Right in the heart of the historical district.
The apartment was clean and exactly as pictured and in the centre of the historical area so there was plenty to see right down the street, including the home or the original Pizza and an underground city that dates back to 500 BC. The restaurant right outside the door had both amazing food and service. I chose to close the windows at night because it is on a busy street. There is no air conditioning so I found it very warm with the windows closed and was wishing there was a fan upstairs, but I loved everything else about the apartment. A good set of earplugs might have helped with both the noise and heat, because a beautiful breeze went through the apartment during the day. We enjoyed the balconies and watching the activity below. I would recommend staying here if visiting Napoli and Simone was a gracious and informative host.
Excellent location, great restaurants and lots going on but.....
After reading the other reviews we are wondering if this is the same place that we stayed in for four days. Simone is a very helpful host and answered all our questions but this is by no means a 5 star Home Away rental. The apartment has one large room with a couch (hideaway bed) certainly not what he lists as 2 bedrooms, kitchenette and bathroom. The staircase is a small spiral. The ceiling was beautiful and elegant. The bathroom was not clean mildewed and unpleasant. The lighting in the apartment is horrible, impossible to read at night. No television, radio, clock and it felt more like a college dorm room. We have traveled extensively in Italy in five different rentals and this by far, was basic at best. The price was right but if you are going to judge a rental property the star rating should mean something.
A Second Visit
Perhaps the best review anyone could give of a vacation rental is that I came back just a year later. (See my review of 26 November 2015 under "Scott H." below.) On my second visit, the apartment was as charming as ever and the neighborhood never failed to delight. Where else could I have been drawn outside one evening by music in the street, and then found a travelling Dutch brass band playing Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah"? Simone, the Prince of Naples, was once again a kind and gracious host.
Gorgeous, huge, great location
Simone was great, responsive and could not of asked for a more central location. We will be back!
Beautiful apartment, clean with lots of room. Loved sitting on the deck over the busy street in the morning. Located right in the heart of old Napoli.
We had a great time staying at Simone Spirito's apartment in the heart of Naple's Centro Storico. The ceiling was remarkable and the apartment well appointed and the location could not have been better. It was everything that I hoped it would be. We loved standing on the balcony and enjoying the hustle and bustle of Naples below. Simone was helpful, friendly, and a great host. I would stay here again if I ever return to Naples!
