About Tony Polk

We moved down from Seattle in 2008 after we realized that everytime we visited Phoenix, our spirits lifted. Where once we spent our lives on jetplanes and doing business, now we found ourselves drinking in the natural beauty, wandering the botanical garden and the arboretum, hiking the mountain trails, exploring the wonderful art this area seems to inspire. Trained as an engineer at the University of Michigan, Sarah had been a technology and sales executive. In Arizona, she took up art and found she has a gift and love for it. A reporter in my early career -- AP,Rocky Mountain News -- I became an entrepreneur and business executive, I resumed writing some in Arizona. I continue doing some business, but on a whole different order of magnitude. We remodel a couple of homes a year; thankfully Sarah is a gifted designer so people want our homes. And we always take time for the beauty of the valley.

Tony Polk purchased this house in 2007

Why Tony Polk chose Paradise Hills Estates

VIEWS,VIEWS, VIEWS ...There are so many places to sit and revel in the wonderful views. This hillside home is in the midst of nature but in the middle of the cities - from up-and-coming innovative restaurants and galleries to the more established in Phoenix or Scottsdale, it's just a few minutes in each direction.

PV puts you a short trip from golf courses, premiere shopping, spring training. With so many wonderful places to eat out, you may never eat in, but the gourmet kitchen has everything to cook up those veggies from one of three farmers markets within 7 miles,or two Whole Foods or three Trader Joes.

What makes this house unique

We live close by and are regularly updating the home as we seek to improve it. Just this year we repainted all the bedrooms in a brighter color and redecorated them, added a chandelier over the master bathtub, and added tv's into all the bedrooms.

Also, thinking of comfort and convenience we've added an extra sidetable here or chair there so you have somewhere to put your coffee or sit down while you take off your shoes.

Experiencing the Lux Life

  • 5 of 5

My family and I stayed at this house a couple years ago; we loved it even more this time. The owners have added more modern & comfortable chairs by the tv, and made some other changes. I just love it! I put my feet up, Woodford Reserve in my glass, and felt like I was living inside the most beautiful picture drawn by Mad Men (a little mid-century modern, a little eclectic, a lot of luxury). I think back to this time as a time I could relish being still, staring at the natural beauty in the garden and Camelback Mountain.

Paradise in Phoenix

  • 5 of 5

We really had a beautiful time at this home. The views of Camelback were sensational everywhere. The rooms, each with its own bathroom, were comfortable and decorated beautifully. Master bedroom spacious and luxurious. I particularly loved the kitchen, fully equipped and more, with it's comfortable sitting area and more views of the mountains right out the windows. The pool was clean and refreshing--good for laps. Great TV and lots of streaming choices in a charmingly decorated enormous living room. When we come back to Phoenix, we don't want to stay anywhere else.

Wonderful!

  • 5 of 5

Our stay in Paradise Valley was wonderful. We received a very warm welcome from Tony and Sarah, and were nicely surprised by the treats in the welcome basket and the fridge! Much appreciated after our long journey- thank you.

As others have said, the house does not disappoint. The views are beautiful and there is every comfort you could wish for. The location is fantastic, very peaceful but within an easy drive of Scottsdale and Phoenix.

There are lots of different spaces in the house, all beautifully designed so it’s easy to find a quiet place to read , relax or just take In the views if that’s what you want. The pool are is great , nicely heated for a splash around and plenty of very comfortable loungers if you just want to enjoy the sun. The kitchen is really well equipped - keen cooks will love it!

Tony and Sarah were a pleasure to deal with and were only a text or a call away if we needed help .Great house , great owners, highly recommended.

Amazing Views Beautiful Updated Home

  • 5 of 5

Just got back from an amazing few perfect days at Sarah and Tony’s Paradise Valley home. It was so hard to leave! Had a girls getaway with my oldest friends... We lounged around in robes by the pool, or chatted by the kitchen. Always in the background those amazing views! I wish I could stay there forever. So very clean, best I’ve experienced at a vacation rental.

The high end furnishings and little touches everywhere (welcome basket of goodies, a have one take one of easily forgotten things like toothbrushes and razors), were so perfect. We can’t wait to return.

Stunning location, sadly the interiors no longer look like the photos.

  • 2 of 5

What a shame, this is a great location with beautiful views and a nice pool. But someone has filled the house with Hobby Lobby furniture, plastic plants, cheap mirrors, kitty cat art, and have lost the original intention of a modern home. They have added beds to every corner of the house to make it a party rental. The master bedroom sleeps five? The garage is a mess, routine maintenance is being overlooked and sadly someone has changed what was once a truly special home. We were so disappointed.

Owner's Response: We are so sorry the home didn’t meet your expectations. We work very hard to keep the home updated (in both design and maintenance). We do love modern design, but are not purists and we do love a bit of whimsy. So while our entry way’s low ceiling was inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright, other touches are just things we loved (original or commercial work). We did add a new pullout couch, and an extra twin bed - it gives parents and families choices. We want all our guests to feel comfortable and luxurious. New photos taken and posted November 2017.
