Beautiful well equipped holiday home located close to the beach
About Susan Reah
My husband and I have spent many years enjoying Runwsick Bay and have family that have done so for many years too.
Why Susan Reah chose Runswick Bay
We decided to buy the dormer bungalow because of the location....you have the best of both worlds. The beach is close by and the house is spacious inside and out with lots to do but away from the noise of the seaside village in high season. You can come away from the beach and relax in tranquillity.
What makes this Bungalow unique
The house is well equipped for all ages as we have 3 children of all ages so understand what a family would need.

Spacious well appointed comfortable house
We had plenty of room here for 6 adults 4 children and a dog : bedrooms were lovely with comfortable beds and an absolute joy of all being en suite. The separate family bathroom was great for the children too. They really enjoyed the large garden with the trampoline, swings and climbing frames. Even after playing on the beach and a walk back up the hill from the bay they still rushed down the garden slope to bounce. The weather was kind with a chilly wind at first and then some sunshine so the hot tub was appreciated by the adults when all the children were safely asleep. The kitchen was well stocked but since we were cooking for 10 or more with visiting family too there wasn’t many large saucepans and the dining table was a tight squash.
Trying to always get 3 cars into the drive was challenging as it is narrow with scratchy bushes one side and close to the front door on the other. We walked over to Staithes , had a day in Whitby and some nice walking in Danby National Park Centre which has a good play area for children too, but mainly we just enjoyed our widespread family getting together in a comfortable house.
Amazing house (faultless)
Just back from a 3 night stay, all I can say is if Susan hasn't thought of it you don't need it. The house is so spacious and well equipped, we were a party of 9 (3 generations) plus 1 large German shepherd and it never felt crowded. The garden is massive and safe for children and pets alike, the range of toys was amazing so we didn't need to take any with us. The bedrooms are all beautifully furnished and the beds very comfy. I can't say a negative thing about the place and would without a shadow of a doubt like to return. Just pack your towels and food because that's all you need for the perfect getaway. Thank you Susan.
Thank you Hazel. You and your family were a pleasure to host!
Lovely property in an ideal location
This is a perfect house for a multi generation holiday. Lots of space, plenty of room in the garden for energetic games and of course the highly successful hot tub.
Only a few metres from the Cleveland Way with great walks to Staithes in one direction and Sandsend/Whitby in the other.
10 minute walk down to Runswick Bay beach with a nice cafe, good sands and for us the added pleasure of sitting a few metres from a young, sunbathing seal!
There is so much to do in the area.
Absolutely stunning. Best property we have ever stayed in!
Wavecrest is the most beautiful house that we have stayed in. It is spacious and light and there was plenty of room for the 10 of us without us getting under each others feet. The kitchen was huge so cooking and serving up was no problem at all. Every bedroom has its own en-suite and then a family bathroom on the ground floor as well. Outside the garden had a trampoline, kids climbing equipment, football goal and hot tub and oceans of room for the dogs and kids to run around. There are also outdoor toys in the shed that you are welcome to use.
There is everything you could possibly need from baby toys, books, DVDs and games to cake tins and bread maker. Our kids even made ice lollies while they were there!
Susan (the owner) was lovely- so friendly and helpful and couldn't have made our stay any better or easier. Thank you Susan.
The phots on Owners Direct website do not do the property justice- it was so much more than we could have hoped for.
A beautiful property with plenty of room and facilities are excellent. The owner was amazing nothing was too much for her!!!!!!
beautiful property - extremley spacious lovely family environment
We stayed at this property for 3 nights over the bank holifay - Susan was fantastic to communicate with from the time of booking
We arrived on the friday afternoon and were amazingly impressed!
The house has 3 beds downstairs (2doubles and a triple) 2 upstairs (double and twin)
The living space was amazing and includes a small snug and then large open space with conservatory area with dinning table.
Kitchen was lovely and spacious and had everything you could possibly need.
The garden was fantastic for the children it has a large lawned area ( with football goal posts) leading to the adventure playground and a trampoline .
The hidden secret to this property is that is very family friendly- susan did say there was some dvds and toys but wow we need not have taken anything! The house included a variety of toys from babies to under 6s i would say and the shed had additional toys for the garden
There were also hidden extras to make life easier including pottys, sterilisers, bath toys, changing mats, and baby walker! There was an abundance of adult board games as well as dvds.
The hot tub was amazing!! We definatley made use of this.
The area was lovely and we had walk down to the beach on our first day - there is a car park at the bottom of the hill if you'd rather drive then walk down and back up the woods / village.
Local area is very rural- nearest shops ect are in staithes
We also took our small dog with us - the garden is majority secured for them to rome around in without escaping. The beech at runswick bay is also dog friendly.
Over all fantatsic holiday aand more than we expected!
The house is located on Lingrow Close which runs adjacent to the Cleveland way.
