About Vacasa, CA - Lake Tahoe Office
Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.

Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.

Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!

Great long weekend with the family
The house is very spacious and very close from the village. The shuttle service is very convenient. Would definetily rent it again.
Very disappointing second stay
Let me start by saying we stayed here a year ago and had a much different experience. First, we called the day before arrival and asked if we could come a night early due to a rain storm coming in later in the week. Online it showed the home was available. The management co. called back and gave us a much higher price per night than we were paying and said they couldn’t gauarantee the home would be clean and ready for us a day early. So I said no thank you and we stayed at a best western for one night. The next day we got up and skied with our young kids all day. Completely tired and hungry we arrive at the house at 4:30 to check in and find a dirty house with no beds made. The house did not get cleaned from the previous stay, which must have been several days if not weeks prior to us arriving. We then spent the next 2.5 hours calling and calling the management co and nobody could give us an answer about what happened and what the remedy would be. After threatening to dispute the charges with Amex cleaners finally arrived about 7 pm. Management finally agreed to deduct one nights stay but not without a lot of arguing. Cleaners rushed the cleaning so we could have our space to prepare dinner for our starving and tired kids. The dirty dishes were still in the dishwasher from the previous stay and overall the cleanliness of house was not up to our standards. Stains on the dining chairs and lots of spots on carpeting. Aside from this horrendous snafu with the management company I’ll mention other problems with the home. The beds downstairs are full/queen and not comfortable for sharing. There were no extra blankets in any closets. Upstairs was very cold so we didn’t use it; no space heaters or extra blankets, hence we shared the small beds with our kids downstairs.
Night two we decided to bbq like last year. No gas for the bbq and bbq in very poor condition. Long story short, after several nights of poor sleep we left a day early to return home. The home also is lacking essentials- no aluminum foil, etc. All in all, the home needs some tender care.
We apologize for the missed clean this guest arrived to; this is an unusual situation for us, and we do try to rectify these as quickly as possible when they occur. This can be difficult due to housekeeper hours being wrapped up for the day at check-in time. We will discuss the other disappointments mentioned in this review to the owner for their consideration.
Nice house, great location
We stayed here a couple of years ago as well and were happy the same place was available for our trip this time around.
It’s a nice house for two families. Comfortable, clean kitchen, dining and family area. The location is really good — there’s a free shuttle that takes you to the Northstar village.
I would have given it 5 stars again if the upstairs bedrooms were warmer. Also, some details could have been taken care of (basic supplies in the kitchen such as aluminum foil and sugar had run out, we couldn’t find the laundry detergent even though the check-out instructions ask for us to put a load in before leaving, we could not get the outside garbage bin to open - and apparently the people before us must have had trouble with it because they left a trash bag outside that got ripped up by an animal(s) overnight and made a bit of a mess)
All that said, we’d stay here again, but would expect some greater attention to detail.
We are glad to see this guest plans on returning despite a few disappointments this time around. The garbage can was frozen shut, which does happen sometimes this time of year. We are unsure of where the additional trash bag came from as all trash was removed when housekeeping finished cleaning this home, but the property manager did get the mess cleaned up as well as got the garbage can open. We do not supply aluminum foil or sugar, but we will ask housekeeping to be more mindful of providing laundry detergent. The home's heating system is designed to have the upper floors mostly warmed by warm air rising from the lower floor. This can sometimes take a while, so we have provided a space heater in the bedroom closet. Thanks!
Great location, nice house .. more attention to detail would be nice

We'll ensure the home is properly stocked and the garbage bin accessible. Thank you!
