It's a short walk away about 5 mins (9 houses down), and an even quicker bike ride (less than 90 seconds, at a leisurely pace). With the Beach Ordinance in effect requiring all items be removed from the beach 1 hour after sunset, the added advantage to this home is that you can drive and park by the beach access while you lounge on the beach, making removing your beach gear nightly a breeze. There are few streets on the Cape that you can do this on.

Cape San Blas itself, also has several dedicated beach access points where you can actually drive on the beach to find your perfect beach spot to hang out at, for the day. Permits are needed for this and can be obtained from Gulf County Tax Collector, the application fee, as of June 2017 for non residents, is $300.

Located on the North end of the Cape, where the water is clearer. The Cape area is family friendly with uncrowded pet friendly beaches, dogs are allowed on the beautiful pristine beaches at any time of the day or year... unlike some other beaches. Kids love to swim and boogie board in the shallow water. Great for catching blue crab, hermit crab and fishing. Cape San Blas has been rated the #1 beach in America. The Cape is 20 minutes to Port St Joe and 30 minutes to Apalachicola or Mexico Beach, for your shopping and dining pleasure.

Perfectly Pawfect is listed on multiple sites.

About Michelle Casey

My husband and I met in England, he is American and I am English, we moved over to the USA in 2001, where we have made it our home. We have 2 beautiful children and 3 wonderful dogs. We are so thankful and fortunate to have been able to build our second home in beautiful Cape San Blas, and we are happy to share our beautiful home with you. I constantly try to keep this home updated and pristine, I want you to have the best experience possible when vacationing at our home and so if I have overlooked something that would be a great addition, please let me know. I want this to be as Perfect as possible for you, as it is for me.

Michelle Casey purchased this house in 2013

Why Michelle Casey chose Port St. Joe

After many years of beach vacations, we grew tired of crowded beaches, endless traffic and not being able to take our dogs with us, we craved a laid back, quiet, relaxing spot. Our 1st visit to the Cape was in April 2013 we immediately fell in love with the area … pet friendly, pristine uncrowded beaches, clear water, it was everything we wanted and more. It took us 6 months, but we finally found a perfect spot. Every time we come down, our stress just melts away. We hope that you enjoy the area as much as we do. It is an amazing place!

What makes this house unique

The house is located on the beach side of Cape San Blas Road, 1 house away from William J Rish Recreational park, which gives us a beautiful panoramic views of the Gulf.

You can actually drive to our community beach access and park on the street for the day, making delivering and removing your beach gear each night a breeze.

Coming soon- we will have a dedicated Bay access point, where you can drop off your kayak's and paddle boards and leave them there for the duration of your stay, so you don't have to carry them back and forth and you can enjoy Bay activities as well, during your vacation.

Guestbook comments from the manager

"We spent a memorable week with our

four children at this beautiful beach home with breath taking views and

endless white sandy beaches off the beaten path in the quaint little area of

Port St. Joe. We were immediately charmed by this lovely new home with it’s

upscale beach chic décor and every modern convenience: from the spacious,

open and perfectly stocked kitchen, to the comfortable and attractive

bedrooms with flat screen tv’s, the heated swimming pool and screened in

decks off of every room, ideally furnished for coffee and a book, game

playing and family meals overlooking the ocean. By day we played in the

pool, searched for seashells and dolphins at the beach, rented a boat,

browsed the little shops and ice cream parlors in the area, and explored the

national parks just a few minutes away. By night we watched stunning sunsets

and had bonfires on the beach. To fall asleep and awake to the expansive

views and calming sounds of the ocean is an absolutely magnificent thing for

us urban dwellers."

Loved the view and the screen porch!

  • 5 of 5

We spent two months here and found all of the comforts of home and more. Our old dog loved the elevator. We had guests occasionally and they all loved this house too. We have stayed in two other homes on Cape San Blas and this was, by far, the best! We felt very safe during a few strong storms, unlike our other places. The best part is the view and the close proximity to the beach. We spent every day walking the beach and relaxing on the porch. The privacy is great too. Thanks Michele for being so attentive to our needs. As you know, we're coming back again. Can't wait!

Beautiful home!! Amazing view of the Gulf!

  • 5 of 5

We had the best family vacation in this gorgeous home! The pool was a huge hit with the kids, and worth the extra $$ to have it heated.

The weather was Cape Perfect all week! We ate dinner outside every night. Cooking was a breeze with all the wonderful amenities. I am even now trying to convince my husband to get a large farm sink!!

Everyone loved having their own private bedroom space and porches.

The rental credit got us two full sizes bikes. Made it easy for quick trips to Scallop Cove or Trading Post.

My family has been coming to Cape San Blas for over 20 years and this was by far my favorite house!! We are planning to come back next Spring Break!

Had a wonderful time!

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay at Pawfectly Perfect. We vacationed with another family - a total of 8 people. The house is spacious and we never felt crowded. The house is beautifully decorated and very well thought out. The screened in porches were wonderful and the view spectacular. Unloading everything when we arrived and then loading everything leaving was made much easier with the use of the elevator. It was nice to float in the pool for a bit when returning from the beach. Even though the house was not on the beach, it is a short, manageable walk. We loaded our truck with all the beach stuff and was able to unload at the beach access.

Perfect!!

  • 5 of 5

What a stunning home. It has everything you could possibly need to make your holiday PERFECT! Generous in space, abundant views and a huge amount of peace.

