About Marc Hudak, Property Owner

I spent my summers growing up at my grandfathers cabin in Algonquin Park, Canada. The days were spent swimming, fishing and playing board games with family and friends. A typical night featured a roaring fire, s'mores and card games. The simplicity of it was beautiful and not something I fully appreciated until many years later. I came to value those memories so much that I wanted to give my own children (Gabriella 6 & Matthew 3) the same kind of experience.

Marc Hudak, Property Owner purchased this lodge in 2014

Why Marc Hudak, Property Owner chose Whiteface Mountain

We live in a small town on the North Shore of Long Island and enjoy all of the benefits of Long Island Sound. Owning a property in the High Peaks Region of the Adirondack Mountains is a great contrast and offers us a completely different experience than the one we are used to. I find mountain living to be very peaceful and therapeutic. Life slows down when we are here! This is a very comfortable house with good energy. Equally perfect for a quiet afternoon in front of a fire reading a good book or après ski.

What makes this lodge unique

This is a great part of the world. You can find whatever you are looking for here. Each season is uniquely different in many ways. If you want action, it is a short drive to lake placid. If you want some down time or are looking for easy access to whiteface or the ausable river, this is the place.

Beautiful Adirondack house, minutes to Whiteface Mtn

  • 5 of 5

We couldn't have asked for more. As two families with 10 people total, there was plenty of room. The kids loved having their own bunk room suite downstairs. The house is beautifully decorated and the views are spectacular. The kitchen has every pot/pan/appliance you could need and enough dishware to serve twice our number. We enjoyed the hot tub. It was actually too warm for a fire but the garage was stocked with firewood if we had wanted one. It's a convenient 5 minute or less drive to the mountain. We loved it and didn't want to leave!

Gorgeous home..perfect for ski vacation and more.

  • 5 of 5

My family and I (husband, 3 college students and myself) absolutely loved this home for our holiday ski vacation. The Lodge is even more beautiful than the pictures. It has everything you could possibly need to feel comfortable and even pampered. The kitchen is fully stocked with any and all items necessary for your cooking needs. The decor and bedding are all tastefully done and of the highest quality. I simply can't say enough of how comfortable and beautiful this home felt to us all.

Marc is an extremely gracious host. He was very easy to communicate with and was very generous in his time and offerings to make our trip comfortable and memorable. Marc's restaurant recommendations were spot on for this "foody" family.

We will definitely return to this gorgeous home and area. It is the ideal home for a ski vacation. Thank you Marc for sharing your lovely home with us.

Wonderful Vacation Home

  • 5 of 5

Our family of eight loved staying here. It met all of our needs. There was plenty of space for us to be together, as well as separate areas to read and relax. The screened porch was a special addition to an already lovely home. The home and furnishings are beautiful, exemplifying the Adirondacks in every detail. The owner, Marc, is very attentive and helpful. It's nice to have someone so accommodating as the owner. The location was perfect for our high peak hiking adventures and Lake Placid. There was nothing negative about our stay. We found this home to be our favorite and look forward to returning.

Absolutely Perfect

  • 5 of 5

We just returned from our Easter Trip at this beautiful vacation home. We've stayed at many vacation homes before but this one is definitely our favorite. The house was perfect in every way. It was squeaky clean and Everything we needed was there. Not one detail was missed while decorating this home, which made it so warm and comfy for our family holiday :) Marc (the owner) was so great. He gave us many recommendations of where to go and what to do. He was also very accommodating to our needs as far as check in and check out times went (which many owners are not). The home is about 5 mins from Whiteface mountain (which was soooo convenient for us)and the view of whiteface from the house was awesome! We went to beautiful Lake Placid a few times for lunches and dinners which took about 15 minutes (and is the most beautiful drive). This house was just perfect in every way! We will definitely be back soon :) thank you again Marc!

Perfect Getaway

  • 5 of 5

My outdoor enthusiasts group has been renting winter getaway houses for 15+ years now and this has been our favorite place so far. The owner was professional and friendly, responded in a timely manner, answered all my questions pre trip and during the trip, and gave recommendations about where to go and what to do. The house was perfect for our group of 11. Couples were able to enjoy the private king suites and the single adults were able to share the bunk room. The full size bunk beds both top and bottom were a very nice touch. This room would also be perfect for children. There was enough room for everyone to socialize at meal times in the dinning, kitchen and living areas, as well as enough space throughout to get away for some alone time if desired.

We happen to stay during one of the coldest weekends on record at Whiteface/Lake Placid (-20 without windchill) and the house was evenly heated throughout via radiant heat.

Perfectly located for a 5 min trip to whiteface for skiing or a 15-20 min to the heart of Lake Placid. We were never far from anywhere we wanted to go.

All 10 of my guests had nothing but praise for the house. We would most definitely stay here again.

The Lodge at Juniper Hill is a newly built resort style log home located directly opposite whiteface mountain in the high peaks region of the adirondacks. The village of lake placid is less than 10 miles away and the whiteface mountain ski area less than 1 mile. The views are breathtaking and the recreational opportunities endless. This is a year-round destination. In the winter, the region is home to the us olympic team as the village of lake placid hosted the 1932 and 1980 winter olympics. Whether you want to hit the slopes at whiteface mountain, ice skate on the olympic oval or try the toboggan run on mirror lake, you will not run out of winter sports options. In the spring, whitewater rafting, fly fishing and hiking/mountain climbing take over. In the summer, lake placid is home to one of the top horse shows in the country and also plays host to it's own ironman triathlon. In the fall, the views are incredible as foliage season unfolds in the region. The east branch of the ausable river, one of the top fly fishing destinations in the northeast is at the bottom of juniper hill and easily accessed. The Hungry Trout Fly Shop and Two Flys Fly Shop are close by and guided excursions easily arranged. Lake placid is a bustling town with an abundance of dining and entertainment options. If want a four star gourmet meal, you can find it; if you would prefer some pub-fare and live music it is easily found.
