Seymour Arm Waterfront Cabin 100' Beachfront on Shuswap

Bedrooms 4
Property type cabin
Minimum Stay 7 nights

About the property

4 Bedroom Lakefront on 1.5 acres

Gorgeously upgraded cabin with road and water access sits on 1.5 acres on Seymour Arm Lake of Shuswap, in Gilman's Bay, around the way from Bughouse Bay and across from Silver Beach. We are 2 hours by car north of Kamloops, including one hour on a gravel logging road or 45 minutes by boat from Sicamous. We are not far from the mouth of the Adam's River where you can watch the salmon run in the fall or Albas Falls where you can take a great hike with the family. This is the perfect retreat for couples or families looking for an upgraded yet cozy cabin on the water that provides the best of both water and land activities. For active lifestyles, you can waterski on the crystal glass lake, wake surf all day, fish or go for a quad or dirt bike ride in the backcountry or into town. For those without a motor, you can relax on the deck, swim and go for long hikes. For everyone, this is the place to relax and recharge with family and friends.

Our cabin provides upgraded conveniences and yet still feels like a cozy cabin. Gourmet kitchen includes large stainless steel fridge, dishwasher, Wolf stove, full slab of granite island for entertaining and expandable dining table with seating for 12. There is a modern pantry with pull out racks for packaged goods and a fully stocked kitchen so you have everything you need for a great vacation. There is a Weber BBQ on large deck along with 2 comfortable loungers and a patio set for 6. Or take your chair down to the new 10 x 40' aluminum dock to suntan, catch fish, or admire the lake! The dock is perfect to tie up a pontoon or surf boat. Lakeside fire pit has comfortable chairs too perfect for roasting marshmallows and star gazing. Four Tommy Bahama beach chairs are available for your use as well as two stand up paddle boards and one kayak.

Cabin includes 2 queen bedrooms on main floor, king bed with memory foam in master upstairs along with queen bed + twin bed in back upstairs bedroom and queen in upstairs loft. Travertine tile and upgraded bathroom on main floor has shower and tub. Upstairs bathroom in master bedroom has shower, sink and toilet. Living room includes 42 inch Samsung TV and upstairs master bedroom has new 40 inch Sony TV, both with Shaw Satellite TV including lots of sports and movie channels, and cabin has wifi and lots of dvds, books and games. If you want downtime, turn your phone off and have a nap on the hammock! Our cabin has cell service if you need phone service. We require renters to bring their own bedding and towels.

We make our own power from hydro, solar and battery power making us self sufficient and off the grid. However, power must be managed so although our cabin sleeps more than 8 people, we try to restrict the rentals to a maximum 8 people to conserve power. Any more than 8 people must be agreed on by us. Water is not potable and water jugs are supplied and can be filled up by the Pub. Weekly cleaning and garbage pick up is available.

Daniels Store, a 10 minute drive or 5 minute boat ride has everything you need from fresh to frozen to dry goods, ice cream and local souvenirs. If you have been to Seymour Arm, you will know it has one of the nicest, white, sandy beaches in BC and the water is clean and warm, perfect for swimming.

Our cabin is a 2 hour drive from Kamloops (one hour on pavement and one hour on gravel) or 45 minutes by boat from Sicamous. Please contact us for driving directions. Often people drop their boats at Anglemont or St. Ives and boat up while their partner drives their vehicle up.

About Sharon Skiba

Mike used to rent watercraft off the Point in Bughouse Bay and has been going to Seymour Arm since the early '90's. We met at my best friend's cabin and knew we wanted to own property there. Waterfront property is hard to find at Seymour Arm and we finally found our piece of paradise in 2003. We got married, had kids and now our whole family enjoys our cabin. Our rentals help to pay for upgrades and so thank you for considering our cabin. We hope you love your stay there as much as we do. The sunsets and hot temperatures will keep you coming back for more!

Why Sharon Skiba chose Seymour Arm

Seymour Arm is gorgeous and is all season. It provides a fabulous summer retreat as well as offers excellent sledding in the winter.

