lake to ourselves! The house is VERY clean and the owners were absolutely wonderful to work with! The house is stocked with anything you could ever need. We will be back!! Thank you for a great time and wonderful memories that will last a lifetime!
