Overview

About the property

A 2 bedroom 1 bath air conditioned bungalow in a quiet neighborhood 1 block from the highway (the home doesn't back up to parkway). The master bedroom has a queen size bed, 2 closets and a TV. The second bedroom is cozy with a twin over a full bunk bed. This room has one closet.

The living room and both bedrooms have wood floors that we just had refinished. The kitchen is fully stocked for cooking, including a full size electric stove and oven, refrigerator and dishwasher. In addition we have a gas grill in the back. The state park is about 1/4 mile away and has a sugar sand beach on East Bay.

Our bungalow will be a quiet retreat after a busy day visiting the beautiful Grand Traverse Area.

About Donna

I graduated from Traverse City High School as did our children. My husband attended the Maritime Academy at NMC and is a Chief Engineer who sails on a 1000 ft. freighter on the Great Lakes. I am a RN at Munson Medical Center. In the winter I like to play hockey, curl, xc-ski and snow shoe. In the summer we enjoy mushrooming, hiking, and relaxing at our cottage. My husband enjoys fishing of any kind, winter or summer.

Great location and house!

  • 5 of 5

Wonderful location, close to everything. The house is perfect for 4 people and is stocked very well. Plenty of towels and pillows. The kitchen was also extremely well stocked. They have a griddle, blender and waffle iron. This is in addition to other kitchen supplies. The house is also very clean. We will keep it in mind for furture trips.

My parents and I really enjoyed our stay at this property. The property seems news, fresh and clean, and its nicely appointed. Having bikes at our disposal was a big plus! I would recommend this property to friends.

Good place to stay with our 2 year old and 1 month old.

  • 5 of 5

Great house and great location. Our hosts left toys and books out for the kids, which were a big hit. Easy to get to downtown by car or bike, and the neighborhood was good for morning walks too.

Traverse City is known as a top 5 foodie destination per Bon Appetite Magazine. There are many wonderful restaurants in the area known for their farm to table foods. Wine tours on both the Old Mission and Leelanau Peninsula are not to be missed. There are also many local brew pubs and distilleries in the area.

The Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes 30 miles away was voted one of the most scenic areas in the USA. Don't miss the dune climb and Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive.

Summer time includes The National Cherry Festival July 4 - 11 featuring a free air show over the bay by the USAF Thunderbirds this year. Traverse City Film Festival July 28-August 2.

Traverse Area Tart Trail is a short 3 blocks away. The bike path goes right downtown and is about a 15 minute ride and is often quicker then taking a vehicle.
