About Janice Martin

Retired couple who just finished a historic remodel, plus new 'casita' guest house.

Janice Martin purchased this bungalow in 2012

Why Janice Martin chose Willo

We choose to move to this area phoenix because we like the location being so close to downtown phoenix. We totally remodeled an older historic home, leaving all the charm of the original property.

What makes this bungalow unique

Casita is walking distance to the Heard, and Phoenix Art Museums and the Encanto Light rail stop. Our backyard features a nice sitting area for coffee, cocktails or dining.

Glorious gem and wonderful hosts!

  • 5 of 5

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Willo Casita while in Phoenix for a conference! Janice, Charlie, and their daughter Stephanie were wonderful hosts: Warm, welcoming, and eager to make sure I had everything I needed from the minute I booked the property. (I also loved playing with the family’s two adorable and friendly dogs, Bowie and Lola, during my stay!)

The casita is close to Valley Metro mass transit, so I had quick and easy access to downtown Phoenix every day. Beautifully decorated down to every last detail, both the interior and exterior of the casita made me feel like an honored guest. From Crabtree and Evelyn toiletries to extra bottles of water in the refrigerator, I couldn’t have asked for more!

I look forward to returning to Willo Casita on my next trip to Phoenix. Everyone should be so lucky to experience Janice and Charlie’s hospitality!

Adorable Place in a Great Location

  • 5 of 5

Location, location, location! This place is a hidden gem in downtown Phoenix! Super close to the light rail (which we took everywhere), so we didn't even rent a car. The place was very clean and the owners were super friendly! It was quiet, private and loved the decor down to the last detail. Great place to stay! Would definitely recommend to others and hope to visit again someday!

Spring Training

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed here recently for five nights and I would stay here again. It was perfect for us. The location is extremely convenient. We were able to walk to the Heard museum, restaurants and the light rail system Is two blocks away. Also, it was very easy to get to the various locations we visited by car. The landlords are very nice, the Casita is very clean and the yard is pleasant to be in. A very nice and quite neighborhood too!

Great Location! Clean and Welcoming! Would highly recommend!

  • 5 of 5

Janice and Charlie's casita was a wonderful place to stay. The location was very convenient to the light rail, making the airport, convention center, ballpark, downtown and many other attractions highly accessible without the added expense of renting a car. The casita itself was spacious enough for two people, clean, well-appointed, and secure. The set up allowed us to come and go as we pleased without bothering anyone or bothering the homeowners or neighbors. Charlie and Janice were gracious hosts who made themselves available if we'd had any problems but gave us our space to enjoy our time in Phoenix. When we return to Phoenix, we hope to stay there again and would highly recommend it to anyone else.

Small, lovely place to stay.

  • 4 of 5

This is a small but lovely place. The studio apartment is carefully designed for maximum use of space. My husband and I agreed that it was perfect for our 3-night stay. A longer stay may have been challenging, because there is no desk or work space. The small patio was great, and weather permitting, a comfortable place to eat, read, bird-watch or whatever! The host & hostess were terrific. No complaints about this place!
