The apartment is a gem hidden within a quiet,residential street , yet just a short walk away from the old town. It has a simple, soothing elegance. The high ceilings give a sense of spaciousness that is balanced by the warmth created by exquisite lighting. The result is sublime and etheral and nurturing to the soul---something to treasure and that we often seek in our busy lives.
Don't be put off by the building's outside appearance or the unattractive courtyard leading to the steps to the apartment, or to the three flights of stairs. Once inside #18 you will be impressed! This apartment is HUGE and yet wonderfully livable. Here are some of the features that make it so desirable.
* high ceilings
* excellent lighting throughout
* exquisite decorative details
* fully equipped kitchen with large refrigerator and lots of dinnerware and glasses
* good internet connection
* music available throughout the apartment
* large TV with CNN in English
* lots of DVDs
* comfortable bed
The apartment is ideally located--easy walking to the Old Town and to the Kazimierz area. Sylvwia, the manager, lives in the apartment below and is extremely helpful. So generous with her time and clearly a hard worker.
Were there any drawbacks? Only one: the shower is very small. But that's a minor problem easily overlooked by all the wonderful features of this beautiful apartment.
We're experienced VRBO renters, but this apartment exceeded all expectations. The rooms in the apartment are very spacious and well appointed. The bed is large and comfortable. The sofa (with hundreds of pillows) in the living room was awesome for cuddling and relaxing. The kitchen was turnkey. Nearby shops made it easy to fill the fridge and shelves. The internet worked perfectly - critical to keeping up with work projects and there were plenty of spots to spread out papers. The washer was fantastic. We carried only checked luggage for a 10 day trip (including Warsaw) and never ran out of clothes.
The location is perfect. It was an easy walk to the town square, the castle, the Jewish quarter, the myriad of local markets and every other place we explored. With the combination of Yelp and MapstoGo apps (I love both of them) we found fantastic restaurants.
Net even though the weather was a bit cold and windy, we had a terrific time. Our stay was made even better by Greta and Sylvia. Greta was terrific answering questions in advance of arrival and made the reservation process a cinch. Sylvia is the on-site manager and did a terrific job getting us acclimated.
High recommend this spot for a visit to Krakow
My husband and stayed in this roomy apartment for 5 nights and enjoyed it very much. As my review title shows, this is in a perfect location. Situated between Old Town and Kazimierz, everything you might want to do is walkable. But the building is on a quiet street and the apartment faces the inner courtyard.
We arrived by train from Warsaw and it was a lovely walk of about a mile along the Planty from the train station to the apartment. Each day we explored another part of the city on foot. The 3 flights of stairs were not an obstacle after a day of walking.
The apartment is large and airy. The kitchen is equipped with everything you might need and several grocery and convenience stores are nearby for supplies. It was nice to have a bath and a half. The bedroom is large and the bed is comfortable.
We can't say enough about Sylwia, the manager. She lives the floor below and was available for anything we needed. She explained how everything worked and loaded minutes onto a cell phone for us, although we didn't need it after all. She gladly arranged drivers to take us to Auschwitz, the salt mines, and the airport. The drivers she arranged both spoke English and were friendly and courteous and on time.
Krakow is a beautiful old city with a vibrant restaurant and social scene. I would recommend this city and this apartment to anyone, as long as stairs are not a problem.
There are only 2 errors I see in the description of this apartment. First is that there is not a clothes dryer. I wish there was. Our towels were rather stiff after air drying overnight. Second there are no longer bikes provided. However, bikes can be rented nearby.
Overall, this apartment was perfect for us.
Our stay was very comfortable in the apartment and met our every need. The host coordinated pick up from the airport and checked us into the property. The property was immaculate and recently remodeled. Great location to town square and restaurants. The only heads-up would be that the unit is on the third floor with no elevator.
We had a great stay at this apartment. It is spacious, very clean, and has a very comfortable bed. The location is on a quiet street and is exactly as described. The owner answered all inquiries very quickly, and her manager is a gem! Sylvia lives one floor down and provided groceries for our arrival and was available to answer any questions. She arranged for us to be met at the airport, arranged a driver for a whole day's trip to Auschwitz and a half day outing to the salt mine. The rate was very reasonable for all. The location of the apartment is between Old Town and the Jewish Quarter and was a short walk to both. The apartment was perfect for my husband and myself. I would hesitate to share it with other adults because the lounge becomes the second bedroom which you need to walk through to get from the bedroom to the bathroom. I would not hesitate to stay here again!
