Casa Amelda is located within the secure gated community of Palmyra, in the Vila Sol Spa and Golf resort just over a 20-minute drive from the Faro International airport. With its beautifully landscaped and meticulously maintained gardens and communal outdoor swimming pools, Palmyra provides a perfect getaway for young families, couples, or groups of friends.

This elegant 3 bedroom townhouse is a contemporary, well-appointed home where guests are welcome to settle in and just relax, or take advantage of all that the resort and the Vilamoura area has to offer.

The living area is spacious and bright, with custom furnishings and tailored window coverings. The dining table seats 8. The two large double sliding doors open onto the private ground-floor patio that faces the golf course and communal pool. On the patio, there is a table with seating for 6 and a BBQ. Internet and free Wi-Fi are standard, and media devices include a 46” flat-screen LED Smart TV (cable TV with 120 channels), a DVD player, and an MP3 Docking Station and speakers. There are books and games available for your use during your stay.

The kitchen is modern with oak cabinetry and granite countertops, and is fully equipped with premium brand oven, gas stove, fridge/freezer, microwave and dishwasher. Small appliances include a coffee maker, toaster, and an electric kettle. Plastic ware is provided for use with children’s mealtime or for food storage. Upon request, a high chair can be provided as well as a baby crib.

All three bedrooms are outfitted with superior mattresses, and high quality cotton linens and towels (500 gm). Separate large beach towels are also provided.

Master Bedroom:

Cheery and spacious with a golf-view balcony (including comfortable wicker seating for 2 plus a small table), this pleasant room has a King bed, along with a dressing table and mirror, a cozy armchair, a walk-in closet, and modern en-suite bathroom with 2 sinks and under-floor heating (standard for all bathrooms).

Second Bedroom:

2 extra-long twin beds*, en-suite bathroom with a single basin, a triple closet, street-facing balcony (including 2 rattan chairs and small table), and a dressing table/mirror complete this room.

*Please note that these beds can be made into one king bed or two twin beds depending on your party configuration.

Third Bedroom:

Located on the ground floor, off the entranceway, this room has a double bed, triple closet, and dressing table/mirror.

The top floor has a private sun terrace with 4 sun loungers. All-day sun, superb sunsets, and marvelous sea/golf course views toward the Vilamoura coastline enhance the exclusive experience at Casa Amelda.

The below-ground level has a laundry room with washer/dryer and direct access outside the door to 2 dedicated parking stalls in the secure underground parking structure

Activities within the Palmyra complex include quiet walks along communal pathways, swimming in any one of the 4 communal pools, or just relaxing in the private confines of the townhouse. The Vila Sol 27-hole championship golf course, driving range, and clubhouse, along with the 4-star Pestana Hotel, are located within a 10-minute walk from Palmyra’s front gates. There is a choice of 3 restaurants to choose from here and within 15 minutes, a pub and an upscale Italian restaurant are located at the entrance to Vila Sol resort. A large supermarket is within a 10-minute drive.

Quarteira town and expansive beaches are within a 10-minute drive, as is the vibrant Vilamoura marina. Here you will find beaches, restaurants, bars, coffee shops, water sports, boat trips, deep-sea fishing and dolphin watching excursions. The Vilamoura area boasts 5 championship 18-hole golf courses. Guests are eligible for discount golf bookings at Vila Sol and other courses in the area when staying at Casa Amelda.

We are Canadians resident in Malaysia, where we have lived for almost 15 years. We travel frequently, love to explore, and have always dreamed about owning a property in the Algarve. We find the Portuguese people are incredibly friendly, the area is steeped in history, the wine is amazing, and the food is delicious.

Why Nancy Dawe chose Algarve Region

After traveling the breadth of the Algarve region, we liked the feel of the Vilamoura area the best. There is foreign influence, but not too much as to dilute the character of the local people, English is widely spoken, and you can reach beautiful, quaint villages or ruins within just a 15-20 minute drive of Vila Sol. Or, you can chose to relax or walk on the beach, go shopping, or engage in water sports at the nearby marina. So much to like about it!

What makes this townhome unique

The Palmrya resort is immaculately maintained, family-friendly, and close to lots of amenities so quickly became our first choice when deciding where to invest. As recent golf enthusiasts, we love the fact that there is so much choice in premier golf courses within 5 km.

Fantastic, modern townhouse

The townhouse is fully equipped with everything you will possibly need for a relaxing holiday. Nancy the owner was a pleasure to deal with and was extremely efficient which made the whole process of renting the property very easy. Nancy supplied detailed directions and all relevant information needed for entering the gated complex and the townhouse itself.

