About Jacque and Larry Robeson

Jacque and Larry Robeson grew up in Southeast Washington and both enjoyed trips to Wallowa Lake as youngsters with their parents. We never dreamed we might someday have a place at the lake and were blessed to be able to buy our 2nd home in 1990. Our family has enjoyed it over the years and we recently have opened it up to others to experience this beautiful mountain retreat. We know you will enjoy it too.

Jacque and Larry Robeson purchased this cabin in 1990

Why Jacque and Larry Robeson chose Joseph

Many people just a 100 miles from Wallowa Lake have never heard of it. The crystal clear water and snow topped mountains are a stark contrast to the wheat fields that are so close by. We both love to boat, fish, camp out, view wildlife, and the privacy of this spot. It's pretty cool to see deer walking around, chipmunks hoping for a handout, beautiful birds and spectacular scenery. The fact that it is not on the beaten path but very accessable makes it all the more desireable. The air is so clean and fresh and just smells good. The lake itself is crystal clear.

What makes this cabin unique

Very easy access for elderly or anyone who may have trouble navigating stairs, some of best views from any cabin, large flat yard for games, cozy knotty pine interior throughout. Sorry, we are not totally handicapped accessible (bathrooms).

Very cozy and relaxing

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved this property. The whole area of Joseph and Enterprise is beautiful and with a cozy, clean cabin it just makes it a little like Heaven on Earth. The cabin was very well supplied. We would definitely stay there again and highly recommend it to others.

Beautiful views

  • 3 of 5

Home has beautiful lake views and is well equipped. We stayed a week and love to cook but did not like hand washing dishes ( no dishwasher). Beds need to be upgraded and more storage space needed. Location is close to town. Better directions needed on how to find the home as we arrived at night and spent a lot of time trying to find property (address on the street would be helpful as drive dips way down from street). Rocker recliners are comfy but difficult to get out of as broken. Ceilings low and home appears to have been a mobile home with cedar paneling added on inside.

Owner's Response: Wow-interesting review. First, the fact there is no dishwasher is plainly noted on the VRBO site list of amenities. Secondly, this is a cabin in the Wallowa Mountains. This was not an upgrade from a mobile home but simply a lower ceiling and not cedar but knotty pine as many cabins in this area are. The directions to the cabin were carefully written so even those who hadn't been to the area could follow and the address is on the side of the cabin. This is the mountains and when it gets dark it is dark, no city lights to light your way. Rocker recliners are not broken as noted but are a little stiff to operate. As to storage space, again, the size of cabin (900 sq ft) is plainly listed on VRBO and we strickly limit guest to a maximum of 6 for this purpose. There are dressers in both bedrooms and open cabinets for storage. Sorry, you didn't enjoy, but cabin life in mountains is not for everyone.

The house on the lake was awesome!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I spent one week at the place. we had a great time, the cabin was warm and the view was awesome. It rained the entire time but we still had a lot of fun. If you go to Joseph its worth staying at this place.

Owner's Response: Thanks, Greg and family. Glad it was a good stay for you. You left cabin in fantastic shape and we appreciate it. You are always welcome. By the way, what's your son's name and where does he work in Joseph. Like to meet him next time we are there. Jacque and Larry Robeson.

Perfect little lake house...

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time at the lake house. It has great views of the lake and is very private. I enjoyed swimming in the lake every day. It is quite close to both Joseph and local trail-heads.

The only caution I would have is if you are 6' 3" or over you might need to watch your head on a few beams.

Lakefront beauty

  • 5 of 5

An excellent cabin in a spectacular place. The accommodation is fully equipped to provide a comfortable stay. The lake is visible from a wall of windows along the east wall. The deck and dock offer great access to the lake. We hope to return here again. The owners are responsive and accommodating. They have a well-organized and well-maintained cabin.