What makes this cabin unique

Our cabin is off the grid and makes it own power using hydro, solar and batteries. We offer a modern cabin yet with a cozy, cabin feel.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Huge thanks to Mike and Sharon for sharing their fabulous cabin! This is an amazing place to make summer memories! The cabin is truly a place to relax & enjoy the Shuswap and it was perfectly appointed for 7 of us! The kitchen is incredibly organized with a tremendous area for preparation, storage, and seating! We loved the large dining table which allowed for terrific visits and meals together! We appreciated the two main floor bedrooms which ensured access to the lovely deck for our parents, who, now, in their 70s have mobility challenges. Bedrooms are a great size with dressers to organize clothing, beds are super comfy and you will sleep incredibly well, as the evening breeze cools off the day's sunshine. The front deck has full seating, sun deck chairs and a table for meals! We enjoyed access to the barbecue too! Just a few steps to the water, the dock provides access for boats, and swimming. Loved the picnic table and umbrella on the dock for our family who are sensitive to the sun! Mike and Sharon are incredible hosts who have shared their home - making sure you have everything you need to experience life at the lake! The neighbours are super friendly, loved the access to the floating store... we felt blessed to be here! Memories made on a fantastic holiday! Hope to be back!

We had an incredible time, the property was amazing

  • 5 of 5

We had the place for the last week of August and Labour Day, the weather was amazing, the water was so warm that we lived on the dock the entire time. WE brought paddle boards to complement what they had there so we explored the beaches around the bay. The "locals" were so nice and we learned a lot of the history for this area. Off the grid by choice it was cool to teach the kids. Hope to go back year after year. The house had everything you needed and more.

We Never Want to Leave - A GEM on the BEACH!

  • 5 of 5

This Cabin is equipped with everything you will need for an amazing holiday. It is a bit of a drive to get to Seymour Arm if you are going in by car, but once you have arrived you will realize that is was worth it. The location on the water is ideal, with fantastic afternoon sun, clean swimming right off the beach and the dock that you can lounge on for hours. If you like to water ski, wake board or surf - bring your boat as the water here is often like glass and there is not much boat traffic. Sharon and Mike have thought of everything and it really is like a 'home away from home'. We like to eat good fool when we are on holidays and the kitchen here is a dream to cook in! We have stayed here multiple times and we have never been disappointed. It is also very beautiful in September if you are fortunate to be able to go on a holiday after all the kids go back to school. Perfect for two couples. I would give this cabin and location on the lake 6 stars if I could. ★ ★ ★ ★★ ★

Excellent holiday rental!

  • 5 of 5

Our family spent a wonderful week long get away, to celebrate our 25th anniversary. It was such a perfect location for a relaxing lake front holiday, on Shuswap Lake. The cabin was ideal. (I would call it a lovely home with every thing you could possibly need, rather than a cabin)! We've already booked our next stay. The owners, Sharon and Mike, are very welcoming and helpful. The lake is one of my favourite lakes. It was glass most of our stay. We highly recommend this rental. Best holiday ever!

My Happy Place

  • 5 of 5

This is without a doubt the best part of Shuswap Lake and this cabin has it ALL. We have been coming to this part of Seymour Arm for 15 years and now that we have 3 small children we want them to experience the amazing clear water and awesome wilderness. Mike and Sharon always ensure that EVERY detail is taken care of and in our opinion there is no better place to enjoy the Shuswap summer! Just don't tell too many friends :)

Best place on Earth!!!!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 6 plus great grama stayed at this cabin and it was an amazing experience!! It was quiet and peaceful and everything we needed was there, plus lots of bonuses! Sharon was always available for questions and she made our stay very welcome! We brought our boat and kept it on the awesome new dock, even got great grama on the boat for a short boat ride to the store twice for ice cream. The kids had a blast playing in the water, trying out the kyak and paddle boards. We were able to try our hand at fishing and even though we forgot our rods, we were able to borrow theirs, which was another nice perk! The cabin itself is so beautiful, clean, and perfect, lots of room for everyone, beautiful large deck with a big awning to keep the sun and heat out. One of our favorite things to do was having nightly fires and roasting marshmallows right beside the lake. If I had more holidays this summer we would book again at the end of summer, but we are already planning next years stay. We will be regular customers for sure! We highly recommend staying at this beautiful place in paradise, you wont be disappointed!

A little piece of paradise!

  • 5 of 5

We first rented this cabin back in 2000 and instantly fell in love with the people and location of this amazing property. We have been back every year with the exception of one and we're looking forward to our next stay in summer 2015. This part of the Shuswap is in our opinion the best by far, with warmer and calmer water than anywhere else on the lake and way less boat traffic. There is something to do for everyone young and old. Excellent fishing, beautiful beaches, hiking, canoeing, and truly a boaters paradise. Also, cell phone reception can be spotty at best at this end of the lake but you will have no problem making and receiving calls due to the cell phone booster they have installed. Huge deck with amazing views, quiet and peacefull, awesome interior with all the luxuries of home, I could go on and on. There is no place we would rather be in the summer time and it is always a sad day when we have to leave. This is a guaranteed home run for anyone looking for a great family vacation! Highly recommended!!!
