We went as a family of five plus our dog for a quick spring break road trip. This place was great; it was clean, roomy, peaceful, and so charming. Hosts were friendly and attentive. Carmen was so welcoming and nice to talk to. My kids absolutely loved the beautiful hobby farm atmosphere and loved all of the animals and the big areas to play and pet the farm cats. Our only problem was our 9 year old didn't want to leave, ha ha!

It was also close enough to visit Iowa City, Kalona, and the Amana Colonies, which we did visit all three.

Breakfast rocks! Tons of space!

  • 5 of 5

Tons of space. We hung out for two nights and a full day just playing games and cooking up food. Owners hospitality is by far best ever. Carmen makes an amazing breakfast with enough food to feed a small country. Loved the place.

A quaint and quiet place in the country, tho only minutes from almost anyplace you could want.

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely love this place and had the opportunity to stay there twice in the past few months. As we pull in we are greeted by a friendly dog and walk into the house to find a plate of fresh cookies or a bowl of fruit. The kids love to go outside to watch the cats, chickens , ducks and pigs, and throwing something for the dog to retrieve provides lots of entertainment while releasing the energy from many hours of traveling, while we adults enjoy the R & R. And her weekend breakfasts are just amazing! Definitely our go-to when traveling in the area!

Wish I had spent more time there!

  • 5 of 5

I had a wonderful stay with my dog on a drive across the country. We arrived late and I wish we could have spent more time enjoying the place. The property was beautiful and the rental was very nice and spacious, with a genuine farmhouse charm that I loved. We could have easily shared the space with 5 more people.

We were greeted by a friendly pup at the door in the morning and my dog got to play with him. The lights were on when we arrived and there was a treat on the table, which was a very welcome sight after 12 hours on the road. It was very dark and quiet for sleeping, and I got a great night's sleep.

Wonderful Weeked!

  • 5 of 5

Carmen and Scott were so accommodating. Carmen was so nice to let us use a couple of their b&b's since we have a large family. We were staying in the area because our oldest son got married on Saturday, August 26th. Having the awesome hot breakfasts on Saturday and Sunday mornings was great! We even got fresh baked cookies one of the afternoons. Thanks Scott! Thanks again for making our weekend run so seamless.
