Great find

  • 5 of 5

What a pleasant place to relax and enjoy nature. My husband and I were celebrating our 1 year anniversary. The mother-in-law suite was perfect for the weekend; it had cable, wifi, and a kitchen equipped with all your cooking needs. We were able to watch a little TV when it rained, cook outside on the grill, take the kayaks out, and RELAX! Mike and Joy were great hosts; we will definitely come back and visit again!

Great Place

The accommodations were wonderful. The only thing wrong is the fish were not biting. Would not hesitate to go there again.

Lovely Place to Stay

  • 5 of 5

Very nice. Roomy studio-like home. Very clean, dog was allowed, and the furniture and bed were comfy. All necessary kitchen items were available. For coffee drinkers the coffee pot was too small. Cable TV and internet were provided. Lots of towels in very clean bathroom. The view is great, especially at sunset. The home sits nearly at the edge of the water and there is a dock. Would visit again.

This is the perfect place for nature lovers!

  • 5 of 5

This is the perfect place for nature lovers or anyone who needs a relaxing get away. We had such a great time just taking the kayaks and paddleboat out (which are provided) and watching the native birds. The home is cozy and quaint and provides everything you will need. I would highly recommend to anyone!

For the price, it can't be beat!

This is the second year that we have stayed at Mike's, and will likely stay again. Not fancy, but clean and comfortable. It seems counter-intuitive since it is so private, but the location is central to pretty much everything. Midway between Dunnellon and Crystal River, Silver Springs and Homomassa. Nice museums and state parks.

I haven't cracked the fishing yet, but the included kayaks make for some great bird watching.

WE are a year round destination where you will experience a corner of the world filled with great scenery, heron, egret, and other abundant wildlife; there is a designated birding trail near the Inglis Dam, just two miles from our property. Bring your camera and capture some of the greatest photo-ops imaginable. we are located in secluded, unspoiled area only 6 miles southwest of Dunnellon and 7 miles northeast of Cristal River. In our area you will find modern stores, quaint shops, friendly people, and a pace of life you might have thought was gone forever. If boating and fishing are what you like, our 3,500 acre dam controlled lake is one of the finest in the state for trophy sized bass and great crappie and bluegill. Lake Rousseau is fed by the Withlacoochee River and the natural springs of the Rainbow River, which flows into the Withlacoochee at Dunnellon. These two rivers provide Lake Rousseau with an abundant supply of water. While fully navigable, Lake Rousseau is not traveled at high speeds due to the presence of stumps, so your fishing won't be disturbed by jet skis or wake from others passing by at a break-neck pace. We have our own private boat launch. And just two miles from our property, there's a public water launch below the dam, where you can put in and reach the Gulf of Mexico. So freshwater or saltwater, we've got access to both! Our property is within easy driving distance of many of Central Florida's main attractions as well as local ones, including viewing West Indian Manatees in their natural habitat. Were within two hours drive from Orlando or Tampa, and about thirty minutes from Ocala and just over an our from Gainesville. We look forward to your stay...
