Thank you! Great Guests!
My family and I (my two daughters and their spouses and 4 kids from 2 - 11) really enjoyed our week. It didn't take long before everyone was asking, "can we come again next year?" The older grandchildren honed their swimming and boating skills and the 2 year old can now imitate a loon. The house is comfortable and very well-equipped (the only thing we needed and couldn't find was a can opener so we bought one and donated it to the house) and the lake is spectacular. The sandbox got a lot of use and we especially appreciated the nice sand and very gradual deepening of the water as that allowed our little one to play in the water. This is a wonderful vacation place for all ages.
Thank you so much, very nice group! And appreciate the can opener donation, I am hoping that the original just got misplaced. :-) You are welcome back any time.
Rustic lakeside home with everything we were looking for
We were three families (pre-teens to 50+) who have camped together for many years, but were looking for a step up with toilets, refrigerators, beds, places to get out of the rain, etc. This house met all our needs. Very rustic, but clean. Kitchen had everything we needed. Appliances were older, but functional. Never had a problem with septic or showers. Wish it had a bathroom on the 2nd level. Excellent fire pit with beautiful water view with several adirondack chairs and plenty of room for more seating. We brought our own grate and did most of our cooking outside on the fire. Two picnic tables outside were useful, but the seats were a bit wobbly. Direct access to lake was great, but a bit of a steep last step. Lake bottom was generally sandy right in front of the property, but some small rocks. No beach to speak of. Dock and raft were nice. Yard was large enough for frisbee, corn-hole, and similar games. Nice screen porch for when it rained. Wish fridge on porch was working. Beds were a step up from camping: pretty comfortable, but older (squeaky!) No AC, but each room had fans (some worked better than others.) Gas grill worked great (we only used it once, but it fired right up). Pull-out couch in bunkhouse not comfortable for sleeping, but plenty of room there for blow-up beds. Parking was limited, but we made it work. Several small boats/floats were included (including life vests/paddles). Lots of room for all our own kayaks, rafts, paddle-boards, floats, etc. 15 or so minutes to grocery store if needed. 30 minutes or so to hiking at Kearsarge Mt. Lake Winnepocket is absolutely beautiful, but did not give up its fish easily! Plenty of loons (and their music!). We did see a bald eagle. There are some pretty close neighbors. They were friendly enough in our limited contact. Hopefully we were not too loud!
My family and I stayed for a 4 day weekend, and it was absolutely amazing. The house was stocked with literally everything you could need and the place was huge! We all enjoyed the lake and the weather held for us so that was lovely. It was like stepping back in time visiting this adorable cottage. The owners mother came over the introduced herself and she was super nice.
We are all so thankful and happy that we got to spend some much needed time together rekindling our friendships and selves! Thank you again so much!! Highly recommend!!
The lake house was selected for a 'first cousin's reunion'.
Let's start with - it was a perfect get away spot for us. The house is vintage New Hampshiresk with a bunk house within 20 yards of the main house. Lovely setting. Easy water access and truly one of, if not the cleanest, lake I've ever seen. 9 cousins all showed up, average age of 65 +/- 10 years. The bunk house worked out for the cousin in the worst shape (walker bound). The bunk house is plain and simple with bunk beds and a pull out couch with a shower, bathroom and minimalist kitchen setup. The main house became the center for all visiting and eating... very easy to have 4 or 5 folks literally working in the kitchen with space to spare (several foodies in the group). The kitchen had everything we needed and was clean and tidy. The living and dining room were lovely but hardly ever got used as the screened in porch was simply spacious and outstanding with a table that sat 9 of us comfortably.. The bedrooms (all upstairs) were all in great shape and comfortable. The only thing to consider for us 'of age' is the number of times in a nite you had to go up and down the stairs to the first floor bath room... a half bath upstairs would have gone a long way for us. :) The outside fire pit, with supplied wood, was used each evening and the loons.... wow... impressive. So great reviews by our group. Thanks to Kate and family for accommodating us!
great place, great weather, great owner
Large group of friends here who like to take summer vacations together. This place accomodated our needs wonderfully. It even had a separate bunk house where our new parent friends could stay with their child. Great lakeside access and features indside and outside (fire pit, an abundance of adirondak and lawn chairs, picnic tables, puzzles, games, laundry, etc.). This place also came nicely stocked with towels, linens and paper goods. We had a few unexpected hiccups, but Kate handled them positively and most expediently.
Thank you for letting us use your space and home; we had a wonderful experience.
Great group! Welcome back anytime. Thank you for taking care of our camp..
Our property is in a very rural setting in central NH. The nearest grocery store and town is about 12 minutes away, 7 miles. This is a great place to relax and get away with your family.