The large deck is awesome. Sit there, sleep there, listen to the waves as it lulls you to rest.

Great house, too far to ocean, too close to road

  • 3 of 5

The house is a well designed for families, with individual lights and electrical outlets at each of the bunk beds. The house has a lot of nice features, like large showers, solid wood interior doors, and plenty of recessed lights in the great room ceiling. The 9 year old golden retreiver loved the elevator. The TVs are better than described. Internet is cellular 7 down 1 up, no router, only wifi. T-Mobile was 1 bar at north or west window, but frequently no bars. The view of the ocean from any window is exceptional, and the third floor screened in porch has a great conversation pit. The house is very close to Cape San Blas road, and traffic is noisy, negating the tranquility of the porch and of the pool. We were surprised by the length of the walk to the beach. We walked down Cape San Blas road, and through a subdivision, to the beach access point. There was a small caddy in the outdoor closet which helped, but wasn't enough. We rented a beach wagon for the week. There was no beach furniture or umbrellas. The management company provided exceptional service. We had issues with the air conditioner and asked for someone to check on Monday. They sent someone on Sunday. The only problem we did not ask get fixed was the fenced in area for the dog. Part of the ground had washed out under the fence, so the dog pen wasn't usable. The beds were comfortable, although not firm. We likely won't rent this house again.

Owner's Response: Thank you for taking the time to provide a review. We agree that the gulf and bay views from the house are spectacular. Views of both the sunrise and sunset are awesome. The elevator is great feature for our guests who don’t like stairs and is very convenient for getting that Saturday morning load of groceries to the kitchen. While you may hear some traffic on the porch or at the pool, I trust you found the inside of the home to be quiet as unlike most homes on the Cape, our home is built using ICF construction which is basically a 12 inch thick concrete wall that not only is very energy efficient, but serves to sound proof the home as well. Unfortunately, the Cape is very narrow and no homes are very far away from Cape San Blas Road. Fortunately, the Cape is not densely populated so the traffic is usually very light apart from your typical check in/out days when everyone is either coming or going. Internet and wireless have always been a problem at the Cape due to its remote location. We installed a dedicated DSL line for internet, which has the highest bandwidth available on the Cape, rather than the typical “shared group cable plan” which most rentals offer, as we found the cable internet on the Cape to be worse for speed than DSL. However, we have the Property Manager investigating the internet speed to ensure there is not a problem with it. Every rental comes with a $175 Beach Equipment Rental Credit, upon completing a reservation the Property Manager sends out an email not only confirming you reservation and payment, but also containing the information you need to use this beach rental credit. All the equipment (bikes, chairs, beach carts, kayaks etc) is dropped off and collected from the house, to make it even more convenient for our guests. The walk to the beach is along Port St and Windward and is about 8 houses/lots from the beach. We walk to the beach when we are down with our children and it usually takes about 5-10 minutes. We have had quite a bit of rain at the Cape this year and unfortunately the dog run has had some erosion. We are working with the Property Manager to have this rectified as quickly as we can. The beds in the home are medium firm and high quality as it is tough to accommodate everyone's mattress preference. Thank you again for the feedback and if you don’t return to our home we hope that you will come back to the Cape. It is a special place to decompress and spend time with your family and pets.

Beautiful house & nice pool but a bit too far to walk to the beach w/ little kids & toddlers

  • 4 of 5

Pros:

- The house is gorgeous and well maintained.

- Views are amazing!

- Screened deck is great - keeps the bugs out and fans help make it much more usable than other houses on CSB where we have stayed.

- Elevator is awesome since there are so many stairs. We brought baby gates to keep our toddler off the stairs.

- Pool is very nice - it's shady in the morning & very sunny in the afternoon. We used the pool in the morning & then went to the beach in the afternoons (after naptime).

- Rental credit is very nice & the equipment was delivered promptly & in good shape.

Cons:

- The walk to the beach is along the main road on CSB & there are only sidewalks on the far side of the street. It is a 2-3 minute bike ride but walking takes about 10-15 when you have a bunch of stuff & little ones. After the first day, we opted to take the car over to the access point w/ all the beach stuff & kids & then 2 adults (of the 4 in our group) rode rented bikes over. Beach wagon was not really useful because you can't get it across the boardwalk access to the beach.

- There were a few issues with the electrical system when we arrived but the management company was working on them & got workarounds in place by Monday.

- The internet signal is also week within the house & we couldn't get a resolution while we were there.

- The kitchen was a little sparse for cooking but we were able to do almost everything we planned.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your feedback. When we built the home we were thinking about what families would want and need. The screened in porch is great for nap time because you still have the incredible views of the water and get the breeze from the beach! Driving to the beach is a great option with little ones but we enjoy the walk or quick bike ride. The great thing about the house is that even if you have to leave the beach you can still enjoy the unobstructed views of the gulf. Thanks for letting us know about the kitchen situation. We love to cook and stocked the kitchen with everything that we have in our own home. If there is any tool or gadget you were missing, please let us know so that we can make sure it is available for you and our other guests. This is the first year we were not able to make it down to the house during the summer season where we take stock of what is in the house and what has gone missing. The property manager has done a complete inventory of the kitchen supplies and we will have all the missing items replaced. Thanks again for choosing to stay at our home and we hope to see you again at the Cape.
