Williams Lake is a true mountain escape. This natural lake is a hidden gem inside one of the most unique mountain landscapes. The lake is a real recreational paradise. Wake up and go for a mountain bike ride or run, hit the lake for an early water ski or fish for Rainbow Trout. Early afternoon enjoy the water with swimming and boating. White water rafting or trail riding await your trip in less than a 30 minute drive. Or, if you prefer sit back and read a book and refresh in the mountain breeze. There is no better place. There is something for any vacationer. The cabin was constructed in 2012. The main floor offers an open floor plan with one bedroom with a queen bed, full bath, kitchen with bar along with sitting area. The 18 foot tall ceilings give it a refreshing open feeling. All of this faces the lake which is south facing bringing in great sun. The second floor is a loft which has two couches and a TV and DVD player. Also included on the second floor is a room that is perfect to throw all the kids in with a bunk bed and two single beds. The basement is unfinished daylight which is being used for recreational storage. In the uninfinshed basement there is also one more bedroom with a queen bed. A five minute walk downhill or one minute drive on your four wheeler is the private waterfront access. This includes a double deck with comfy outdoor furniture and picnic tables. Renters are encouraged to bring an ATV to go to and from the lake and explore but it's not neccesary. Continue down the stairs to the dock. Deep shoreline allows for easy boat docking. EZ dock with bumpers = easy on your ski boat. (Ski boat not included with the rental.)

HOT in a bad way
House was very hot when we got there. There was no air conditioning and no outside vent for an air conditioner to work. No WiFi from the house. Had drive 20 min bf we got cell service. Made multiple calls to both owner cell phones without answer and unable to leave message bc voice mail on both phones were full. The house is advertised as having air conditioning but it does not. Afternoon sun comes in those big front windows and really heats up the house. No blinds or curtains to block it. The bedroom on the ground floor was very small, all closed up and smelled musty and dank. I am allergic to mold. The smell was fairly strong but could not open windows as 100degrees outside and extremely Smokey. There was a heat and smoke advisory out for the area. Initially I thought I must have misread the ad bc it seemed insane someone would say the home had air conditioning when it did not. We eventually left as we could see no way the situation could be resolved. The owner did call us back as we left Salmon and acknowledged our concerns about the heat but said nothing about an air conditioner. I looked up the listing again and saw that air conditioning was listed as one of the 3 top amenities in the home. Owner was again not available but talked to his wife or girlfriend who was surprised that air conditioning was listed with amenities and stated this seemed like false advertising and she was going to talk to her partner about it. She also stated “believe me I know how hot it gets in there.” The owner returned my call that night. As for the air conditioner, he said there was one in the master bedroom closet. We did not check the closets for an air conditioner so I can’t say if that’s true or not. The owner said it would have at least cooled the bedroom. However air conditioners that work by a hose through the window do not have a filter and would have brought smokey air in. Not acceptable for someone with asthma. Owner also argued house was high enough in elevation that it would have eventually cooled itself off. These are all irrelevant factors as he claimed the property was air conditioned when it was not. This is our first bad HomeAway experience. Not just about wasting our money, our vacation time, gas and hotel fees. It was an 18 hour round trip with no vacation to be had. Owner said a refund was out of the question. I notice there is only one recent review. Perhaps the quality has changed. Don’t come in the summer if it’s hot.
I’m sorry your trip didn’t work out. I wish you would of given me the opportunity to address your concerns. The Cabin does get full sun exposure and can be warm in the afternoon. We have instructions on how to cool it off which includes a portable AC unit but not central air.
Nice place to stay
I will definitely go back if I get the chance. Private, good fishing, and quiet. Neighbors were nice and helpful.
We enjoyed a beautiful time at the Auge cabin. The cabin itself is very nice, comfortable and has all you need for a get away in the mountains.
Our only complaint was unrelated to the cabin, but would have been nice to know prior to making the trip. Williams lake was full of algae, so bad we could not swim.
On the positive side, had great time fishing.
Quiet, remote lake with beautiful mountain views
This is a well maintained, newer house overlooking a lake. The front windows and deck provide amazing views of the rocky mountain and lake. Our family enjoyed exploring this area of Idaho and Williams Lake for the first time. The road is pretty high and windy and it is a steep hike to the lake. However, the remoteness of this lake made it a relaxing getaway, and you can drive a vehicle to the steps going down to the dock. We liked the boat ramp and day use area. We took our kayak over there a couple times to fish around the rocky island formations and closer to the inlet. The owner was wonderful to work this and quick to respond to communication. Thanks for sharing your home!
Lovely View on a peaceful lake
The Auge Family cabin was very comfortable for our group of 5 adults and 2 small dogs. The cabin sits on a hill side all by itself so it is very quite and private. The view is really beautiful.
The cabin has everything you will need to enjoy this wonderful vacation rental. Nate was a pleasure
to work with!
