About Ann Prewitt
My name is Ann Prewitt and I always dreamed of owning a beach house in Florida. For over 35 years, I would say: 'One day, I am going to own a beach house in Florida.' Over the years I traveled around the world to Central and South America as well as Asia. I visited the beaches in Belize, Costa Rica, Cozumel, Thailand, Puerto Rico, Atlantis in Bahamas, Daytona, throughout the Keys, Destin, Ft. Walton, Navarra and Gulf Shores. The day I found this unit, I offered full price. The local Johnson Beach was a short drive. My husband and I refer to it as the first beach on the right in Florida. It reminds me of Destin Florida when I was a child. Unspoiled beaches with miles of sand, & wildlife. It's totally relaxing. I do not like traffic, congestion, and commercialization.( I've been to NYC) I want a vacation. Perdido is still a low key non commercial destination. Its only a short distance to outlet malls, & adventures,( Try zip lining in Milton or Gulf Shores; parasailing or rent a wave runner, boat or kyak) but Perdido Key and Johnson Beach IS the definition of laid back and relaxed. No where in the world is there a nicer place, that is an easy drive, and so affordable.
Ann Prewitt purchased this Villa in 2014
Why Ann Prewitt chose Perdido Key
This property meant so much to me, that I was committed to High Quality. Throughout my travels, we have been blessed with 5 star service. I want to offer high end amenities to the guest of WAY COOL. No other unit offers 2 air conditioning units, tiled shower, granite. I purchased high end stainless appliances even though the white ones were still functional. I want our guest to return every year. The artwork was hand selected. The blackout drapes were custom made. When I found this unit, I read the reviews, and I made a committment to provide top quality accomodations to the clients who chose to stay at 'Way Cool'. I am committed to maintaining the unit to pristine condition.
What makes this Villa unique
The Purple Parrot Resort is replicated from a Belizian village. I love Belize and the accomodations here are very similar. But, let's face it... I can't drive down to Belize 3 times a year and flights for the kids and grandkids get expensive. At Way Cool, our entire family can make memories together and it doesn't blow our budget. We can have meals in our unit or go out. 'Shrimp Boils', Cook Outs and Lillans Pizza are practical options. We have visited several great churches in the area and are made to feel very welcomed. Our unit has plantation shutters and beadboard breakfast bar that gives it the cottage feel. The free entertainment with live music and the convenience of the grill is great. You will be blown away with the practical comforts of this unit.

Toilet overflowed one minute after we were there! I called and they said it would be handled! No one came! Washing machine broken so I called right back and they said yes. We are waiting on a part (like it would be coming in any minute! But no! The tv in the living did not work and the tv in twin bedroom didn't work! Finally I called back on Saturday because now there is water damage on celling and carpet was soaked! Then they sent a plumber! Baby wipes were flushed in that toilet! Fries and can't under cushion on chairs! Chips behind furniture ! No tv flicker in twin room either! So finally Saturday afternoon they let me use a different condos washer and dryer! So with a broken toe and foot I had to haul all the towels and clothes to another unit ! It wasn't right next to us either! It was the worst condo ever! She rented to me knowing these things were broken ! I will be calling in the morning to speak to owner
It was clean ( to my standards anyway😉) and beautifully decorated.
The property is well maintained and has a good family atmosphere. There was music every night by the pool. My only gripe is that you can't bring your own food and drinks to the pool forcing you to order from the bar which is not convenient with little kids. Check in and check out were both easy and convenient. I would definitely return.
The house was nice. But parking sucked.
Was suppose to have a space to park. Had to end up parking outside the gate almost every night. In the packet I got it said you must habe a parking pass displayed to park inside the gates. Unfortuantley the house across the road doesn't go buy the 2 car rule and they had several of the spots taken up with friends cars with no parking passes and nothing was done about it all week. Had to drive to the beach as there is no way with the busy highway you could walk to the beach as it says you could,in the description
We found this property to be very nice, clean and comfortable for our family of 6. The kids had plenty of room and loved having more privacy. The entire place was very nice, decorated beautifully and well appointed. The pool was wonderful and we would spend half the day there and the other half of the day at the beach which is just a very short drive. We opted for the state park beach about 3 miles down the road and pretty much had the entire beach to ourselves (there is a $3 day pass per vehicle required for the state park, very reasonable). There are also clean picnic pavilions, bathrooms and outdoor showers to rinse the sand off at the park. There are several restaurants nearby and many more in nearby Gulf Shores just a few minutes down the road. There's a Publix just over the bridge for groceries. Overall we enjoyed our stay here and would highly recommend it for those looking for more room and privacy for the same price as a much smaller place. We would definitely stay here again should we decide on Perdido Key for our next beach trip.- RH of Atlanta, GA
Great Location! Very Nice Villa
We LOVED staying at this Purple Parrot Villa. The décor is fabulous, and the location cannot be beat. We visited Johnson Beach and LOVED having covered pavilions as well as the restrooms just steps from the beautiful beach. There are many great dining places close by without the crowds of people that are in Orange Beach. While you are there make sure and visit the Blue Angels. We enjoyed the pool and Tiki bar after a long day at the beach. We will be staying here again.
This property was exceptionally clean and tastefullydecorated. We loved the pool and tiki bar, and even grilled out in front of the unit a few nights. We visited Johnson Beach which was not overly crowded. We didn't have to compete with being on the "front row" of the beach, like you do at a lot of the high rise units. This is the perfect location away from the congestion in Gulf Shores and Orange Beach. There is little traffic and great shopping very close that includes Target, Walmart, Publix & Winn-Dixie (and the shelves are full-not bare). Will be staying here again very soon! There are so many things to do and great places to eat!
