Or step outside in the quiet hillside neighborhood on the porch or in the heated pool watch the mountain change colors in the sunset or planes drifting in to land in the far off Sky Harbor airport. If you like peace and beauty with access to the great restaurants, events and activities of a major city, this vacation home is for you, Extensively remodeled in 2009 and refreshed in 2014, it offers 4 bedrooms,3.5 baths, an open floor plan, a game/exercise room with kitchenette (fridge/micro/sink) and seating, a big heated pool -- all surrounded with mature desert landscaping with towering Saguaros, birds of paradise and paddle cactus. We are five minutes from Scottsdale, 5 to 10 from restaurants such as Postinos, FnB, LGO, Seasons 52. It is 10-15 minutes to downtown and museums and the sports arena. And it is easy freeway access to all the Spring Training baseball parking.

About Tony Polk

We moved down from Seattle in 2008 after we realized that everytime we visited Phoenix, our spirits lifted. Where once we spent our lives on jetplanes and doing business, now we found ourselves drinking in the natural beauty, wandering the botanical garden and the arboretum, hiking the mountain trails, exploring the wonderful art this area seems to inspire. Trained as an engineer at the University of Michigan, Sarah had been a technology and sales executive. In Arizona, she took up art and found she has a gift and love for it. A reporter in my early career -- AP,Rocky Mountain News -- I became an entrepreneur and business executive, I resumed writing some in Arizona. I continue doing some business, but on a whole different order of magnitude. We remodel a couple of homes a year; thankfully Sarah is a gifted designer so people want our homes. And we always take time for the beauty of the valley.

This hillside home is in the midst of nature but in the middle of the cities - from up-and-coming innovative restaurants and galleries to the more established in Phoenix or Scottsdale, it's just a few minutes in each direction.

PV puts you a short trip from golf courses, premiere shopping,spring training. With so many wonderful places to eat out, you may never eat in, but the gourmet kitchen has everything to cook up those veggies from one of three farmers markets within 7 miles,or two Whole Foods or three Trader Joes.

Privacy with a view

Celebrated our 28th anniversary at Tony's place. We found it easy to spend 4 days together there. Kitchen, gym equipment, pool, and plenty of space. Great setting looking over the pleasant side of camel back mountains,.

Wunderschoen - really wonderful

We - a family with two children from Germany - spent 15 nights in this house and had an unforgettable stay. We can not add anything to the reviews of the other guests. We enjoyed the stunning view, the peace on the hill and the tasteful, personal furnishings of the house - no Tuskany style or depressive dark wood from the 80s. We have searched the web for hours and hours for homes around Scottsdale. This is the best place to be. Close to everthing, yet very withdrawn.

Tony and Sarah were so great hosts.

Our 8 year old daughter wants us to emigrate from Hamburg and move into the house.

We'll come back for sure.

Wir - eine Familie mit zwei Kindern aus Deutschland - verbrachten 15 Nächte im Haus und hatten einen unvergesslichen Aufenthalt. den Beschreibungen der anderen Gäste können wir nichts hinzufügen. wir genossen den grandiosen Blick, die Ruhe am Hügel und die geschmackvolle, persönliche Einrichtung des Hauses - kein pseudo „Toskana Stil“ oder depressive dunkle Holzeinrichtung aus den 80ern. Wir haben stundenlang im Internet nach Häuser bei Scottsdale gesucht. Dies ist der beste Platz. Nah zu allem und trotzdem total zurückgezogen.

Tony und Sarah waren großartige Gastgeber. Unsere 8 jährige Tochter möchte, dass wir aus Hamburg auswandern und in das Haus ziehen. Wir kommen wieder.

A++ to Hosts and House! Great location, views, and layout!

I will try to keep this brief but, I have so many GREAT things to say about the hosts and home I cannot make any promises. From booking to checkout, Tony and Sarah treated us more as friends than renters. Tony reached out almost immediately to confirm the booking and touched based leading up to the trio with pages of extremely helpful/useful information - checkin/checkout tidbits, nearby grocery stores/shopping, their favorite restaurants, hiking trails, community activities (I think you get it - they put everything we did not even realize we wanted to know in our hands)... and that was before we even arrived!

We were met at the house when we arrived and got a quick run through of light switches, shades, remotes, and basic ins and outs of the house. (Nothing is worse than spending 10 minutes trying to turn on the patio lights or having to open every cabinet to find towels.) The house is extremely neat and tidy, yet still stocked with the neccesscities, and most notably beautiful and welcoming for whatever your group dynamic might be. The refrigerator was even stocked with Fiji water with a baskets of fresh snacks (including Trader Joe truffles now on my regular shopping list).

And the VIEWS - pictures cannot do them justice. I felt like I was staying on a top floor of a resort when looking out/on the patio. For the privacy the house offered, it is still extremely close to anything you might be looking to do - hiking, shopping, downtown Scottsdale, Entertainment District, etc.

Our trip was in May so, we clearly took advantage of the pool - and of course, pool towels, floats, and tanning chairs were out for us. One great thing I did not notice in pictures was a convenient downstairs kitchenette for heating up snacks and refreshing drinks!

Our group was 6 adult women and the great layout (and number of bathrooms) we all had our own space to get ready/sleep, but there are gathering areas all over the house for when you want them!

We did rent a Tahoe because between the grocery store and airports runs it was economical but, did use Uber/Lyft when going out in the evenings (and they could find the house without problem).

I will 100% look to book this house again if ever out that way with a group again!

This was a beautiful property that was built for relaxing

We travelled with our three kids and nanny and just loved this house. Tony and Sarah were great hosts and Tony was there to let us in and show us around. The house was very user friendly and we had tons of space and really enjoyed the view of the surrounding mountain and of course the pool - my kids couldn't get enough of the pool! Our only wish - with a trip of only 4 1/2 days we wish we had more time! Will definitely visit again.
