About Carole Tricco
We are retired and both from Northern Ontario. We have 3 children and 5 grandchildren. My husband's career took us to different cities/towns in Northern Ontario where we had memorable times. We did put up with cold temperatures and the dreaded black flies and mosquitoes but made lasting friendships. We are spontaneous and adventurous and once we retired thought it would be a change to venture south and we chose Niagara Falls. We love it here as there is so much to see and do and we are close to the U.S. border. We've done quite a bit of travelling and have stayed at vacation rentals in western Canada and Florida. We have a lot of time to spare and decided to open a vacation rental where we offer a service at a fraction of the cost and get to meet new people. We enjoy travelling, fishing, playing cards, and visiting our grandchildren.
Carole Tricco purchased this Studio in 2011
Why Carole Tricco chose Niagara Falls
We've always lived in northern Ontario and decided once we retired we needed a change. We had friends that also lived in a few of the same towns as us and had moved here to Niagara Falls. They told us to come and visit to see what we thought and from then on we knew this was the place for us. We purchased a new home and we are close to all amenities which was quite the opposite of all the places we had lived. The summers are longer and the winters not as harsh and no blackflies! We have so much here to do with our grandchildren. We are in wine and fruit country!
What makes this Studio unique
The big room is new and tastefully decorated. A king size bed along with a double bed and cozy atmosphere. Everyone loves the bathroom with the double sinks and glass covered shower. Although we live in the city, once in the backyard you'd never know it. Relax on the deck either on a comfy chair or on the glider swing. Turn the water fountain on for that spa-like feeling. Listen and see the different types of birds in a nicely landscaped yard with beautiful colorful flowers. We are walking distance to restaurants, shopping, banks, WEGO bus stop the YMCA and local attractions. You won't be disappointed.

I don't usually do reviews but this place deserves it. Carole and John were awesome from even before we arrived. This was my first time using home away and I was a little nervous. Carole and John put me right at ease. This place was SPOTLESS! Literally cleaner than any hotel I have stayed at. Carole did not miss anything that I can think of when it comes to the comforts of home. The place is beautiful and comfortable. The location is excellent. John even offered to pick us up if we needed a ride back from the attractions no matter the time if we stayed late and were drinking. We ran into them at a bar/restaurant not far from the house and they bought us a pitcher of beer. These are just genuinely nice people and I am very thankful they shared their home with us. I don't know if any place will be able to follow up my first experience using home away. If you are thinking about staying here, do it, you won't regret it. Oh, we left Canada 8 hours ago and my damage deposit has already been refunded. Thank you Carole & John!
Thanks so much for the quickest review ever, the kind words and the 5-star rating. It is all greatly appreciated. I'm glad it exceeded your expectations. We try our best to add a little extra and John was happy to have guests that shared the same profession that he did. I know you and Paul would treat us well back home too. Thanks for keeping our place nice and tidy. It was a pleasure having you. Enjoy the rest of your well deserved holiday.
Take care and be safe.

The Comforts of Home- Oct. 3rd to 12, 2017
John & Carole were wonderful hosts. Carole was very consciencious of our every need. John offered us some fresh picked pears which we enjoyed. The suite was spacious, very clean
and comfortable. It was situated close to everything. Although we were not there as tourists,
Carole did have numerous brochures and coupons available for a lot of the sites.
We certainly would recommend their suite to anyone visiting Niagara.

Firstly thanks for the quick review, kind words and a 5 star rating. It is greatly appreciated. It was nice having you stay with us and put our minds at ease when we had to leave for a few days. I've taken your suggestion and will take care of that matter. Love to hear what guests think. Glad you enjoyed your stay and hope you come back. Thanks for keeping our place so nice and tidy. By the way Al, those grapes were awesome and I'll have to look for some similar. Un gros merci Suzanne et j'espère que vous retournez.
Take care and may God bless you both.

Great stay, great area and PERFECT HOSTS
Our rental was impeccable...super clean, comfy bed, all the amenities you would need for a comfortable stay. We enjoyed the area which was near many great restaurants, near the falls and many other attractions you would want to visit. The nice thing about coming back is no hustle and bustle in the tourist area. Carole and John made sure all of our needs as their guests were met. They went above and beyond vacation rental hosts! Hope to visit them again, their lovely, warm home and the beautiful area of Niagra again. Will definitely be sending our friends and family!
Thanks Janeen. We really appreciate the 5-star rating and kind words. I know we would get the same treatment from you and Kiha. Glad you had a great stay, thanks for the tip and keeping our place nice and tidy. Love the chocolate bars! You're always welcome back anytime. Stay healthy and be safe.
A hiki mākou hui hou.

