Overview

About the property

A 2 bedroom 1 bath air conditioned bungalow in a quiet neighborhood 1 block from the highway (the home doesn't back up to parkway). The master bedroom has a queen size bed, 2 closets and a TV. The second bedroom is cozy with a twin over a full bunk bed. This room has one closet.

The living room and both bedrooms have wood floors that we just had refinished. The kitchen is fully stocked for cooking, including a full size electric stove and oven, refrigerator and dishwasher. In addition we have a gas grill in the back. The state park is about 1/4 mile away and has a sugar sand beach on East Bay.

Our bungalow will be a quiet retreat after a busy day visiting the beautiful Grand Traverse Area.

About Donna

I graduated from Traverse City High School as did our children. My husband attended the Maritime Academy at NMC and is a Chief Engineer who sails on a 1000 ft. freighter on the Great Lakes. I am a RN at Munson Medical Center. In the winter I like to play hockey, curl, xc-ski and snow shoe. In the summer we enjoy mushrooming, hiking, and relaxing at our cottage. My husband enjoys fishing of any kind, winter or summer.

Donna purchased this bungalow in 2014

The property was very clean and had all the amenities you could need. There was also a very convenient binder that had tons of information about the area including beaches activities and restaurants. I have rented other properties around the US and Canada and have had troubles with entering the property and just overall condition of the rental. But this was not the case with this particular property, it was easy to enter and again the property was in great condition. Would recommend to anyone!

Great location for a small family

  • 4 of 5

The house was centrally located if you are interested in exploring all of the neighboring towns and Sleeping Bear Dunes. The property itself is updated and very clean. We had a lovely time.

Nice Bungalow

  • 4 of 5

My wife, 19 year old daughter, her friend and I enjoyed our four nights staying here in July. Everything was as advertise. Nice large kitchen. Master was large. It's a great alternative to staying in a hotel. We used this as a home base for Mackinac Island and Sleeping Bear Dunes day trips and then another hanging in Traverse City shopping. Girls loved walking to the beach each night. Close to everything we needed. Will repeat the next time we are in Traverse City.

Great getaway

The bungalow is in a nice, quiet neighborhood. It was very clean and neat. We had everything we needed. Short drive from downtown. State park just down the road. I recommend this place if you are looking for a home away from home.

Owner's Response: I'm really glad you enjoyed your stay. Thank you for saying it had everything you needed and more because the owners (Donna and Al) took time to think of what they would want and need when away from home and took that into consideration with the rental. I'm glad to hear it paid off because they truly want everyone to enjoy their stay! I also assume you mean that the playground WAS perfect because you went there so often. It's great having that option within walking distance especially with kids. It's one of my daughter's favorite stops when we visit her grandparents that live in the neighborhood. I hope your Bayshore race went well and you will come stay again for that or another visit to Traverse City! ~Colleen, Property Manager

Traverse City is known as a top 5 foodie destination per Bon Appetite Magazine. There are many wonderful restaurants in the area known for their farm to table foods. Wine tours on both the Old Mission and Leelanau Peninsula are not to be missed. There are also many local brew pubs and distilleries in the area.

The Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes 30 miles away was voted one of the most scenic areas in the USA. Don't miss the dune climb and Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive.

Summer time includes The National Cherry Festival July 4 - 11 featuring a free air show over the bay by the USAF Thunderbirds this year. Traverse City Film Festival July 28-August 2.

Traverse Area Tart Trail is a short 3 blocks away. The bike path goes right downtown and is about a 15 minute ride and is often quicker then taking a vehicle.
