About Lisa

We moved to the Black Hills 5 years ago and fell in love with the area. If you enjoy the outdoors, this is the place to be.

What makes this cabin unique

We fell in love with this property because of its beautiful location, the hills and valley. Also, the 100 year old Log home that also sits on the property. We completely renovated it in 2012/13 and it too is also available - VRBO #669913

Cozy Black Hills Getaway

  • 5 of 5

This cabin was great for our trip, I only wish we could have stayed longer! The location is probably the best part, very convenient to all the attractions. We fell in love with Custer State Park! The cabin is in a quiet residential neighborhood with easy access from the highway. The bathroom is very nice and the kitchen has everything you need, you could easily cook simple meals there. A quick drive into Custer or Hill City gives you shopping and dining options. It was prefect for us as a couple.

Lovely cabin, delightful host.

We will definitely rebook when we are in the Custer area. Very clean, quiet, comfortable and off the beaten path. The wifi did not work but that made for a wonderful unhooked weekend! Thanks Lisa!

Wonderful place and roomy!

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our time at your place. It is very cute and cozy!! It had all of the accommodations needed for a great stay. After a long day of venturing to the Black Hills, Mount Rushmore, needles highway and more It was nice to come back and be able to unwind, grill out on the charcoal grill and sit back and watch the deer come by.

Loved the place!

Great location, great amenities, great price, but wi-fi never worked.

  • 4 of 5

My fianceé and I spent a week in this cabin for our first major vacation. The cabin was in a beautiful, quiet residential area only a few minutes drive from both a town and a major tourist attraction. It was very spacious and well-furnished for the rental price - a perfect place to spend a week away! The only issue for us was the wi-fi. Since the area around the cabin has virtually no cell reception, we were hoping to let our families know we had arrived safely by using the wi-fi. Unfortunately, we were only able to connect to the Internet while either outside of the cabin or on one specific side of the bed, and the connection speed was too slow to actually do anything including basic messaging. I understand that the Internet is not an integral part of a sightseeing trip to the Black Hills, but it would have been useful to help plan our schedule, look up nearby attractions, or get help in case of an emergency. We found ourselves driving into town for the sole purpose of double-checking the viability of our plans on several occasions.

Overall, renting this cabin can be part of an absolutely amazing getaway, but be prepared to drive into town if you need Internet or cell reception!
