About Marc Hudak, Property Owner

I spent my summers growing up at my grandfathers cabin in Algonquin Park, Canada. The days were spent swimming, fishing and playing board games with family and friends. A typical night featured a roaring fire, s'mores and card games. The simplicity of it was beautiful and not something I fully appreciated until many years later. I came to value those memories so much that I wanted to give my own children the same kind of experience and purchased The Lodge at Juniper Hill.

Marc Hudak, Property Owner purchased this lodge in 2014

Why Marc Hudak, Property Owner chose Wilmington

The Lodge at Juniper Hill is an excellent choice for anyone looking to spend some quality time in the Adirondack Mountains. The Lake Placid area has become an excellent destination year round and has a lot to offer anyone. In the spring, summer and fall, some of the best swimming, paddling, biking, hiking and fishing opportunities in the northeast are within a few miles of our house. If you are looking for action, Lake Placid home of the 1932 and 1980 Winter Olympics is 9 miles away and offers great dining and entertainment options. Whether your desire is live music and pub fare or a five star meal from a celebrity chef, you will find it in Lake Placid. The quaint Town of Keene is 9 miles in the opposite direction and is known for it's farmer's market. It also has some great cafes and artisanal shops filled with local art, pottery and other authentic Adirondack goods. In the winter of course, this area becomes one of the top winter sports destinations in the world. The Olympic facilities are still used today by our Olympic athletes as well as other competitors from around the world.

What makes this lodge unique

Whiteface Mountain Ski Area, site of two winter Olympics is one mile from our house. There are a number of ways to get to the top of Whiteface Mountain; you can take the Gondola at the ski resort, hike the trail from the bottom or take the scenic Whiteface Memorial Highway to the top. Regardless of how you get there, you will be treated to breathtaking and expansive views of the High Peaks Region. It is a "must stop" for your next family photo opportunity. The Ski Resort of has become a year round destination with world class skiing in the winter and biking, ropes courses and other fun things for the kids to do in the summer. The West Branch of the Ausable River runs along the base of Whiteface Mountain and is recognized as one of the top fly fishing streams in the country. The Town of Wilmington Public Beach is close by and is a great facility for those with young kids. It offers a sandy beach with swim area, lifeguards, kayak rentals, playground and picnic area with clean bathrooms. We personally use (our family) and enjoy all the things I have mentioned in this overview. There is a lot to do within a short distance of our home!

The property is truly 5 star in every way! Attention to detail and amazing in every way.

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for Christmas this year as a family. The lodge is amazing! The kids room down stairs entertained all the kids with their own space to be away. All 3 other master bedrooms were truly master bedrooms with their own baths. Very tastefully decorated. All name brand dishes, pots, towels, linens, mattresses etc. This is not a rental house. This is someone's home who loves it and truly cares for it and you will feel right at home when staying. We had one simple question for Marc and he was one the phone seconds later with an answer. Great family experience and by far the nicest place we've ever stayed. Can't wait to go back. It's a true winter wonderland. Top notch!

Wonderful place to relax!

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful home with incredible details! Attentive owner. Plenty of room for our group of four parents, 2 young adults and 4 teens. Close enough to attractions in Lake Placid but still very private home to get away from it all. Definitely don't hesitate to rent. You will be pleased!

Gorgeous house minutes from Whiteface

  • 5 of 5

Stayed at this beautiful house in February 2017 and we will definitely be back again. The location is perfect as it's minutes from Whiteface Mountain and a short drive to downtown Lake Placid. The house is very spacious and beautifully decorated. It was perfect for our ski vacation, but I imagine it would be great for hiking and fishing in the summer or for foliage season in the Fall. The house had great views of Whiteface Mountain and we all enjoyed the hot tube after a long day of skiing. Marc was very responsive to anything we needed or questions we had.

My family and I stayed for the Ironman and had a wonderful time at juniper hill.

  • 5 of 5

Plenty of space for our family. We were able to enjoy campfires at the fire pit. Relaxing environment but easy assess to many hikes, whiteface, and town. The house was clean and had comfortable beds.

Wonderful stay at Lodge at Juniper Hill

  • 5 of 5

Stayed at this wonderful property in Aug 2017 and will be back for many summers to come and hopefully some winter trips. Property is exactly as described and better than the pictures can convey. It is a very spacious lodge in a terrific area with plenty of privacy. The house was immaculately clean and wonderfully decorated in ADK furnishings. Stayed with another family and in total we had five kids under the age of 10 and the ground bunk floor was perfect for them. It is massive and had more than enough space for all of them. Utilized the hot tub and fire pit for many nights. Perfect location to hike, bike, fish or swim and close enough to Lake Placid. Marc was very responsive, terrific to deal with and had plenty of local knowledge to share.

Beautiful Adirondack house, minutes to Whiteface Mtn

  • 5 of 5

We couldn't have asked for more. As two families with 10 people total, there was plenty of room. The kids loved having their own bunk room suite downstairs. The house is beautifully decorated and the views are spectacular. The kitchen has every pot/pan/appliance you could need and enough dishware to serve twice our number. We enjoyed the hot tub. It was actually too warm for a fire but the garage was stocked with firewood if we had wanted one. It's a convenient 5 minute or less drive to the mountain. We loved it and didn't want to leave!

The Lodge at Juniper Hill is a newly built resort style log home located directly opposite whiteface mountain in the high peaks region of the adirondacks. The village of lake placid is less than 10 miles away and the whiteface mountain ski area less than 1 mile. The views are breathtaking and the recreational opportunities endless. This is a year-round destination. In the winter, the region is home to the us olympic team as the village of lake placid hosted the 1932 and 1980 winter olympics. Whether you want to hit the slopes at whiteface mountain, ice skate on the olympic oval or try the toboggan run on mirror lake, you will not run out of winter sports options. In the spring, whitewater rafting, fly fishing and hiking/mountain climbing take over. In the summer, lake placid is home to one of the top horse shows in the country and also plays host to it's own ironman triathlon. In the fall, the views are incredible as foliage season unfolds in the region. The east branch of the ausable river, one of the top fly fishing destinations in the northeast is at the bottom of juniper hill and easily accessed. The Hungry Trout Fly Shop and Two Flys Fly Shop are close by and guided excursions easily arranged. Lake placid is a bustling town with an abundance of dining and entertainment options. If want a four star gourmet meal, you can find it; if you would prefer some pub-fare and live music it is easily found.
