This is no ordinary rental. This lovely casa in the Founders Neighborhood is our cherished second home. Every item and furnishing was carefully chosen for aesthetics as well as comfort. We love our location right on the Paseo--steps away from street parking and the cafes (we love the new-urbanism pedestrian concept, but who wants to lug groceries through the villa?) The extra large terrace and viewing tower allows even more space for spreading out and soaking up the charming views of the village with its pleasing Spanish architecture, and the breathtaking views of the Sierra Giganta mountains. You will not be disappointed.
We are a family from Kansas City who went looking for adventure. We actually spent time living in Loreto Bay with our young daughter. We have wonderful stories to cherish of our time there. For us, Loreto Bay is a place like no other, a place to step out of one's normal life and recharge. We always return to the states refreshed and silly with 'serene attitude.'
Kelli L McDill purchased this villa in 2005
Baja Caifornia always appealed to us for its untamed status as well as its natural beauty. Going there is like going back in time. It is absolutely safe--we would never bring our daughter to an unsafe location. The local people are gracious and kind. We run into the most interesting people as the location attracts like-minded individuals who appreciate raw, rough beauty, an ocean teaming with marine life, old-world architecture, physical activity, and no mind to status, acquisitions, pampering. This is where you come to fall away from stress.
Any village 'Chica' is similar to all others. They are all lovely. We favor ours for its easy location to the street. We don't feel too isolated from the heart of the village which is basically the center of the Paseo. We also were able to add amenities not found in all other chicas like custom closets, an extra large terrace, and a 3rd storey tower structure which allows for spectacular viewing.
Please note that a portion of the building along streetside is a actually a commercial space. It is occupied by a tour guide and only open during daytime hours. However the rooftop terrace and pergola you see in the photos are ours.
Great neighborhood & property. Close to beach and walking distance to neighborhood restaurants. House was decorated nicely with authentic Mexican flair. Big patio/deck to lounge around. Wish there was a shuttle or bus service to downtown Loreto.
The property was exactly like what was shown in the photos. The large patio area was nice for relaxing with a book. We had some water leaking from the ceiling in the upstairs bathroom while it was raining. The bathtub was great. The location was very convenient. My only issue was the condition of the grout on the kitchen counter. I am a homeowner in Mexico & have spent a fair amount of time cleaning & sealing our own kitchen counter. We spent a lot of time at the golf course playing & at the restaurant. Loreto Bay does get very windy. Blustery winds come in & make it difficult to be outside. That gave us time for movies & more reading. I would stay at this location again. But, I doubt I'll visit Loreto Bay again.
Loreto Bay is a great place to stay with easy & quick access to the town of Loreto while enjoying the amenities of a resort style community. Loved the access to the beach & pools and the quiet at night. The FirstContact hosts were helpful, but not always available. Glad we had wi-fi. The decor, furnishings, books & games, etc were perfect for us. Since recycling is required in the community a 3 part garbage would be helpful. If/when we go to Loreto again would enjoy staying here again!
We had a wonderful time at the house. Super comfortable beds, pillows, towels, etc.
Conveniently located right by the coffee shop and lap pool.
The on site management team was super responsive to all our needs.
We could not have been happier.
What a wonderful place to stay in Loreto Bay! Close to everything, we especially appreciated the properties proximity to the El Corazon coffee house, a half a block away. We did have minor issues with the remote controls for the two dvd players, neither one worked, but we survived.
Wonderful time at this Casa which is the first one off the street and we thought parking would be a problem but there was always a spot open right near our Casa. A couple of nights we could hear the street noise and cars from the bedroom upstairs but overall it didn't continue after 11 pm as everything closes by this time at the latest!
Great amenities at the casa and we were able to find everything we were looking for after a quick search of cupboards and kitchen drawers. There was no wi fi or internet available when we were there but the cafe a few steps away had a good connection and we used this frequently and even after they were closed as password was given by very friendly staff. Went for coffee and smoothies there almost every day. The wine cellar was a real treat as the food was delightful and tasty at a reasonable price.
My only negative item to mention is that there were tiny black flies that come out at dusk and between them and the sand flees at the beach I was eaten alive and suffered so much that a trip to Loreto to Farmacia was needed. They fixed me up with Benydryl and cream to help with the itch so pack these items as may be essential. Not everyone reacts to these bugs but they really loved me!! Overall a great casa and close to restaurants, beach and pools. Would stay here again.

For a taste of local culture head in the town of Loreto, just 10 minutes north of Loreto Bay. There you will find plenty of restaurants, curios shops, a town plaza, old mission, banks and ATM, marina, and oceanside walkway. There are many other activities and sites to see that range from scenic drives, to boat excursions, and magnificant canyon hikes.
