Beautiful, Safe, Comfy
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU BOOK THIS PLACE. From the moment I first contacted Lorenzo till the moment we left he was very communicative and excellent. He is a friendly, sweet and a truly kind person. The welcoming was so nice, he had a smile on his face and has an engaging personality. We had a welcome basket full of delicious snacks, the place was fully loaded, he thought of basically everything you could possibly need. He had maps, bus information, personal tips on visiting the city. The cottage is very clean, comfy, cozy, and spacious. The location is gated, which provides high security and the neighborhood is safe. The bus stop is 3 blocks away from the cottage. You can view Saint Peter's Basilica from the bus stop. Lorenzo is very accommodating and flexible, we arrived later than we said we would, about 1.5 hours later due to an accident, I had no way of letting him know, he kindly reached out to ask if we were safe. He allowed me to park in his driveway. This is the first time I ever used Home Away, and of course I was skeptical, but our visit to this cottage was so pleasant, after staying at a few hotels in other cities, it was amazing to stay somewhere that felt like we were at home, this was definitely one of our favorite spots to stay at. The payment process was very simple and the deposit was returned within a few days. You wont regret booking it.
Beautiful cottage on a street with a view
The cottage L'Aureliana is new construction (2016) on a residential street with a famous view of the dome of St. Peter's Basilica. There are in fact four (4) bus stops a few steps away--one going north, three going south--on a wide-ranging route with direct access to the Vatican, Old Rome, Prati district shopping, the Metro, and more within walking distance of bus stops. Taxi service is excellent (but check that the meter is running before you get in).
This wonderful rental is scrupulously clean, comfortable and spacious--even by American standards--and elegantly decorated in a light style that feels like home. An induction cooktop and dishwasher make the kitchen easy to clean, even after a large meal. No stuffy hotel atmosphere here; no exhaust fumes either, and it's so quiet night birds sing outside your open window. Everything works (and if it doesn't, Signore Colonna fixes it immediately). The garden is cool, private, and partly shaded, and thick hedges muffle neighborhood noise. Vincenzo's lovely fruit and vegetable stand (with fresh food you won't find at the grocery) sits just outside the secure gate. A walk in the nearby Villa Pamphili park feels like you're in the Italian countryside. Negatives? There weren’t any. We enjoyed nearly three happy months here--I can't imagine staying anywhere else. We want to come back.
The Cottage is located on Via Nicolò Piccolomini, surrounded by greenery inside of a private villa park
Via Piccolomini is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful and famous streets of Rome, thanks to the beautiful and very unique view it offers on the dome of St. Peter's Basilica.
Located just steps from Villa Doria Pamphili and only 5 minutes drive from San Pietro, Trastevere, Janiculum Hill and the Old Town.
Well connected with St. Peter's Railway Station, Vatican City and the center of Rome through a few stops by bus No. 982
