VILLA MARULHA GUINCHO - CASCAIS
Just 25 km from Lisbon, Marulha-Guincho is 0.9 km from the magnificent Guincho Beach and the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park. It is in the heart of a stunning coastline with a beautiful landscape, which will provide you with these incredible views and make you feel close to nature.
Marulha-Guincho is only a 10-minute walk (900 meters) or 1 min by car from 4 of Guincho's beaches. Located in a sparsely populated area, on the edge of the Natural Park Sintra-Cascais, a protected park, it has a wonderful view of the mountains of Sintra. It is the ideal place for a beach and country holiday. You can cross the dunes to reach the beaches. Ideal for strolling through the sea, the countryside or the mountains of Sintra, and perhaps reach the Peninha Convent, which can be seen from the garden, as well as the Pena Palace.
Marulha-Guincho is located within a landscaped estate of 12. 000 m2 with a rural horizon of local vegetation and pine trees. The house has its own garden with a table and chairs and a parking space. The living room, dining room and open kitchen occupy a single large space (50m2) overlooking the garden. The bedroom area with a large double bed (queen size bed) is separated from the rest of the house by 2 steps to a higher level with access to a private sunny backyard (sunbathing) with sun loungers. A stone floor covers the whole house.
A short distance away are the beaches of Guincho, Cresmina Grande, Cresmina Pequena and Abano. Guincho beach is best suited for surfing, windsurfing, kite surfing and bodyboarding, when the weather is suitable for these sports. 1 km from the house there are health clubs, tennis courts, golf courses and horse riding clubs. If you are more adventurous there are paths for walking or cycling along the coast and in the Natural Park.
Guincho and the Areia village, have excellent restaurants that offer the best choice of fish and seafood dishes and regional and international dishes, just 15 min. on foot. There is a bus stop near (600 m) from the house that goes to the center of Cascais, 7 km away, however, it is more advisable to use a car. From Cascais, by car or train, you can visit Lisbon only 25 km. Alternatively, Cascais and Guincho offer bicycles, which will allow you to travel along the beautiful coast of Estoril, Cascais and Guincho.
In the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, Cascais, a fishing village, was the summer residence of the Portuguese monarchy, and during World War II, it was shelter for the European Nobility.
Just a short drive away, surrounding the sea and touring the Serra de Sintra Mountains, you will find small towns as well as the most western point of Europe, Cabo da Roca, before arriving at the charming historical town of Sintra. Here you can visit its beautiful palaces and gardens, where the Portuguese monarchy spent summer holidays in the previous centuries.
