This is a beautiful in-town Breckenridge home that is located on 3/4 acre, has a big yard with lots of trees and the best views in all of Breckenridge. You can walk to everything that Breckenridge has to offer - the ski area, restaurants, bars, shopping - but still have privacy and peace.
Our home's almost two homes in one. There are two master suites, one above the kitchen and one off the living room. Then there's two further bedrooms below the kitchen, one en-suite and one with a bathroom across the hall. Finally there's a semi self-contained apartment, with two further bedrooms, two bathrooms, and its own kitchen and living areas.
The kitchen's just been remodeled and now has a 48" Wolf dual fuel range, french door Samsung refrigerator, farmhouse sink, island with prep sink and amazing 20' wide panoramic glass doors to the deck. There's a custom Colorado-flag design dining table, a well-stocked pantry and a powder room tucked in the corner.
The main living room has two separate seating areas, a 55" 4K curved TV, a foosball table, a telescope for checking out the stars (or the ski area), an upright Steinway piano and a bookshelf stocked with entertainment for all ages. It's got cathedral ceilings, masses of windows and fantastic ski-area views.
The deck has an 8-seater hot tub, again with amazing mountain views, which is a great place to relax after a hard day on the slopes. There is a top end Weber Summit S-670 natural gas grill (no more running out of propane ten minutes before the food's ready) and seating for 10+.
The two master suites each have king-size beds and en-suite bathrooms with jacuzzi tubs. They both have their own staircases leading up to them for privacy and, large, west-facing windows looking directly out over the ski area. We never tire of the ever-changing vista.
There's a semi self-contained two bedroom apartment below the living room. It has its own kitchen and living area, a second large-screen TV and a large, sectional, sleeper sofa. One of the bedrooms is en-suite, and there's a second bathroom off the living area.
Of the bedrooms below the kitchen, one bedroom is en-suite with a bath tub and a shower system. It has a twin over queen bed. The other bedroom has a queen bed and a bathroom with a shower right opposite.
To top it all off, there's a laundry with a top-end washer and dryer, cabinetry and office space, two mud rooms for ski gear, parking for several cars and a heated garage.
Here's what previous visitors have had to say:
'I've been coming to Breck for several years and have stayed in condos and houses slope-side and in town. This was far and away my favourite. We'll be back!'
'How does one find a home with plenty of space inside and out, a private yard, and super easy access to every activity you could want? You rent this place!!'
'My wife and I stayed here with a bunch of our friends and had a great time. The house is plenty big enough for 8-10 people. Views from the master bedroom are breathtaking. We had a few non-skiers in our group who loved being so close to town. We would come back next year in a heartbeat!'
'This house was perfect for our group of 14. Everything we needed was provided and the house is beautiful. Plenty of room, lots to do at the house, and very close to Main St..we are already discussing our visit for next summer!'
We made the decision to move to Breckenridge permanently in 2014, having spent several winters here. Our children go to the local schools, and we run a small telecoms business in the town. We're originally from Europe - Dave's English and Marina's Greek - so we spend a lot of vacation time over there, and make our home available to others while we're gone.
David Knell purchased this house in 2014
We chose this home for its size and location - it's a short walk to everything that Breckenridge has to offer whilst being just enough out of the way to be quiet and private.
We love the deck. It's huge, and has amazing view of the ski area - it's exactly the right place to take a soak in the hot tub while watching the sun set after a hard day on the slopes.
I would recommend this house to anyone who loves Breckenridge and the mountains. We had 12 adults (6 couples) stay in the house with each couple have own space and bathrooms. It is very spacious and great mountain views. You can tell the owners have spent a lot of time and care on their house. They were very responsive to my questions and needs. We had two minor issue's with the fire alarms and apartment thermostat didn't work, but overall a GREAT experience. It is close to down (walking distance) which made it great not having to worry about parking in town during the busy summer season. I would come back and stay here every year with my friends.
This house is a great rental for a large group. Terrific views from all the windows. We were 4 couples, but there was room for more. Plenty of bedrooms and everyone had their own bathroom. There is a lot of common space. The kitchen is very nice with upgraded appliances. The owner responded quickly to all inquiries which we really appreciated. Note: there is access to netflix, hulu, etc., but you can't get any network TV which was disappointing since we were there during the Olympics.
Our stay was PERFECT!! The home was truly incredible. Many updates have been made that the pictures here don't even show (entirely new and remodeled kitchen with an entire wall of panoramic doors, new wood flooring in kitchen and family room.) Also, most of the pictures show the winter view - we stayed over July 4th and it was perfect. We had two families and two grandmas - kids included 1.5yo, 3.5yo, 7yo, 9yo and 21yo. The home felt like it had four wings to it - two master bedrooms, the stand alone apartment and the other hallway with the other two bedrooms. We used all the bedrooms and even the big master closet for our 1.5yo to sleep in. And it was perfect. I asked our group to list some of their favorite things:
- Proximity to Main Street, easy walk down the hill
- Hot tub was used often
- Daniel, the manager, was so pleasant and helpful... we called a couple times!
- Panoramic kitchen doors were AHHHH-mazing a allowed for some incredible family photos
- telescope viewing was fun!
- the view from both masters, the kitchen, the family room and the deck... WOW!
- Comfortable beds, bedding and couch.
- seeing a deer and fox in the backyard/ open space
- flowers on the hillside under deck
- foosball table - many hours of entertainment for 3, 7 and 9yo
- TOYS and books!!! this was such a gem and bonus for us - many kids books, bins of toys. This might have been my favorite part because it kept our kiddos happy for hours - so many new toys but yet still so tidy and organized.
- 2 kitchens
- great view for July 4th fireworks
We are regular VRBO renters and this one by far exceeded expectations! A few kinks in the brand-newly-remodeled kitchen but Daniel remedied those for us quickly. Also, the wing with two bedrooms downstairs was pretty chilly but we only were in that area for sleeping so they just cuddled up in the cozy blankets.
Also, we would have loved to have a guestbook to read about others stay and to leave a recap of our adventures. We were thrilled with our stay and would jump at the chance to stay here again in the future. Thanks so much David, Marina and kiddos for sharing your home with us!!
The house was more than large enough to give all of us space to gather as small or large groups, but yet room to get away for alone time when needed. The deck and hot tub are OUTSTANDING, with a wonderful view of the ski area and sun sets.
The kitchen was a joy to use, with an abundance of kitchen utensils, plates, etc. - even an espresso machine. The dining room table was large enough to sit 11 plus people. The large living room allowed for much use by all of us, the television allowed for the 10:00 news, video/movies etc., the foos ball machine was loved by the younger set, and the coffee table was large enough for the large puzzles that were assembled by the "puzzle people". The two upstairs bedrooms are very nice and roomy.
Our entire group had a great time and the owners were very responsive to any problems or questions that arose during our stay. We hope to come back again in the future.
My family had a long weekend here. The location's great. It's a short walk to Main St and a bit further to the gondola. The house is really nice and the owners easy to work with, even leaving out toys for our kids. Recommended.
