Beds on Bull is in the trendy hipster neighborhood of SoFo. The South of Forsyth district is just that - the area south of Forsyth Park up to Victory Drive. We are the location of the 'Best Coffee House in Savannah - Foxy Loxy', Back in the Day Bakery, Elizabeth's on 37th, Green Truck Pub, The Florence , Blowin' Smoke Restaurant, and more! We have 3 Bedrooms: 1 King, 1 Queen, Twin Bunk Beds (in VERY small room), and a Queen air mattress with linens and plenty of places where it can be set up.

Our fabulous 1500 square foot home (circa 1902) is located in the heart of the SOFO district directly across the street from Thomas Square and one of Savannah's architectural gems- the Bull Street library (circa 1913). It is very spacious with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a great room, laundry, and a full service kitchen. A complete renovation was completed in 2015 including all new plumbing, AC, electrical, insulation, fixtures and furnishings. So you need not worry about your comfort or safety. (Many of Savannah's older homes have very old electrical and plumbing and zero insulation- so this is a definite 'upgrade'!)

LOCATION: The SOFO district is the area south of Forsyth park. It provides a taste of true local culture in Savannah. SoFo businesses take pride in creating foods and products that are handcrafted and unique. A must-do for any Savannah vacation and worth supporting by locals. Come enjoy this wonderfully quirky area of Savannah that also includes the Starland District and Victorian District. SOFO has been written up in the New York Times, Southern Living, and Delta Sky Miles Magazine. We are 2 doors down from the Foxy Loxy Print Shop and Cafe : a hot spot for local art students where they sip coffee in the morning, graze at lunch, enjoy bakery items in the afternoon and party in the courtyard at night! We are also 2 doors from Butterheads Cafe, with great vegetarian delights. Also within a 2-3 minute car ride are Elizabeth's on 37th, The Florence, and Back in the Day Bakery. Of course a 3-5 minute drive will get you to the heart of the downtown district. Or you can walk about 10-15 minutes straight down Bull Street to Forsyth Park and then take a free shuttle throughout downtown.

ACCOMODATIONS: One bedroom has a king sized bed, the other has a queen bed. Additionally, there is a queen air mattress. There is a very small room with bunk beds for children. There is a dining table that seats 6. Each bedroom has a 42' flat screen TV and the great room has a 55' smart flat screen TV. By local ordinance, a 2 bedroom dwelling CANNOT rent to more than 8 adults. You can however have as many children stay as you'd like:)

PARKING: Ample off street parking provided for 2 cars, possibly 3.,

About John and Rocel Lindsey

This property is owned by Steve & Lenell Dufour along with her son, John Lindsey. Steve is a UGA graduate, Lenell is a University of Texas grad, and John graduated from Georgia Southwestern. John and his wife Rocel manage the property. Lenell is a retired teacher (USA Newspaper Teacher of the Year!) and Steve is soon (hopefully) a retired hospital pharmacist. John and his wife have an adorable 2 year old son that you might see pushing a broom. Steve and Lenell live in the Landings on Skidaway Island about 20 minutes from the property. John and his wife Rocel live in Pooler, about 10-15 minutes away. Steve was born in Maine; Lenell in Louisiana.

John and Rocel Lindsey purchased this house in 2014

Why John and Rocel Lindsey chose Metropolitan

We just finished a complete renovation recently. ALL new everything! Plumbing, electrical, air conditioning, furniture, kitchens, bathrooms , parking area, etc. Like a new 1902 house :) So the condition is perfect. We love the location for people watching the Savannah College of Design art students who attend class 100 feet away and love to frequent Foxy Loxy Coffee House 90 feet away. Butterhead Greens Café is also just 70 feet away. This is also a great location if you want to do more than just walk around downtown - like access Tybee Beach, Wormsloe Plantation, Bonaventure Cemetery, and Skidaway State Park. We really encourage you to see more of the surrounding area - the scenery is breathtaking once you get out to the low country tidal rivers, creeks, and marshes.

What makes this house unique

FREE bike excursion on 40 miles of paths at The Landings on Skidaway Island. Must give 24 hours advance request. Nature's paradise. Great photo opportunities:) bikes for 6.

Beautiful home in convenient location

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay in John And Rocel's place! Beautifully furnished, comfortable beds, a well-stocked kitchen. Tons of brochures and books to get inspiration for your time in Savannah. The owners were helpful and quick to respond to our messages. We loved the location too. The Foxy Loxy cafe a couple doors down was the perfect place to watch some live music over tacos in the evening, then grab beautiful bakery treats from for breakfast in the morning.

The only thing to be aware of is that there is a long flight of stairs leading up to the apartment from the front door, so this might be a hazard if you have very small children.

We're hoping this beautiful home is available for our next stay in Savannah!

Beds On Bull - Our Favorite Place To Stay, To Date

  • 5 of 5

I'm going to go ahead and throw an asterisk here * to add a sixth star to this review. I don't even know where to begin. Our little family went on a 'Southern Adventure' tour spanning five different cities, and we enjoyed them all - but this location was, by far, the most outstanding. We were so in awe that both my girlfriend and I immediately began snapping photographs of every room to send to everyone back home. The building itself is beautiful, inside and out, and the furnishings were quite nice. The kids absolutely loved it, especially our five-year old daughter Ainsley, who had a queen-sized bed all to herself. She even said, "Thank you Chinese bedroom," upon our departure to the Asian-themed room. On our first night, we had to watch Midnight In The Garden Of Good & Evil, and one of the first lines in the movie had to do with Bull Street. It made our stay feel 'legitimate', knowing we were right smack-dab in the middle of the real Savannah. It was great to be within walking distance of pretty much everything. For those who don't shy away from traveling on foot, you can make it down to the river and back and see pretty much everything in between, if you're up for the trek. But even if not, you only need go two doors down for possibly the best coffee shop on the planet. I've traveled a lot, and I also lived in NYC for 12 years, and not a single place comes to mind that can compare to the coffee we had at Foxy Loxy. They've also got local art for sale, and be sure I took some home as a reminder of our lovely time there. A couple doors down from that is the famous 'Gingerbread House' which is also right across from the library. But not only were our experiences with the location and property well beyond greatest expectation, the owners themselves were fantastic. John & Rocel were very great about texting all pertinent information needed, and very friendly to the point I found myself texting back and forth with them as much as I was with my family back home on our first day. You will not be disappointed in your stay at Beds on Bull. Our only regret was that we could not stay longer this time. We may very well return to this classic home filled with southern charm soon.
