About Melissa Zim
Hello! We are thrilled to be apart of the VRBO family. We have been in Las Vegas for about 9 years and love the environment and community. Not to mention all the fun activities. We get the best of both worlds, nightly entertainment and great outdoor activities. We are active golf and tennis players. Plus we love to hike at Red Rock, ride bikes and take a weekend trip on our motorcycle to Bryce and Zion Canyon.

Why Melissa Zim chose Enterprise
Desert Retreat was the 1st house we ever purchased. It is in a gated community and very well kept up. Not to mention it is close to the shopping plaza, Southern Highlands Golf Course, minutes from the Las Vegas Outlet Mall and much more. It is really in a central location with everything you need close by.
What makes this House unique
The home is 2300 square feet with a real openness feeling as soon as you walk in. The kitchen has a large island for cooking, and because it is so open you can be in the kitchen while still being involved with your guests. The upstairs has a great family room for more entertainment as well and 3 nice size bedrooms. It has a lot of space for multiple families.

Loved the house. Very spacious. Nice and clean. We were there 4 nights over the new year holiday it was only about 15 minutes from the strip. We took an uber a few times xl for 6 people. They charged between 30-40$ to the strip. Owners responded quickly! Would definitely stay there again!
Beautiful home in quiet gated community.
We needed a home during a move transition, and this worked perfectly for us. The kitchen is amazing with a huge island. The owners care about the comfort of their guests and took very good care of us.
Great location to stay!
The location of the house was out of all the hustle and bustle of Vegas but not too far of a drive either. The owner responded quickly by email to any needs or concerns that arouse. The wifi wasn't working but she had already alerted us to that and promptly resolved the issue. Would definitely stay there again.
enjoyed the stay
The house was quite, clean and well maintained, the beds were comfortable. There was a small issue with the trash pickup which was resolved and was probably due to the previous guest. Melissa was easy to work with and informative, would stay there again.
This house was amazing and accommodated everyone. Comfortably it was stocked with everything we needed next time we come to Vegas we will most definitely book here.
Terrible Management of Great Property
I do not like giving negative reviews but other travelers should be warned about our experience.
Main issue- the property's floors were completely filthy upon our check-in. I emailed Melissa a picture of my daughter's socks explaining the issue and asking for a partial refund of our cleaning fee. I had to clean the tile in the interim as I have a toddler and a crawling baby and she did send someone out to clean, which was great, but interrupted our stay for more than 2 hours. Melissa refused to acknowledge the partial refund request of the fee. If wasn't just that the floors hadn't been cleaned prior to our stay, they hadn't been cleaned in months. The rest of the stay was uneventful, except for Melissa emailing me asking for the exact time we were leaving even though check-out was at 11. She wanted to know if we would be leaving earlier, which was a little annoying. When we left, we followed all instructions, took out trash, changed air temps, and put all dirty towels in the laundry. We left the place cleaner than we found it. My husband even had dusted the television because it was caked in dust.
I found out after our stay that Melissa had given me a very poor traveler rating with a one star for cleanliness and two stars for "house rules". I was beyond surprised and immediately contacted her for reasoning as we left the place spotless and followed everything she asked to a tee, including placing trash cans at the curb during our stay. She told me that she gave us that rating based on what her cleaning crew had said. Well, this was the same cleaning crew who did not clean prior to our arrival and was called in to clean. Either the cleaning crew had us mixed up with another guest or they were upset with us for alerting Melissa that they hadn't cleaned. Melissa could not give me any specifics as to what was dirty or "house rules" we had broken. Melissa said she would remove the traveler rating but it has been several weeks and still hasn't done so. There is no other recourse for travelers except to leave a review explaining the situation. Now I have a falsely terrible traveler rating that I can do nothing about.
The other issue was that Melissa refused to email me check-in instructions until after 9pm the night before our arrival. I like to be prepared prior to traveling and this was too late.
I wasn't going to review our stay because I didn't want to leave negative comments, but Melissa's behavior with the false traveler review has forced me to.
My husband and I take pride in our home, and always try to do right by our customers. When we received a call about the floors being dirty, I contacted my cleaning company right away and were at the house within two hours. During this time the guests were not home, and she was able to redo the floors again. When my cleaning lady was finishing up, the guests arrived back home and she saw her daughter walking into the garage without shoes on. At that moment we knew her feet were dirty from walking outside. NOT INSIDE. As for a refund we did not feel it was necessary since, the situation was handled within a timely manner and should not have caused a disturbance. In response to the Welcome Letter, we do provide it either the night before or the day of due to other guests currently staying at the home. We try to keep our guests safe and do not provide access until you are able to enter the home. You never know when people decide to show up early and unannounced. As you can see from all of our other reviews, we get 5 stars across the board. When I rate my guests it is done methodically, and I want to be honest for my future owners just like when you rate us. You want to be honest for future guests. I hope this ONE review does not steer you away from renting out beautiful home. Also reviews cannot be taken away after submitting. For the owner or the renter. :)
