About Jeff Elliott

We have lived in Michigan all our lives and really love the 'up- north' experience. We camped for many years around the state and finally decided to purchase property in this area because there is so much to do, no matter what the season is. Our dream was to own waterfront property and as soon as we saw the area, we knew this was the place for our family to enjoy for many years to come. We have made so many wonderful family memories and we hope that you will come and stay and make cherished memories of your own.

Jeff Elliott purchased this cabin in 2009

Why Jeff Elliott chose Lake St. Helen

We wanted to have waterfront property which would provide a beautiful view and relaxation. We love that the lake is quiet and not crowded, and would allow us to enjoy fun water activities such as swimming, fishing, tubing, and riding on our PWC and pontoon. It is really nice having a sandy beach too. We love the serene setting and surrounding areas of wildlife. The area is great for riding ATVs and snowmobiles too. Our family likes to downhill ski and so we often drive to Boyne in the winter to enjoy some of Michigan's finest skiing. It is also close to several golf courses.

What makes this cabin unique

After purchasing this property, we waited two years to build our home. We wanted to build something special that we could enjoy for many years to come. Once looking at plans, we knew we wanted to build a home from logs. We chose a floor plan that would allow us to see the amazing views from every room. We put the finishing touches on our furnishings to create a warm, comfortable, cozy cabin. Behind our cabin, there are more than 6 acres of wooded land with a pond that is adjacent to State land.

Absolutely perfect!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed as a group of 12 in this house and we had plenty of room! We had 3 families each consisting of 2 adults and 2 kids. All of the kids were 8 years and under. The water is shallow enough that the parents could relax and let the kids play all day. It felt like we had the lake to ourselves! The house is VERY clean and the owners were absolutely wonderful to work with! The house is stocked with anything you could ever need. We will be back!! Thank you for a great time and wonderful memories that will last a lifetime!

Amazing

  • 5 of 5

The cabin is even better in person than in the pictures. Such a wonderful place to be and relax. Owners are very helpful and check with you that everything is ok and as expected on arrival. We had children with us ages 12 and 9 and they loved the kayaks and just being around the water, they didn't even say they were bored! Overall excellent weekend.

Amazing experience

  • 5 of 5

I have to say, this is such a beautiful and CLEAN home! This was an awesome weekend to honor my mom while she is going through chemo/radiation with stage 3 cancer and I couldnt have been more happy with this rental! Not only again was it very clean and nicely taken care of, but the owners came and said hello as we entered and were very friendly. I was worried not having enough things to keep all 5 kids busy, but they shed is filled with outdoor stuff to do! It had fishing poles, kayaks, sand toys, water shoes and lifejackets, it has a pontoon available for rent which we didnt use but its a great option! You can kayak to a small island where the kids thoroughly enjoyed the mini adventure! This house is fully stocked with the necessities of a vacation home such as dishes, plastic ware, laundry area, enough blankets, cleaning stuff and towels etc. very great experience!

Outstanding vacation home.

  • 5 of 5

Great place for a family to relax and enjoy a wonderful vacation in a gorgeous home and lakeside setting. The fishing, the playscape for the grandkids, the kayaks for the adults, the beach, beachchairs, the wood for the fire pit and gas grill were all great and created lasting memories for everyone. The cottage easily accommodated six adults and six children, ages 16 months to 4 years of age. We are all in agreement that this would be a location to revisit for many years to come.

Memories made

  • 5 of 5

This is the hardest review I've ever written. Why? I want it to be available again for me. LOL.

The home, yes, I'll call it home, very clean, well stocked, beautiful lot, quiet. There were 9 of us. One child 10 years and 8 adults ages 21-69 years and enough room for us. We are picky people and were so pleased we didn't need to clean before we unpacked. There was plenty of storage for all items in kitchen, bath, and bedroom. The Kueriug spoiled me...it's on my Christmas list. we will be back. Thank you for the wonderful opportunity to share your beautiful home.
