Three Bedroom, Three Bathroom Luxury Rental House In A Private, 3.5 Acre Setting

This recently renovated three bedroom house in Kohala Ranch is a quiet, private oasis with fabulous ocean views. The property has its own heated pool and regulation size tennis court, and borders on undeveloped public reserve lands. The star gazing is amazing! A ten minute drive to restaurants and the best beaches on the island. Ideally set up for up to three couples or a family with up to 2 children.

Wendy and Mark share time between their home in Canada and their home in Hawai'i. Having fell in love with the Big Island over 10 years ago, we were fortunate to have purchased Hale Honu in 2010 and continue to share this magical property with guests from all over the world. We recently renovated the entire house to add even more luxury to your stay!

The Big Island is a magical place and the Kohala coast is one of the best parts of the island! It is well known for it's dry, sunny climate. Living an active lifestyle, Hale Honu is a great locale for running/walking, tennis, swimming and cycling, and gives us close access to paddle boarding, surfing, snorkeling, etc. The house itself is beautifully landscaped and perfectly placed to afford amazing views of the ocean. We can see the whales breaching from our lanai!

What makes this house unique

Our guests will enjoy their own private heated pool, tennis court and unparalleled ocean views. The house is well appointed with everything you will need to relax and unwind. Enjoy the spa-like rain shower in the master bath, read the morning news in the cozy breakfast nook, and enjoy pupus (hors d'oeuvres) and cocktails on the lanai as you watch the sun sink into the ocean. Beaches abound within 10 to 20 minutes drive from the house. You may enjoy one of the local restaurants or barbecue fresh fish yourself, purchased from the nearby fish market. And there are so many fun activities on the Island that you'll never run short of things to do - volcanoes, snorkeling, zip lining, hiking, biking, paddling, surfing, whale watching...or just relaxing on a beach or by the pool.

Over the top luxury with fantastic views

Great location. Sunny and bright and close to beaches. Beautifully decorated Inside and out. Local art and decor make you really feel like you are in Hawaii. Expansive well appointed pool area and lanai/sitting area. Eat or lounge outside or inside in luxury. Tennis courts a bonus and great way to get some exercise. The outdoor pool shower and washroom are a nice bonus. Have stayed here more than once and it gets better every time.

Beautiful home, you won't want to leave!

We thoroughly enjoyed our week's stay in this lovely home. It is quiet, extremely private, beautifully appointed and thoughtfully equipped with everything you need. Very clean, very comfortable - inside and out. Great views and stargazing. Close enough (by car) to all activities - restaurants, shopping, and beaches - but away enough to be "far from the madding crowd." The fish market nearby is great - and we chose to eat in every night except our last. We didn't want to miss any sunsets - which are spectacular! We really enjoyed having a private pool, which we made good use of. Mark (owner) and his property manager were responsive, informative, and helpful; we didn't have a single issue or problem that required assistance during our stay. For our needs, it was perfection. We would definitely stay here again.

Exquisite vacation home on the Kohala Coast!

We just got back from a wonderful week in Hawaii at Hale Honu! This house has been recently renovated to the highest standards. This high-end home is very private but convenient to everything, including the best beaches on the big island, without being too close to the typical tourist spots. The pool and patio were great places to sit and relax. The kitchen is well equipped and so nice that we chose to eat all of our meals at the house. The fish market just down the street is great. We were able to hike, whale watch, kayak, snorkel, zip line, surf, bike, attend a luau, swim, and play tennis all within a short distance of the house (or at the house). The sunrises over the hills and sunsets over the ocean are breathtaking. I highly recommend Hale Honu!
