Beautiful one bedroom (queen bed) with bonus room (bunk beds)! New upgrades throughout (new tile, deck, paint, furniture, mattresses, linens, glassware, dinnerware, etc). One block from a breathtaking meadow with miles of walking trails. Two miles from Lake Tahoe or Heavenly and four miles to the the Casinos.

The master bedroom has a queen size bed in it. The bonus room (which is a pass-through room to the master) has bunk beds in it.

Besides the bunk beds, the home also has a lot of other brand new furniture throughout. We have washer and dryer combination unit that may be used (though it takes a while to dry if you haven't used one before). Also, we have an Amazon Fire TV unit. This unit allows you to watch any show/movie on either Netflix or Amazon Prime in HD quality for free. Lastly, the home has free high speed internet.

It is centrally located about 2 miles from Lake Tahoe, 4 miles to Heavenly Ski Resort and the Casinos, and 15 minutes from Sierra Resort. We are one block from a public meadow with a plenty of hiking trails, a stream, and amazing views.

We have created what we hope will be a perfect vacation rental. Please let us know what we can do to make your vacation more comfortable.

Note: the city of South Lake Tahoe has very strict rules around vacation rentals (their rules, not mine). Therefore, renters shall abide by all rules found in Ordinance No. 1114 of the South Lake Tahoe City Code (Vacation Home Rental Code): http://cityofslt.us/DocumentCenter/View/8908. Failure to do so results in fines of $1000 for BOTH the Tenant and the Homeowner by the city of South Lake Tahoe. Some example rules are: No excessive noise is allowed between the hours of 10pm and 8am; Parking at VHRs is limited to the paved driveway. Vehicles are not allowed to park on the streets of VHRs.

                                        • Per the city of South Lake Tahoe Vacation Home Rental: * There will no longer be warnings. All code violations to the VHR Ordinance will result in a minimum $1,000 fine to both the owner or the property and the renter of the home. * Code violations found here: http://cityofslt.us/DocumentCenter/View/8908 * If a VHR receives three fines within a 24 month period, they will lose their VHR permit. The cap on VHRs outside of the Tourist Core area will be 1,400 homes. * Parking at VHRs is limited to the garage and the paved driveway.                                           This is the third winter we have stayed in this cabin for our annual ski trip in the Tahoe area, this time for 17 days. It has worked so well for us we did not consider any place else, and again it was great. That pretty much says it all. I'm repeating my previous reviews, but the cabin has been almost completely remodeled inside, including a modern kitchen and bathroom, and is very comfortable. The gas fireplace is great for moderating the room temperature. The kitchen has all the amenities for cooking so you can easily prepare meals. Though it does not have a dishwasher, the tradeoff is it has a combination washer/dryer which is great for doing some light loads.

                                          The location is perfect for us. It is a quick 10 minute drive to the California Lodge and Aerial Tram at Heavenly. Northstar and Kirkwood Mountain are about an hour drive away. The neighborhood is away from all of the hustle-and bustle of the casinos and such, but they are only about a 15 minute drive. The cabin is closer to some of the restaurants/bars that cater to locals a bit more - Brothers was our latest find. You will need a car to get around.

                                          And I can't say enough about Kevin, the owner. We have stayed at many VRBO accommodations over the years, and Kevin is hands-down the most responsive and accommodating.

                                          My wife and I stayed here with our 2 dogs in January and had a great time. Kevin, the owner, was very responsive and went out of his way to allow our dogs to stay and it was very dog-friendly (The large fenced-in yard was exactly what we were hoping for). Kevin provided excellent instructions and we had no problem using anything in the cabin. The kitchen was modern and updated. Everything was very clean and comfortable. The size was perfect for us and the price cannot be beaten. If you have dogs and want privacy, but want to be close to the action, this is the place to be!

                                          We can't truly recommend this rental with a straight face. "Updated" means some repairs have been made and other items are barely workable. Most alarming is the inadequate window coverings... sheers on the living room window do not provide adequate coverings, especially at night if you have the indoor lights on. The owner is persnickety about who they rent to and even asked us to take the trash can to the street on trash day stating "we don't have anyone else to do it", but doesn't maintain the property well. They have lots of rules for renters, but leave the floors and cookware dirty for renters' arrival. The beds are uncomfortable, and the master bed frame squeaks every time you make the slightest toss or turn. The microwave tips over when the door is opened. The bed linens smell like grandma's attic so we had to wash all the bedding to get a somewhat better smelling bed, the washer/dryer combo takes 4 1/2 hours to run a "quick" cycle, and the owner only left us 3 bath towels to use. Overall, there price was low but you definitely get what you pay for.

                                          I wish these guests would have let us know they were unhappy with the bedding or hospitality. We take pride in our home and VRBO hosting. The window coverings, mattress and sheets are new, high quality and well-received by other guests. The bed frame is being replaced with a brand new one upon my next visit to the home (March 2018). Also, I am not sure they read the House Rules and Rental Agreement, but it clearly states ‘tenants shall dispose of all waste material in a lawful manner’. I am sorry that the guests did not alert me to their cleaning concerns immediately so that I could respond as I had been assured the space was completely cleaned. We appreciate and respect our guest’s privacy and comfort, and strive to give them the best experience at a reasonable price point.
