Why Pamela Miller, Owner chose Town of Middlefield
Cooperstown Twin Pines Cottage is a part of the Association of Hyde Bay Colony, located on County Route 31, 7 miles from Cooperstown. It is on the East side of Otsego Lake, where the sunsets are spectacular. This property (12 acres, with 650 feet of waterfront) was developed as "Rathbuns," in the 1920's. The Rathbun family developed this property as a fishing resort, over the years it developed into a family destination. When the Rathbuns decided it was time to retire, one of our realtors suggested looking into an association possibility. That is what we are! The John and I felt we were the luckiest people in the world to own a piece of this fabulous property. Now it is our time to enjoy the lake and share a part with others that want a special family get away. Hyde Bay Association continues these traditions. All of the cottages and homes on the property are individually owned and managed, with reasonable rules & regulations which are included in rental packet. These rules are only put in place for community respect and each family's enjoyment.
What makes this Cottage unique

The Miller's place was exactly what we were looking for. Very quiet and very clean. Every amenitie you could need and then some. Would definitely stay here again!
Thank you. It was our pleasure to have your family vacation with us.
Very clean and cozy cabin. Great week at the lake!
Clean and cozy cabin with a short walk down to the beach. Kids had fun swimming and using kayaks when we weren't at Dreams Park watching baseball. We had more fun by the fire in the evenings.
This fabulous lake and town tugs my heat strings every year. Sometimes we can't make it, Bit when we do it's peaceful and beautiful. The camp offers outdoorsy activities to fill you bucket list and Cooperstown is a gem like no other. A very special place indeed.
Child-friendly, family friendly - LOVED the firepit
Loved the stay at this lake. The lake is HUGE and chilly and very refreshing after long-hot days on the baseball field with the kiddos. We were there for Dreams Park and it would have been a much longer week without this fabulous, low-key, chill-out, family-friendly cottage. LOVED John and Pam. Loved the fishing and the kayaks and the firepit was our fav. We sat from sunset until the fire was gone every night all week long - NO RAIN - amazing stay
We didn't stay the full week as it was off season and asked the question "Can we stay 3 nights?" the answer was yes and we were THRILLED that we didn't just stay in a hotel. This was a lovely retreat. Not a cabin. A home with TONS of windows and view and outside. We loved the family atmosphere - lots of space and we rarely saw anyone else, except at the waterfront and even that was private and respectful. HIGHLY recommend
I loved this cottage. We love everything about Cooperstown. It is so baseball and family and quaint and the lake is so pretty and serine. We were on the lake every single day (kayak or fishing or the dock or swimming). The boys loved the fishing poles and the boats left for us and there were TONS of toys (and shuffleboard - surprise). We had one rainy day - in a week of glorious weather and we had books and games to choose from. We just sat and played cards and laughed and laughed. Pam & John are wonderful hosts. Highly recommend this property!!!
Our cottage is 7 miles from the Village of Cooperstown where you will find the Baseball Hall of Fame, The Farmers Museum, The Fenimore House, delightful dining, golf and friendly downtown. We have 2 kayaks and a canoe for your family's use. There is a ping pong table in the boat house. Our beachfront is wonderful, there are many Adirondack chairs for Lazing about with a book . Our fire pit in the evening is right at the beachfront. There is free firewood for your use. Bring your marshmallows and spend some time together as a family.
