Very Clean, Comfy, and Cozy!!

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely adored this homeaway! The whole cabin was exceptionally clean and had a warm/cozy feel! My girlfriend is a slight germophobe and she felt more comfortable staying here than in a hotel. Everything you would need was provided to you and more! The bathroom seemed brand new and offered a small heater for the colder days. Next to the bed was a large window overlooking the serene waterfall and river. Around the cabin was a wrap around porch that allowed you to see the waterfall from multiple perspectives. The cabin was close to the owners home, but they were so gracious to make sure we felt as if we were the only ones on the property. I would stay here again and again! Highly recommend! We love to cook and the kitchen had ample space and everything we needed to cook. We brought our Blue Apron meals and were able too cook them with no trouble. Thank you Lee & Ian!!

I didn't read the other reviews before booking, so I wasn't aware that the owner was on site.

We had a great time, and were very pleased with our visit. The owner was on site, but never once an issue. Leesa's son, Ian was such a great help! We met the goats, and bunnies, which was so fun for us! We would be happy to book this cabin again.

Charming and lovely!

  • 5 of 5

The cabin over the waterfall was every bit as charming as I'd hoped it would be and the hosts kind and helpful. I was looking for a quiet getaway, and the lovely surroundings were the perfect remedy!

Cabin

  • 2 of 5

There was good and bad like anything else.First it is an hour from most tourist attractions. However the roads are amazing views.Secondly while we knew it was isolated we thought there was satellite tv. There was hulu and some streaming nonsense that never worked. Also no cell service in this cabin although the wifi was strong. All this would be ok if I knew ahead of time and the price reflected it.Then u can make an informed choice. Im ok with roughing it if the price is right and I am properly informed. I feel neither happened in this case.

Owner's Response: It is incredibly important to us that our guests have a great stay, and equally so, that our site reflects exactly what we offer at our cabin. I would like to note that our cabin provides full Netflix, Hulu, HBO Now, Dish Anywhere, and that we do not, never have, and never will, advertise that we have satellite NASCAR sports packages (which most hotels do not have either). This was the only complaint you had, that you missed a NASCAR race, and with all due respect, to give us 2 stars because we didn’t have something we never led you to believe we had, is very disappointing to us, and the integrity of our business. Our streaming works perfectly, and we have free high speed internet that you noted works very well. Next, concerning the isolation: yes, the location of our cabin is nestled in the quiet and peaceful rural area of Vermont’s beautiful green mountains. This secluded getaway is one of our most prominent features of the cabin itself, and how we advertise it. While we are an hour out from the bigger cities, we are close to an abundance of high quality tourist spots that we provide a lot of information about (because we want you guys to have fun and know what’s around!). In fact, we offered you FREE golf and waterpark passes at the Jay Peak Resort and you weren't interested. We did go above and beyond to make your stay worth while, and our price absolutely reflects the amenities of the cabin (including the Japanese cedar soaker hot tub, free on-demand movies, FREE wifi, a kitchen, complimentary Organic farm fresh food items, and on demand support and customer service — all while hanging directly over a rushing waterfall). The cabin, in fact, is less expensive than the ski and waterpark resorts nearby, and provides more resources, better customer service, and more amenities without extra charge — and a waterfall… and a natural swimming hole with pure spring water ...and beautiful scenery — really can’t stress this enough. Thank you for your stay, we apologize you missed a nascar race but are dismayed by your response.

A Lovely Cabin plus a Magical Swimming Hole Equals A Stunning Stay

  • 5 of 5

Yes, the cabin is literally over a waterfall. During our two night stay on warm July days, we left the windows open and let the low roar fill the space.

As others have said, when we first arrived, we felt a bit surprised at how close the main house is to the cabin. Trust me, this is not an issue. Occasionally we saw someone watering the garden or tending to the animals (the baby goats were hilarious), but that is it. The nearness of owner Leesa and her son made it easier for us to beg for help when we botched our wood-fired heated cedar hot tub attempt.

The cabin is efficient. When you enter, to the left is the well-supplied galley kitchen. To the right is a spacious seating area with a table to eat at and a comfy couch. The large bed is also quite comfy. In the bathroom, my one observation is if you’re a large person, the shower stall might prove a challenge. The room is bright and cheerful, well-stocked with towels and toiletries. Lovely touches abounded, like enough fresh eggs, cream, butter, and glorious home-baked bread to supply two breakfasts and sandwiches during our stay.

Outside, a small fire pit sits before table and chairs if you want to eat outside (yes),along with a swing. A deck surrounds the cabin, granting visitors the perfect spot to drip dry and sip wine after playing in the swimming hole.

Oh yes, the swimming hole. The waterfall experience sold me, but the idea of a private swimming hole super sold me enough to change my vacation plans and travel far north. The deep, round, waterfall-fed pool is amazing. We were there after a series of flooding rains which meant the water flowed hard. I’m short and can’t swim, so climbing up the little waterfall into the pool took gumption. It is so worth the effort. Part of the pool is ten feet deep, it tucked under fantastical carved rock ledges. We bobbed, pushed to the center to let the current take over, and, when we were finished, slid over the exit waterfall to be pushed down a narrow channel into the next deep spot. This is truly a private natural water park.

On the second night, we used the Japanese wood-fired hot tub, sipping champagne and congratulating ourselves for finding such a wonderful place to stay.

Other waterfalls beg to be visited, like Creamery Bridge Falls a mere 8 minutes up the road, or Big Falls past Jay. To the south, Smugglers Notch SP is worth the hour trip (we visited it on the way up).

But really, why leave such a magical place?

Beautiful little cabin over waterfall. Very well equipped. Hosts are near by and charming. And they had baby goats, which was the icing on top.
