NASCAR weekend exceeds expectations!

  • 5 of 5

When we arrived the sun was blazing on the lake and cottage. Spent the next few hours taking in the sunset and laughing about how lucky we were to find such a quaint spot close to Loudon. It was a perfect compliment after a noisy day at the track. 8 of us in all spend the weekend enjoying a dockside coffee after a morning wake up swim. Evenings were just as cool, as we solved all the worlds problems around the outside fire pit.

The cottage was immaculate and had everything we needed including some classic VHS movies, games and playing cards for our evening of poker!

Kate the owner was first class from beginning to end. She even checked in on us with a call to make sure all was as we had anticipated. It was beyond our expectations. Highly recommend this cottage for a family getaway our like us NASCAR week(end).

Peaceful, restful, beautiful lake and cottages

  • 5 of 5

Twelve of us spent a week here. We had adequate room to spread out when we wanted to do so. The only amenity we wished for is an upstairs bathroom. However, we suspect the septic system prevents that. The lake is the cleanest, clearest one I've seen. From a computer search I read that the presence of clams/mussels is an indicator of a healthy lake. We also saw frogs, turtles, and loons--the latter of which serenaded us. The beach area is great for being together and playing. The sandbox for the little ones was an unexpected bonus. We appreciated having a screened in porch facing the lake. Other places we have stayed didn't have that.

Heavenly spot!

  • 4 of 5

What a perfect spot and an iconic 1920s lake house. Not fancy, but very comfortable, spotlessly clean (I even took a picture of the beautifully and neatly organized towel closet. Whoever cleans the house does a fabulous job) Kate and her family are sweet as sugar and very helpful. The lake is crystal clear, warm and has a lovely sandy bottom. The one bathroom in the main house is downstairs (a bit of an issue for us old folks who get up to use the loo a couple of times during the night). The shower is very small, but there was plenty of hot water for our gang. The setting can't be beat and if you are a fan of "rustic", it is lovely. I have a bad back, but the beds were very comfortable. The screened in front porch was wonderful and we ate out there every night. Thanks, Kate for a splendid and much needed relaxing week!

We, a group of 8 women in our 50's stayed here recently. Every year we rent a different place for our getaways, this was a so lovely that we'd like to rent here again next year. Very unusual for our group as we enjoy exploring different locals. It was a first for us all to have our own beds and 6 of us to have our own rooms. Kate's attention to detail not only made our stay lovely but she was so easy to work with.

The lake is crystal clear and the whole setting was soooo tranquil, we all loved it.

Thank you soooo much Kate, we hope to be back next year.

The cottage was in perfect order when we arrived and enjoyable in every way for our visit. The lake is beautiful. We enjoyed swimming and canoeing, morning coffee on the porch, and a fire in the fireplace in the evening. I would highly recommend this rental. Thank you Kate for a wonderful weekend!

Excellent for our extended family

  • 5 of 5

Absolutely loved the lake house. Kate and her family were wonderful hosts and took care of all our needs. The spacious, clean and comfortable house and bunkhouse were perfect for extended family gathering after a wedding and then some quiet time for the immediate family. My dad has a walker and managed to get around pretty well (stayed in bunk house). The water was great, so clean. Such a beautiful and comfortable setting. We hated to leave!
