This cottage is the quintessential PEI experience. It sits amidst rolling farm fields with a panoramic view of the ocean. Unwind on the covered deck and enjoy a glass of wine, or watch the kiddies play lawn games while the sun sets. The view is protected by the L.M. Montgomery Land Trust, an organization put in place to protect PEI's most scenic shoreline and the inspiration for Lucy Maud's beloved Anne of Green Gables books.

The cottage is located just off a quiet country road in the community of French River/Park Corner. This is an ideal location for touring, as you are only minutes from Cavendish and all its hustle and bustle. The scenic villages of New London and Stanley Bridge are right next door as well. This central location is close to beaches, shopping and restaurants. A 10 minute walk will bring you to a stunning beach, which locals have dubbed 'Yankee Hill'. You can also walk to one of the most photographed fishing wharfs on the Island, French River, or the famous Cape Tryon Lighthouse. Hop in the car and a short drive will take you to Cousins Shore beach, Cavendish or many other renowned PEI beaches. A lovely 40 minute drive will bring you to Charlottetown where you can experience the charm of our seaside capital. Restaurants, galleries, theatre and more.

The cottage is a historic farmhouse, with wide plank hardwood floors and loads of character. There is a covered veranda that allows you to take in the views, rain or shine.

MAIN FLOOR: The main floor features a fully equipped kitchen with a stove, fridge, dishwasher and all the cooking necessities. There is a full bathroom on the main floor with a tub & shower. The living room is spacious and equipped with a full size pull out couch. The door to the living area can be closed off, to allow for more private sleeping arrangements.

UPSTAIRS: There are 2 bedrooms upstairs. One bedroom has a full size bed and the other has 2 twin size beds. There is a 2nd full bathroom with a claw foot tub, and a washer and dryer. The bathtub looks out over the rolling farmland and the ocean.

The French River and Park Corner area hold a special place in our hearts. While we love all areas of the Island, we chose this as the location for our cottage due to the outstanding views, the proximity to the best Summer activities and the short stroll to a lovely PEI beach. Not only does this little piece of heaven feel like a charming taste of the yesteryears, you can see how it inspired world famous author LM Montgomery to write such loved novels. Here we feel the pace is unhurried and the romantic notion of a cottage comes alive - and we can really relax.

No smoking & no pets please.

The entire house is yours to enjoy. Please make yourself at home!

Our stay at this rental is a prime example of meeting this expectation when you look forward to a long awaited vacation. From the time we arrived, until our departure, we were overwhelmed by the stunning view from our porch. The only thing that made it better was to walk through the field to the bluff and lighthouse. We took several pictures here that will serve as a lasting memory. The cottage retains all the charm and character to reflect the 1800's when it was built. Even though it is rustic, it has all the modern amenities. It was all that we expected, very clean, and was well stocked with all the necessities upon our arrival. The owner provided a binder with a ton of information regarding the house, the area, beaches, restaurants, and other activities. There are two beaches close by, however, to get to the one, you should expect a long walk to get there. The house was a little noisy one night when the wind was blowing pretty hard. You need to expect this when being at a location such as this. It did not take anything away from our total enjoyment. There is a restaurant/bar with great food, and views from the deck that is only a short drive away. We would not hesitate to stay here again should we return to the island.

Relaxing Oasis

An authentically historic property with a spectacular sea view. A quiet oasis, it was a pleasure to hear the wind rattling the doors and windows. If you are looking for a relaxing and rustic experience which is very well located (for seafood and beach lovers) then take our recommendation and allow yourself this unforgettable adventure!!
