Loved this house.
A beautiful house. Furnished and decorated well. Everything worked and it was very clean. I would definitely stay there again
Gorgeous home and property / Amazing host! / Book this place!
I had a wonderful monthlong stay at Mike's home in February. It was a peaceful and spiritually healing visit. The energy there was wonderful and incredibly relaxing for both me, my three horses and a standard poodle.
The house was spotless and sparkling, and it's beautifully cared for. It's also gorgeous inside (with an extremely comfortable bed and blinds that darkened the bedroom).
Even though the photos on HomeAway of this southwestern adobe-style house are beautiful, it far exceeded my already high expectations. The rooms were large and airy. There were plenty of doors and windows that let in lots of light. It was expertly decorated and had an open, spacious floor plan. The place looked as if it had just been built, it was in such beautiful condition. Great TV, Satellite and movies to watch. A lovely backyard dotted with trees, a high-end Weber grill, seating and sprouting grasses. It was surrounded by an adobe-style wall. My dog stayed in the enclosed backyard while I rode my horses right off the property onto public land. The horses had many acres to run and play and the entire property was also fenced, with a gate to public land.
House had plenty of room, and I didn't even bother using the upstairs. Authentic, highly polished Saltillo tile graced the entire downstairs except for a carpeted bedroom and a separate laundry room, which by the way had the best front-loading washer and dryer I've ever used (and I have an excellent one at home that I'm now drooling to replace with one like Mike's). The large, fully equipped kitchen had granite countertops and a granite-covered island. It had beautiful wooden cabinets and a large dining table, with lots of seating.
Mike provided a well-stocked kitchen with food basics available and lots of spices.
The couches in the living room were huge and soft and cozy.
I loved the overhead lighting because it set the mood and most of it wasn't florescent.
The home had every amenity inc. a wood stove. The bedroom had an extremely large walk-in closet and a an adjoining bathroom with a deep soaking tub and double-headed shower.
Stunning Travertine tile was everywhere.
I also can't say enough about how kind and thoughtful Mike was. He was available by phone anytime I needed anything. He's a down-to-earth person, who is interesting to talk with.
The property is in Hereford—quiet, yet close to Sierra Vista.
I give this place my highest possible rating. And I plan to come back next year.

Pleasant surroundings, the house was clean and comfortable.
Excellent. See full review.
Myself, I think this rates 5 stars. It’s a handsome custom home set at the base of the Huachuca (Wa-CHOO-kuh) mountains on a large, well-treed lot. To the west you can view Carr Peak rising about 4300 ft. above this home’s already significant elevation of about 4900 ft. If you don’t mind walking the shoulder of Hwy 92… I saw both bicyclists and walkers… then, only ½ mile south from your front door you can see both Carr Peak and neighboring Miller Peak, the highest point in the Huachuca and second highest point in Cochise county… almost 9500 ft above sea level.
Having dogs, we appreciated the surrounding chest-high wall, front and back (which doesn’t spoil the views one bit)… plus the added option of walking around the fully wire-fenced property line beyond, again both front and back. The neighborhood is sparsely homed… I counted 8 mailboxes at the entrance… and the homes are well spread out to offer excellent peace and privacy.
Inside the home was spacious and very well appointed. If your evenings are free there is a well-equipped entertainment center with 5.1 surround and a “smart” Blu-ray player… meaning it can serve whatever streaming accounts you have. The Internet provider seems to be Cox cable and the TV provider was Dish. The later may not offer many of the channels you are used to viewing but hey, that’s where streaming fills in.
The only negative you might encounter is poor cell reception. But, since we had excellent Internet connectivity we turned to Skype and were able to do everything we had wanted a phone for.
One tip. VRBO mentions an upper floor. There is no one living there. That is just extra bedrooms you may wish to rent for larger parties. If not, they are locked. This property is completely your own during your stay. The owner is a homebuilder of both this and other homes in the area. A very pleasant fellow who we only met twice during our one month stay, when he came to do some outdoor property maintenance.
This home was so wonderful. The quality was such you don't regularly find for rentals. The setting was truly perfect...we could have stayed longer. Everything about this home is first class with absolutely everything you might need for a quality stay. It's peaceful and beautiful and we would certainly love to stay here again if in the area. Easy drive to Sierra Vista and Ft Huachua.
A few of the local attractions Bisbee, Tombstone, Nogales, Winers, Bird watching in Ramsey Canyon and Kartchner Caverns.