Canadian hospitality at its best!
From our very first communication after we booked this sweet lower-level unit to the welcoming greeting we received as we pulled into the driveway until we left on the final day, we had a delightful time with Carole and John and enjoyed our Niagara Falls "home away from home" very much. Carole communicated with us soon after we made our reservations and was a wealth of knowledge concerning local activities. She was the one to advise us to look into the Adventure Pass for "touristy" things to do around the Falls, and once we arrived, had many brochures, maps and information right there in our room for other local activities and restaurants.
Concerning the unit itself: it was spotless and inviting throughout; the kitchen area had a small refrigerator that was large enough for our breakfast things, a microwave, and enough dishes, glasses, cups and cutlery to suit us; the bathroom was clean and modern with plenty of towels and washcloths; the king-sized bed was super-comfortable; and though we heard the occasional footsteps or voices upstairs or water running through the pipes, they were very muted and we felt as though we had a beautiful, private and quiet oasis after our busy days exploring the area. Though the tapwater was fine to drink, the Triccos also provided a large bottled water dispenser in the unit. There were two plastic basins, dishwashing liquid and linens to keep the dishes clean, and that set-up was probably the only awkward thing about our stay: one had to get the hot water out of the bathroom sink, and my husband and I managed okay by my washing and rinsing the dish, and then he took the piece immediately from me and dried it.
Although we drove everywhere we wanted to go (not even using our "free" two-day WEGO bus passes through the Adventure Passes), we found the location of this unit perfect: close enough to the Falls, but far enough away to be in a quieter neighborhood. If we ever have the occasion to go back, we certainly would love to stay with the Triccos again.

Thanks so much Dave for the kind words and 5 star review. It was a pleasure meeting you and Deb. Yes I agree the dish washing set up isn't the best but it works. We'd love to have you back. Thanks for the peaches, they were awesome. I enjoyed our talks.
Wishing you continued success at work and both a wonderful year.

Clean and cozy studio apartment that is close to all the attractions. Not handicap accessible but very comfortable.
Thanks Brenda for the quick and 5 star review. It was a pleasure meeting you, Sue and George, the guy with the cute hairdo. I'm glad you had a wonderful family vacation. A big thank you for the money gift that you left for me. I will use it to buy gluten free items for my snack bar and will check into the place you recommended.
May God bless you and keep you healthy and safe. Thanks for choosing us.
A peaceful, relaxing retreat from the craziness of our action-packed trip!
We had a really lovely time staying with Carole and John. They both made us very welcome, even though we arrived quite late, after a six hour drive from Algonquin. Our room was just what we needed! Very spacious, comfortable (the bed was enormous!), very private and providing everything we needed for our two night stay.
The apartment is very convenient to all that Niagara has to offer, yet far enough away to allow us to relax, with use of the garden if we wished, although we didn't have time . . . first hint: stay longer! . . . we felt there was much more we would have liked to have seen in Niagara and the surrounding area.
Second hint: if, like me, the muffins and porridge sachets, etc., Carole provides for breakfast doesn't suit your dietary restrictions, bring what you need with you. Luckily enough, as we'd been staying elsewhere on a self-catering basis, I was able to supplement them with my own fruit and non-wheat items. However, there are plenty of restaurants and hotels close by if you prefer a cooked breakfast.
We had a lovely meal on our first night at Mike & Angelo's . . . I think that was its name . . . turn left and just walk to the corner of Lundy's Lane. They often have bands playing, so good fun too!
We had such a good time in Niagara and really wish we could have stayed longer, if only so we could have spent more time chatting with Carole and John, they are such lovely hosts. Carole went to great lengths to return a very special book I'd left behind, even offering to meet us enroute to save us the journey back from Niagara-on-the-Lake (gorgeous place to visit too and so handy). Thanks for this Carole, and John, also for the beers and jam, really enjoyed them all. We hope to see you in Ireland some day. Thanks again for everything.
Thanks Ann for the quick review and kind words. Glad you made it back home safely. Sorry that we didn't rate a 5 star and I'm not sure why. Our place is not a bed and breakfast which I'm thinking may have been the issue. Hope your stay in Canada was all or more than what you expected. Take care and hi to Pete.
