About Wendy Kingery - Owner
Wanted a retreat for family and friends to come and visit the amazing Flathead Valley area that we love and enjoy so much! Wanted a remote, country setting, for our kids and pets to run and play, kick back and relax, yet close enough to town and things we need and enjoy. It is close to all of our favorite outdoor activities so you can enjoy the peaceful mountain solitude, air and sounds as well as local "critters" to come and visit.
Wendy Kingery - Owner purchased this Cabin in 2014
Why Wendy Kingery - Owner chose Bigfork
Fits our families 'Montana living,' wants and needs. Close to all our favorite activities, friends and family. Offers tons of room and space to entertain guests and just enjoy the holiday! Glacier Park...ONLY 45 minutes away with an awesome view for the drive! Winter Skiing at Whitefish's Big Mountain or Lakeside's Blacktail Mountain. Summer hiking at Jewel Basin, Big Mountain, Blacktail Mountain and so much more throughout Flathead Valley and down the Swan River Valley. Endless activities and NEVER enough time!
What makes this Cabin unique
Are you a pilot? Want to fly yourself to visit the valley? Well, we are only 1/4 mile from the public access Ferndale Airfield (53U). This is a great little airstrip that is very well maintained. Contact the facility directly to make arrangements for landing and parking/storage, and you are set to go! Or, Kalispell City Airport (S27) is also available 15 miles away and overnight 'parking' available through Red Eagle Aviation. Only 3 miles from 2 different rental companies for kayaks, paddle boards and/or canoes, one place in the winter offer dog sledding! Also nearby are boat rentals, jet skiis, ATV/UTV's, bikes and much more! All are reasonably priced and accommodating! We also offer private river floats down the Swan and Flathead rivers either with kayaks and/or paddle boards and/or other flotation items (Swan - Family and little kid friendly) or pontoon rowing boats (Flathead - teens/adults only, must be able to man your own boat). See parts of the rivers you won't see from the roads or even trails. Fish, swim, relax and take in the magic of the waters! Contact homeowner for details, rates, etc. Not included in rental.

So convenient and easy!
Erin was great to work with! And the camper is very clean, has all the kitchen supplies you need and is spacious!
Will definitely rent again when in Montana.
We had a great weekend. The log cabin was cozy and clean. Wendy, the owner, was great to work with. Would definitely stay again!
We enjoyed having you, thank you and hope to see you again!
Great vacation rental, even in the winter!
Considering the temperatures were in the negatives and the area received a tin of new snow, the wood stove kept the house extremely comfortable and the owner ensured the driveway was plowed and well maintained. House was cozy, clean and well maintained. I travel here often throughout the year and have already arranged to stay again!
Cozy Cabin in the Bigfork
COZY CABIN IN THE BIG FORK. There were 5 adults and 2 kids (ages 15 and 9): we all loved it. it was perfect: cabin, kitchen, location, yard. thank you
Wonderful. A few minutes from both Big Fork and the lake the house is just as listed. Quiet, on several acres with open and enclosed decks. Perfect setting. Very large rooms. Top quality furniture and beds. Great cabin feel in what is a beautiful home.
Warm, comfortable home
We enjoyed our stay in the "cozy cabin in the woods," once we found it -- Apple maps took us to a gravel road a few blocks away! Google Maps found the property reliably. Deer, including a fawn, were in the woods to greet us as we rolled in.
The cabin is comfortably appointed and clean, and has three bedrooms that sleep 2 each, a table for 6, and reclining sofas seating 5. The kitchen had most of the basics one would expect easily at hand, and it was equipped with wifi. Unfortunately, the wifi was not working during our stay, but on this trip we could get by without it. We did contact the owner about the wifi, and while it wasn't fixed during our stay and the message when they called back didn't reach us, we were confident they were going to address the issue as we left.
The cabin is within a reasonable drive of Glacier National Park and Flathead Lake, among other sights, and the owners are happy to offer tips if you contact them before heading out to sightsee.
If you are from distant places, it may help to know that there are a few quirks about more rural properties like this one, such as a need to take garbage to a collection facility (and not store it outside) and rules/restrictions about fire use indoors and out during dry periods. It pays to be a little bit flexible as guests! The owners were great about communicating the particulars in advance as much as was possible.
We'd love to stay again if we find ourselves in Montana.
Close to just about anything your heart desires! All items listed under local attractions are within 5-45 +/- mins from the house. All can be found on the Bigfork Area Chamber of Commerce Website, along with current "going ons" in the area, or visit their office just on the north side of Dairy Queen north of Bigfork Village.
