About Leah Hilton

I have recently purchased this home and have decided to share it with you and your families so you can create life long memories around this beautiful area. I am a life long resident of Glen Arbor but am happy to now call Empire home.

Leah Hilton purchased this house in 2014

Why Leah Hilton chose Sleeping Bear Dunes

Having grown up here and after coming back to the area after graduating college I decided to make this area my permanent home. I found this home this past fall and fell in love.

Great house in a convenient area

  • 5 of 5

The house was perfect for my husband, son and me and would have easily accommodated a larger family. The house is well-equipped, well-maintained and very convenient to the beach, dunes and other area attractions. I'd highly recommend it.

Clean, comfortable, cute home

  • 5 of 5

We were very pleased with the look, comfort and cleanliness of this property. The neighborhood was quiet, clean and friendly. It's only a short walk into the village of Empire. The owner was accommodating and got back to us quickly. She was very welcoming and really seemed to care that we were taken care of. We would definitely rent this property again!

Cute cottage

  • 5 of 5

We had a great September weekend in Empire and Glen Arbor. What a beautiful area and such a cute house to rent. There was enough space for all 6 of us. We enjoyed putting a puzzle together and it was nice to have the kitchen for meal prep. We forgot a hair dryer and there was not one available there, but that was minor. Overall a great stay. Would definitely recommend this rental.

Gorgeous Family Home Just Minutes from the Beach

  • 5 of 5

This was our third stay in Empire and, by far, the nicest home we have rented. We were wary, after a disappointing experience with a very "photogenic" vacation rental a couple of years ago; however, we were pleasantly surprised immediately upon entering the Empire Hilton. The home was clean and spacious with a fresh, beachy vibe. (Our one-year-old son especially loved scaling the carpeted steps and running laps around the dividing wall between the living room and back hallway.) It was great having a tub upstairs to bathe the kids after long days at the beach, and a second full bathroom downstairs where grownups could shower while the little ones napped. The property is by no means `'beach front," but adults and older kids could feasibly walk to downtown Empire and the beach, making the location pretty ideal (having a 1yr old and a 4yr old, however, we preferred to drive). The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed to prepare meals at home, including coffee filters! And we were impressed to find that even the toilet paper, paper towels, and hand soap were stocked. There was no air conditioning - which is not typically an issue, given that nights 'up north' are generally on the cooler side, but we had some unusually warm weather this year. That said, all the rooms did have oscillating fans to help us keep cool on those balmy nights. If I had one complaint, it would be that the bed in the second upstairs bedroom was rather uncomfortable (I stayed in there with my daughter a couple of nights and kept rolling into the middle), but I've kind of come to expect that in vacation rentals. Otherwise, everything about our stay was absolutely wonderful and we will definitely try to book again the next time we're in Empire!

Returning to Empire

  • 5 of 5

I spent a lot of time in the Honor and Empire area as a child and want to give my children the same up north experience. The home was more than comfortable, the washer-dryer was essential and the price was right. Empire has changed a lot--especially with the remodeling of Tiffany's and the water level--but it is a home away from home for me. I hope to be able to rent the house again next summer.
