Our family loves unwinding at Hoopers Hill, whether it is fishing off the shoreline, picking pecans or persimmons, collecting sea glass or arrowheads on our beach, lounging in the sun, playing games outside or inside (booo, only if raining). We love to just take in all of the gorgeous views! We reconnect as a family in this idyllic place.

We rented this property as an overflow house for my son's wedding 10 minutes away. The owners were fast to respond to any questions or concerns I had. The home is well equipped and nicely furnished. Although we spent most of the time at the venue for the weekend, our family found this home extremely comfortable and a great place to return to at the end of the night.
Comfortable home, gorgeous surroundings, wonderful experience of Maryland the way it used to be. Home was well furnished and cozy. Kayaks a real bonus. Susan, there to help next door, was welcoming and helpful. Super relaxing, easy access to water and wildlife (Eagles, osprey, crabs). We've put this lovely home on our permanent wish list! Must go to Old Salty's up the road and Bistro Poplar in Cambridge.
We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful house, it was the perfect peaceful getaway. The house was very spacious and welcoming. We loved the private beach and the kayaks were definitely a bonus. We ordered a bushel of crabs from Phillips, that were delivered to our door, the biggest bushel we have ever seen. The local general store has almost everything you need and Old Saltys has delicious food. The owners are wonderful and quick at answering questions and we thank them for a wonderful trip
A group of us rented this property for an extended stay while we were working nearby at Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge in June. After some long, hard days working outside, it was wonderful coming back to this property and relaxing outside by the water with the wonderful views. Our interns loved the kayaks and walking along the beach looking for arrowheads. The house is comfortable and roomy and had everything we needed to feel at home. We slept well and ate well (cooking in the well-stocked kitchen) and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Because we were there for 3+ weeks and through a few summer storms, we did have a few concerns/issues with this historic house, and each was addressed swiftly by the owners. The neighbors were a definite highlight of our trip!
Property is absolutely massive and owners are super responsive. This is best for folks seeking lots of quiet - Old Salty's is the only restaurant around, and the General Store doesn't carry much, so be sure to bring groceries if you plan on cooking. However, the easy "beach" access is lovely, the beds are comfortable, and the kitchen is stocked with everything but food.
A group of five of us came down from DC for Labor Day weekend on a last minute trip. The owners were very communicative and accommodating. None of us had ever been to Hoopers Island before and we are so glad we came! The area is just gorgeous and the house was perfect. We went kayaking and swimming every day out on the bay in the back and enjoyed the front porch view of the river. The house can easily accommodate 6 or more people. Be sure to visit Old Salty's!
