Nice family location
Beautiful lake. Clean and lovely camp. Full beds are small, grill wasn't working correctly but owners made several attempts to help out. The bunk house very old sofa needs to be replaced with a good adult bed! Loved the area.
great place, great weather, great owner
Large group of friends here who like to take summer vacations together. This place accomodated our needs wonderfully. It even had a separate bunk house where our new parent friends could stay with their child. Great lakeside access and features indside and outside (fire pit, an abundance of adirondak and lawn chairs, picnic tables, puzzles, games, laundry, etc.). This place also came nicely stocked with towels, linens and paper goods. We had a few unexpected hiccups, but Kate handled them positively and most expediently.
Thank you for letting us use your space and home; we had a wonderful experience.
Great group! Welcome back anytime. Thank you for taking care of our camp..
Once again our family of three generations had an amazing stay. We love the lake and the property provides all our needs--although another toilet in the main house would be much appreciated. The beach access and shallow water around the dock is perfect for all ages and swimming ability. We hope to return.
It is a charming rustic cabin, with a great location on a lake with a view.
We did not know what to expect and was a little surprised at how rustic the cabin/house is. Love the charm Katie has kept with the home. Dishes and toys and other home items from the 50's/60's. However some of the items need to be updated, like the stove/oven and microwave. We had two homes on the lake and used this one as the base so we had 27 people there eating and playing for 5 days. The large gas grill helped with our cooking needs and we had an abundant supply of firewood for the pit and the fireplace for heat.
Katie took care of us whenever we had questions and got us whatever we needed to make our stay comfortable. The fire pit and the docks were the highlight of the week. With us sitting around until wee hours of the morning. The kids went swimming and boating even though the water was freezing to the adults.
I would suggest a mosquito zapper. We don't have them in CA, we made some citronella candles out of Budweiser cans and left them for the next people along with children chairs and a blow up mattress.
If we choose to do another stay like this one we would definitely go back! Thank you to Katie and her parents!!
NASCAR weekend exceeds expectations!
When we arrived the sun was blazing on the lake and cottage. Spent the next few hours taking in the sunset and laughing about how lucky we were to find such a quaint spot close to Loudon. It was a perfect compliment after a noisy day at the track. 8 of us in all spend the weekend enjoying a dockside coffee after a morning wake up swim. Evenings were just as cool, as we solved all the worlds problems around the outside fire pit.
The cottage was immaculate and had everything we needed including some classic VHS movies, games and playing cards for our evening of poker!
Kate the owner was first class from beginning to end. She even checked in on us with a call to make sure all was as we had anticipated. It was beyond our expectations. Highly recommend this cottage for a family getaway our like us NASCAR week(end).
Peaceful, restful, beautiful lake and cottages
Twelve of us spent a week here. We had adequate room to spread out when we wanted to do so. The only amenity we wished for is an upstairs bathroom. However, we suspect the septic system prevents that. The lake is the cleanest, clearest one I've seen. From a computer search I read that the presence of clams/mussels is an indicator of a healthy lake. We also saw frogs, turtles, and loons--the latter of which serenaded us. The beach area is great for being together and playing. The sandbox for the little ones was an unexpected bonus. We appreciated having a screened in porch facing the lake. Other places we have stayed didn't have that.
Our property is in a very rural setting in central NH. The nearest grocery store and town is about 12 minutes away, 7 miles. This is a great place to relax and get away with your family.
