A Great Place for A Family Reunion!

  • 5 of 5

We rented this property from July 2-9, 2016 as a place to gather our entire family together to celebrate our 50th anniversary. We couldn't have been happier with this decision. We had 14 people in our group, both adults and children, and the house could have handled many more. The home is a feast for the eyes, inside and out, both decorated beautifully and situated in a prime location with a 180-degree view of the valley and distant mountains. (I loved watching the sun rise every morning!) The owners have planned their home for families, providing plenty of activities for children, both young and teenagers. Our kids had a ball. I especially loved the large, well-stocked kitchen, with THREE sinks and THREE garbage disposals and TWO dishwashers. Everyone loved gathering at the spa or sitting around the campfire roasting marshmallows in the evening. The owners contacted us several times during the week to make sure everything was to our satisfaction. It was, obviously. As I said, we couldn't have been more satisfied with this venue.

Such s great week here!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 18 had the best week here with amazing views, enough room for all of us, plenty of entertainment at night after long days exploring Tahoe -- hot tub, sandbox, yard for playing the games of cornhole and ladder golf we took, pool, ping pong and football. The best was the large living room where we gathered for games and fun. We got lucky with the weather and had warm, sunny days. It did make for a very warm house during the days without A/C, but the nights cooled off and were very comfortable. There aren't window coverings in most rooms, which made for early rising with the payoff of catching the gorgeous sunrises. We loved seeing all the wildlife. Mark was the most responsive, considerate host we've ever dealt with. He was in contact whenever we needed, accommodated our needs and provided items we requested that complemented the home's amenities. We really appreciate all he did for us. We celebrated our grandson's 4th birthday, had an Iron Chef competition, and just relaxed and enjoyed each other's company. We only get together once a year as a whole group and this will be one of our most memorable weeks ever!

Awesome and amazing!!! Can't think of anyway it could have been better!

  • 5 of 5

Definitely a 5 star home...wish we could give it a 10!!! Mark was a fabulous host and went over and above what we expected in order to help make our stay even more perfect! (we would give him a 10 too!!!) From start to finish, Mark made himself available to answer any questions we had as well as guide and help us with making our plans of additional things we wanted to do. Our family had been through a very challenging several months and Mark was so compassionate and understanding of our situation. He communicates so incredibly well, and his response time is amazing! After all our planning together, he met our family at the house and did a great job explaining all the wonderful features this beautiful home has to offer. It is SO family oriented! The house covers all ages perfectly...Mark has the house stocked with indoor and outdoor games, puzzles, blocks and so much to do...not to mention the playground, which our granddaughter loved so much! One of our sons is an executive chef and he (and all of us) was amazed at how well the kitchen was stocked with everything you can imagine to make your stay perfect. We lacked for absolutely is all there! Mark truly loves this property as it was originally his home and that comes across in everything the house has to offer. We felt SO comfortable there, like we were visiting family. It is such a calm and peaceful place to stay...which our family really needed. The view is absolutely breathtaking, our daily visits from some of the local families of deer so cool to watch through the huge windows and balconies, and the night sky is like no other we have ever seen. This property is truly a one of a kind and worth every penny! The Tahoe area is so beautiful and this home was the perfect place to go with the area. Thank you, Mark, for EVERYTHING and for sharing your wonderful home with our family!

Huge THANK YOU to Mark for opening up his beautiful home to our family!

We've been spending the summer in Tahoe Donner for the past 25 years and this is hands down the best house we have ever stayed in. We hope to never stay in another house again! Not a single details was overlooked to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The interior of the house is amazing, and the kitchen is a food lovers dream. Disposals in all 3 sinks, any culinary gadget you could possibly need, awesome Viking stove/oven and 2 dishwashers! All the bedrooms were beautiful decorated and extremely comfortable. We only had 7 in our party but the house would comfortably sleep many many more! Large soaking jet tubs in 4 of the 5 bathrooms - luxurious!

But despite the incredible interior, the backyard is what really made our trip. The HUGE play area was perfect for our 3 boys. Play house, rock wall, swing set and a sandbox stocked with trucks for my 3 year old who loves to play construction site! The adults and kiddos enjoyed the hot tub and fire pit and several dinners outside (2 picnic tables!). The huge lawn was perfect for games like ladder ball and soccer and we even set up the slip 'n slide on a particularly hot day. Sunsets in the backyard were pink and perfect every single night.

Mark was a dream to work worth. He was helpful and thorough in anything we needed. My only complaint is that we couldn't stay longer. We'll be back next summer, so grateful we discovered this house! Thanks for everything Mark....just wow!

We had a fabulous experience renting this home. Mark was professional, kind, attentive, and responsive as the owner of the property. The house is in excellent condition and has all the amenities a family could need. Our young children loved the playground, and the rest of the family enjoyed the fire pit and hot tub. Stunning views everywhere! Thank you for helping us have a great vacation.
