Lovely home in a quiet location

  • 5 of 5

The home was lovely! We enjoyed watching the tide rolling in and out from the back dock. We were able to launch our kayaks easily. The neighborhood was quiet. It is a quick drive to the beach without being in the middle of beach chaos. We would definitely stay here again!

The house was just perfect for our needs. There were six of us staying there through the weekend to attend a wedding in Savannah. The house exceeded our expectations. It was comfortable and fully appointed with all the necessities. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to return.

This was a wonderful house. It was very clean, the owner checked on us to make sure everything was as we expected. She had a wonderful book with all the things to do and see in the area. This has a beautiful view of the marsh and the tidal creek. It was fun to fish off of the dock and catch crabs! We will be back!!!

My family and I stayed for 6 days and made the best of this stay. Dealing with house inspectors 2 days looking at the broken dock boards. A man staying in the dock shed , that we was told would not be rented. Re bagging trash from the last renters and every morning of our trash because of rats and a raccoon. Grass has not been cut and cable means only a few channels.

Owner's Response: I am so sorry to hear your stay was so unpleasant. I spent a tremendous amount of time working with you before your stay because your other rental was cancelled on you. The dock house is not part of the rented premises. It isn't mentioned as part of the property. It is not rented, it is used by owner family members as I told you. The dock is a privilege to use, again not part of the rented premises. The grass was cut during your stay as it is each week. Maintenance of the dock is a safety issue with great priority assigned. The house is outfitted with basic cable which contains all local channels, most cable news channels, all the cartoon channels for the kids and then some; no HBO or movie channels are included. Certain cable networks such as Bravo are not available. There are over 30 channels. The house does have full internet and wifi, in fact I have been told it has amazing streaming capabilities. Raccoons are beyond anyone's control. They live here. We spent 30 minutes putting your trash in real trash bags so the trash company would even pick it up. This guest also snuck a dog in, the rental agreement clearly states pets must be pre approved. A cabinet door was off the hinges after their departure. There were stains and food/drink on every blanket. There were many towels that were ruined due to stains. There were bloody wash clothes left behind. When 4 people were called in to clean that house before the next arrival, the neighbor asked "wow did those people trash the house?" So I am sorry your stay was unpleasant, however it took 25 man hours to clean up after you. Because of this, the rare occurrence of charging your deposit(especially for the dog you snuck in) had to made. I understand it upset you to pay for your dog and the ruined linens, but we make the best effort to keep this house in good working order.

A very fine birthday gift

  • 5 of 5

I rented Camp Bell to celebrate my 60th birthday and my retirement with my family. I have been to Tybee Island before and I love the place. So when I asked my sons would they prefer a beach front or Camp Bell, they chose Camp Bell. It was the right choice. Always something to do if you wish to play and keep busy. Or a quiet restful place if you wish to just relax and take it easy. The beds are very comfy for a goo knights rest. That is if you don't stay up all night or get up real early to catch the tide for fishing. Close to everything on the island but away from the main crowd. Savannah (my favorite city) is just 20 minutes away. What more could a retired 60 yr old ask for? Perfect. Well, okay, the palm tree droppings made it hard to walk around bare foot on the back deck. :-)