Underground parking was brilliant, especially as we had a couple of days when it rained, which meant we could enter the townhouse from the underground parking without the need for getting very wet! In the summer this must be a huge benefit for keeping the car nice and cool.

The house itself was spotlessly clean and all the furniture is modern and in excellent condition. The beds are extremely comfortable (unlike many rented properties) and all the bedrooms and bathrooms are very spacious. Plenty of towels are included and changed during the week.

Nancy also surprised us with food in the fridge (bread, milk, eggs, juice, cold meats and cheese) and a good supply of fruit and wine.

The complex is beautifully maintained, with daily pool cleaning and garden maintenance. The complex is quite large with four areas of houses and communal pools, but during our stay it was very quiet (October half term).

The kitchen is fully equipped with modern appliances and has all the equipment needed to prepare meals and there is also a BBQ outside on the patio. We found two very good restaurants at the entrance into the Vila Sol complex and these were Wildfire Smokehouse and Wine Bistro (next to the Deli Cafe). Wildfire Smokehouse is very popular and reservations are needed (even out of season), the food was excellent and we paid €130 for two adults and one 12 year old (pricy but a lovely treat). The staff at the Wine Bistro are extremely friendly and offer a very warm welcome. The steaks were equally as good as at the Wildfire, but were less expensive.

You will definitely need a car for getting around, local supermarkets are about 2 or 3 miles away and it takes about 10 minutes to drive from the property down to the marina in Vilamoura. We had a lovely holiday and would definitely return in the future.

We stayed at Casa Amelda in August. We couldn't have chosen better. From the start Nancy was an absolute dream to deal with. On arrival at the townhouse there was a welcome tray with fruit, tea and coffee and the fridge was stocked with eggs, milk, ham and water. They had thought of everything

We loved the townhouse, which was immaculate, and we very quickly felt at home. The beds were big and very comfortable. We particularly liked the walk-in wardrobe in the master suite. The kitchen was very well stocked for crockery and utensils. The television had lots of English speaking channels and a DVD player.

The pool area is small but it suited us as it didn't get busy, we could always find sun beds. The roof terrace was lovely too.

We would definitely recommend Casa Amelda, in fact we have booked again for next year. Perfect!

Fabulous Townhouse

We have just returned from a great break in the Algarve at Casa Almeda. It is an a stunning townhouse, well positioned in the beautiful, well kept Palmyra resort. The house is very spacious and nicely decorated and also has a great outdoor space for relaxing in the sun. The house was well stocked with essentials on our arrival which was a nice touch by the owners. We were also allowed early access to the house due to our early arrival to change and drop bags whilst the cleaners got the house organised after previous tenants. I must comment that Nancy has been great to deal with.

There are a number of pools to choose from in Palmyra which kept the children happy, one which had a great little snack bar attached selling drinks and snacks.

We will definitely return to Casa Almeda in the future.

Fantastic Townhouse

We stayed at Casa Amelda between 6th and 20th June 2016, and chose the property mainly based on the reviews. We were not disapointed. It's a fantastic townhouse with loads of space. Bedrooms were a great size, as was the living/dining area which to be fair, we hardly used as meals were taken on the outside terrace. Great outside space, with the roof terrace having sun loungers and small balconys from all bedrooms. The ground floor terrace was great for meals and watching the sun go down whilst enjoying the local vino. The complex was quiet when we visited which made the place so peaceful. The gardens and pool were lovely with staff working on them daily. No problem with a crowded pool. The property was very clean and well equipt, and the maid service visited three times in our fortnight. For the golfers amongst us, Vila Sol clubhouse was a five minute walk. Massive supermarket just a few minutes drive away (Continente) Would recommend a hire car as its a good walk into Vilamoura and some of the roads do not have footpaths. Costs around €7.5 for a taxi. Communication with Nancy from booking to our arrival was flawless. Quick response guaranteed and details of the local management company should there be any problems(which there weren't )

We have been visiting the Vilamoura area for years, staying at different properties each time. I think we have finally found our perfect holiday home and cannot wait to return. Thanks Nancy.

Holiday Heaven

Casa Amelda is the best holiday house we have ever stopped in bar none.

Beautifully furnished and decorated. Fully equipped and spotlessly clean in a private gated estate with cool underground parking. A choice of private roof top or poolside sunbathing kept the sun lovers in the party happy and the shady balconies and patio were a quiet haven for the book readers. The owners and property managers were a pleasure to deal with. We shall return.
